They ran a promotion for Cyber Monday for a new account, and then they were backlogged. I checked in with them many times but never got a response.even went in there branch in town and they said it would be a few days before they get caught up with the back log ...After calling them multiple times, they said the promotion was over and wouldn't restore the account. They have all my information and wouldn't delete it. Poor customer experience. Maybe they don't want new customers, or they don't want to honor their promotion. Perhaps it's a good thing they didn't want my money or business.

Do not bank with them! Honestly, the worst bank I have ever interacted with. They are terrible with communication and customer service. The only helpful person that worked there, Carol, left for another branch and since then, there has been no help, just frustrating phone calls dealing with supposed "lapses in coverage" and sudden increases in monthly payments without communicating the changes. Everyone that answers the phone is rude and unhelpful and clearly doesn't care about helping their customers to the best of their abilities. If you are thinking about financing any loan or anything through this bank, please think again! You will regret it, trust me! I've been dealing with their issues for over a year now and have decided to refinance elsewhere. If I could give no stars, I would.

I have never been spoken to so rudely in my life. Every time I call in to make a payment, I get attitude and snark. Worst customer service I have ever encountered! If you can finance through anyone else, do it. I would rather sell a kidney than finance through them again. I will be telling every person I know about the horrible customer service they 'offer'.

I made my first payment and they took the payment from my checking and placed a hold on my account until the following Monday.for the same amount. This was on Thursday. Why? There answer was that's how our system works. The hold was another $470 causing my account to overdraw. And it's now Monday night and the hold has still not been lifted! I will close this loan tomorrow and refinance with my bank which is where I should have gone in the first place. I relied on the dealer to handle the financing which was my mistake. I just can't believe they would put a hold on my account when the payment was made. Makes no sense to me. My ring should be 0 but that's not an option n

They are the absolute worst Credit Union I have ever done business with. They cannot do anything when you call for help. Can’t raise your limit when you ask can’t do mobile deposits because someone scams you when that is not your fault so I am closing my account and would never recommend anyone to do business with them.

I purchased a car through them, and when I paid off $4,000 of the loan, they decided that my insurance, which hadn't changed in two years, was not sufficient. Subsequently, they added $6,000 to my loan to retroactively cover insurance for the period they deemed my policy inadequate. I had my insurance company contact them seven times, and they had to highlight every requirement that was met, which had been the case for the past two years. Unfortunately, Altra won't remove the additional $6,000 from my loan, and I now feel trapped as the loan payment has doubled per month. Being a type 1 diabetic, I am unable to afford twice the amount I used to pay. I don't understand the legality of requiring someone to back pay for insurance and adding $6,000 to a loan when there was never an issue. I would advise against using their services; they have been unprofessional and deceitful.

In all my years of buying vehicles, I have never dealt with a more irresponsible, disrespectful, and ignorant credit institution. My experience with them was handled so recklessly by "professionals" it flabbergasts me. I will NEVER recommend this institution to anyone in my lifetime.

@AltraCU honestly just by looking at others situation, the credit union itself is completely flawed and has gone downhill! in the one year that i have had my account with altra, no soul is helpful or even kind, only one again was Carol and god bless her soul she left and ever since i have the same reoccurring issues with each and every other member that works there and clearly many other individuals are being handled poorly and unprofessionally by your institution 🤷🏽♀️ if you “appreciate” the business maybe be helpful OR kind OR competent and you won’t be losing business or have a rating much greater than 3 stars

This Credit Union has been nothing but problems for my son and I. Every time you speak with someone you get a different answer. I used them for personal and my business checking/savings- I was always doing something wrong on my business account as it changed from person to person. The latest fiasco is my son trying to close his account and send his money to another bank- nearly impossible and we have spent hours on the phone getting different responses. He was told numerous times his credit score wasn't high enough, and at one point he just wanted to mobile deposit a check into his account, what does this have to do with a credit score- I would never recommend this place to anyone- unless you want to work with incompetent people and a bank that has no clue.

that’s nice, as a brand new driver they offered to cover a car loan and give me a credit card so i could build my credit and i thought it was great and all, not very short after making car payments on time at an agreed amount but suddenly my payment totals would skyrocket without warning, notice, or even paper mail, and for almost the last six months because of their negligence they have continued to say i owe more money than i do and each month they throw my account in the negatives due to their negligence and i have paid over $150 just in late fees over the course of those months, haven’t had a good month since and now i am closing the account, and looking to refinance, hopefully it goes better for you but looking at multiple others going through the same, not sure what’s in the cards! but good luck!

They have good rates and solid offerings. And they seem friendly enough when you go in. However it IS a bit off-putting for me to have to interact with the tellers via tube and screen. I understand some people may actually prefer this. I’m just not one of them. But mainly they lose stars because their online and app performance is barely year 2000. The whole system needs a huge update/upgrade. When every single institution I use syncs up to Mint and third party services using Plaid besides Altra, you know there is a problem. It’s just not being prioritized as it should be, which is a shame.
