Beware! American Eagle Title Insurance is a not the right company for title insurance. If you want to buy insurance just to feel good and check a box, go ahead. However there are plenty of other companies that sell insurance for less and more importantly will be there when you need them in event of a claim. AE is NOT one of them! They have NO intention of paying anything. They don’t even have a form to process a claim!
First off title insurance claims are extremely rare in Oklahoma. They are almost nonexistent. However claims do happen. If they do happen American Eagle is NOT the insurance company you want.
I have done multiple transactions with this Title Insurance company and I thought they were a great company. I have really enjoyed working with their staff and thought I had a great relationship with them. However once I had one claim on title insurance policy that all changed. They refused to have any integrity in the matter. They denied the claim and gave bad faith claims about coverage. They have no process for claims and literally threatened with a demand notice when I went to ask about it. I know that sounds crazy. I would have never have guessed.
They will hire greedy lawyers just hang you out to dry and collect their legal fees even on a case they know they will lose. AE tried to drag on a losing case instead of taking responsibility for their actions. Even though it would cost all the parties including AE more in the end. It was AEs fault for not bringing attention to the title defect but they would not honor their policy they sold to me. I wasted thousands of dollars and a tremendous amount of time just because AE refused to work with the parties involved. Do you really want an insurance company that you have to sue in order for them to honor their word? One that will lie and ignore you. Think about it.
