Avadian Credit Union

I'm so disappointed in this bank. I've only been with them for three years. I transferred all my eggs into one basket, and why did I do that? Changed car insurance and got more, and they penalized me, froze my account on Christmas Eve. I was so hurt; they didn't care if I had to feed my kids. They took 38 credit points from me while they constantly were looking at my credit report. Yes, I've changed banks and am on the verge of blocking them from accessing my credit report.

Literally the worst service ever! They will not help with customer assistance, are the least knowledgeable, and do not provide financial advisory. They confiscated my credit card and will not give me access to online banking, which is inconvenient since I cannot come in during normal business hours, including Saturday. David, Alex, Amanda, and Elizabeth from the Trussville, AL location have all failed to support my issues and cannot do anything beyond pulling up an account number.

Aviadan Credit Union is unsatisfactory! As soon as my CD matures, I am pulling my money from this credit union. It used to be a nice place to do business, but I am leaving them as soon as possible.

I am an 80-something-year-old checking account customer living on a meager Social Security check month to month. Avadian CU had the audacity to take $45 from my scant checking account, and after several phone complaints, I am still waiting for my refund. Their nonexistent, terrible customer service promises to look into why they charge fees to Senior free checking. In over 8 years of membership, I never wrote an NSF check and never had an overdraft. I cannot afford to keep any money there. I will keep my money in a sock under my mattress after this. That $45 could have fed me for several days. I am very upset.

Their app always glitches; you have to constantly close and open it for it to work. They just got an ATM where you deposit money; however, it's always offline and has taken my money before. I've had to file a request to receive the actual amount back. I've had an account with them for over 10 years, and they do not care about loyalty when it comes to problems with your account. I've recommended people to this bank beforehand, but I would never do so again! I am looking to close all accounts and refinance my auto loan.

Went into the Gardendale Branch where Karen H. is the manager. She was the most unprofessional lady I have encountered. She misrepresented the details of my account and there is also a video of the humiliating encounter. Karen needs to be terminated as soon as possible. I reported her to Nicole D. at the Colonnade Branch, where Karen stated that they are friends and nothing would happen to her. If you are Black, I advise avoiding this bank at all costs. The management has yet to reach out after they promised to rectify their error. Karen and Linda, the CEO, should be ashamed.

Just awful! I closed an account with them almost two years ago. I never received any correspondence regarding a small balance owed on the account. They said they sent notifications out, but I am sure it's a lie. These people recently reported a debt for 19 cents to the credit bureau which, of course, deducted points from my score. What type of business would hurt someone's credit for 19 cents? To make matters worse, I got the complete runaround for over a month just trying to pay the bill. I would not recommend Avadian Credit Union to my worst enemy. I would be ashamed to be employed by this place.

Terrible customer service at the corporate office. I've been told twice now, once the other day and several months ago, that the CFO would call me; so far, no call. Apparently, they don't care about their customers.

I have been a member of Avadian for over 20 years. Recently, when I visited the Colonnade branch, I was publicly embarrassed by a teller named Amanda whom I had never met before. As I waited for assistance, she engaged in a lengthy conversation about her personal matters with another member who had finished their banking. She then directed me to seek help elsewhere while she continued her discussion. When I pointed out that this was unprofessional and not good customer service, Amanda raised her voice and told me to "show myself out of the bank" loudly in front of all the customers. I was left feeling ashamed, and the other customers who spoke with me afterward were in shock and disbelief. This branch has been without a manager for over a year. Consequently, I contacted the corporate office, but no action was taken. They simply transferred Amanda to the Greystone branch where she showed no regret when I encountered her there. I have never been treated so poorly and unprofessionally at a business establishment and I do not want this to happen to anyone else. Therefore, I am writing this review. Do yourself a favor and choose a bank where you are treated with decency and respect and where there is no risk of being expelled from the bank by Amanda.

If there was a zero star option, that’s what I’d give. Financed my car with Avadian and it has been a 5 year headache. Could never get on line option to work, system would not let me change my password, no one in the company could ever help. I was not given the option to choose my payment date. I have to call in every month to make payment. One month I typed in 307.00 instead of 307.33 on the phone and they reported two months worth of late payments on my credit report. I called to try and get them to fix and they refused. Said I didn’t make the “full” payment the first month, then denied reporting me as late the second month even though it is plain as day on my credit report. I was told that I had to gather all of my evidence and send my case into them and they’d “look into it”. Trying to get payoff but the amount that they are giving me is the same amount it was 3 months ago and 2 payments have been made since then.
This is just the recent stuff I’m dealing with. It’s been 5 years of one issue after another with Avadian.
I’ve never in my life dealt with such an unorganized, inefficient company, lacking in any form of customer service.

Will not correspond with you in a timely manner. Cannot provide accurate completion dates. Will not do more than the absolute bare minimum in effort to find information. WILL LIE TO YOU REGARDING CORRESPONDANCE ATTEMPTS. WILL CHARGE YOU FEES THAT COULD BE AVOIDED BY MAKING A SIMPLE PHONE CALL. Avoid at all cost.

I traded this car a month ago so it is paid off. I am not sure when it will show up on my credit report as paid off but it is. Avadian was great to deal with and made everything go so smooth;y

My husband and I are with Avadian and have been me anyways about 1 year and a half. The Trussville branch has been nothing but excellent. Maybe the people having so many issues should go to Trussville. The teller’s are great and kind and always greet everyone as they come through the front door. My husband got a HELOC loan with no problems then turned around and got a car loan. Go see Thomas he is the branch manager and will go out of his way to help you the best he can. Another loan person is David and he is great as well. This is an excellent credit union as far as I am concerned, and yes sometimes people can make mistakes, but like I said we are only humans. I have dealt with Legacy credit Union they are awful as far as I am concerned. Don’t give up on Avadian. Could have had some people that were just having a bad day. We are only human. Do try Trussville Avadian if you haven’t been happy with the others. I think you will be very pleased. If not please talk to Thomas to try and make it right for you.

These people are prejudice towards AA members and have extremely poor business practices when it comes to the support and protect of members funds and transactions. This bank has poor customer service across the board, lazy follow up practices and disengaged management. Take your money elsewhere or you will learn a really though lesson. BEWARE!!!!

So I was trying to pay off a car loan which took me about 3 days because their customer service is crap. I finally paid it off-they charged me a fee to give them money-and now I can’t get my title. They had their money for 3 weeks but they can’t drop a title in the mail. They are horrendous.
