Hancock Whitney Mortgage Rates

This one-star rating is for the mortgage service, not directed at any one branch or person within a branch. The company they use is awful. Their computer system apparently gets holidays off—it's a computer! It does not recognize my phone number that it texts and calls me on about a late payment. The computers take five or more days to communicate with each other when a payment is made!!!!!

If you want the pickiest underwriter while trying to get a loan, pick this bank. I am a week away from closing and they are asking me for documents to prove the smallest little transactions. Ridiculous.

Absolute worst bank I've ever dealt with. Paid off my mortgage and need documentation from Whitney so the lienholder can be removed from my title. They have absolutely no record this mortgage existed and I think anyone with a pulse can work in their customer service department. I've been trying for 2 weeks just to find someone who can find my loan and send me the needed paperwork.

If I could give zero stars I would. This has been the absolute WORST customer service experience in my entire life. We began this process in January and after THREE MONTHS the "underwriters" kept delaying and requesting additional information. I thought they were going to ask for blood or my firstborn child and we finally told them to stick it and went with another lender who had us approved and at act of sale within 3 weeks. We are closing all our accounts with this bank and finding a bank that knows how to treat their customers with respect and dignity. Avoid this bank at all costs!!!

Been paying everything on time, and suddenly, I begin receiving return checks, my account was put on some hold, and they are pilling on these late fees, yet no one has explained why my account is on hold. Because it is the holidays, no one in my branch can help, and calling customer support took me around 4 hrs and two separate days..... different numbers to call, put on hold so many times. In short, I pretty much have to wait until the person who deals with my account is back from break and suck up the late fees.... just ridiculous. I have never in my life missed a payment nor anything of the sort. I have given two stars simply because everyone I've talked with is incredibly nice and did their best to ease my troubles since I would rather NOT lose my house but the rest just trash.

Beyond excessive with information they needed for a loan. I’ve never had to provide such private, invasive info in my life!? Will not use them again!

Shirley Penn McAfee did a horrific job on the closing of our loan. She did not meet a single deadline, was constantly ignorant to our questions - if she even answered our calls - which was hardly ever. She wouldn't communicate with our real estate agent - she wouldn't answer his calls either. She never responded to our emails. When we finally reached her supervisor - Fern Rodman, we were given the runaround and the same treatment - extremely rude. We almost lost the deal of the home due to her lack of turning paperwork in on time. The truth is, she doesn't know her job and we want everyone to know that she is not someone to use when getting a home loan. Communication is key when making such a large purchase and Shirley was a horrible communicator. Please save your self the misery of using her or any of Hancock Whitney loan officers off of Kirby Drive in Katy, TX. Shirley talks about how important it is to explore your financing options - PLEASE follow her advise - explore, explore, explore. Kermit the frog could have done a better job for us!

This bank has been terrible from start to finish. They lost track of checks, have lost track of electronic payments, are late with statements which cause late fees and hurt customer credit. Their customer service department couldn't figure out how to grant access to our own account. The mortgage officers are poor communicators and also haven't been able to remedy payment problems when given over a week to address the problem. The manager has been copied on email correspondence and never once contributed to the process.
Organization and reliability are the two things i look for in a bank and they have neither. It's terrifying that they're managing billions of dollars of American money because their corporate structure has proven inadequate in managing our single residential mortgage loan. I would never recommend this bank. Take your money anywhere else. I've tried to voice my concerns to the company directly and no options were presented to me.
