Do not trust this company with your home! I paid my insurance on time for over 5 years and when i filed a claim for water damage they cancelled my policy within 5 days!! This should be illegal.

Worst company ever!!!’ Don’t use them, they are scammers they try to find any reason to cancel you, then audit you twice per year and double your premium bill when their cheaply made website won’t load documents. Then cancel you for non compliance and then audit you end of year when you aren’t even their customer anymore and then double your premium again. So I paid 3 X the original cost of policy and got cancelled. Had to find other insurance company who hadn’t bothered us us once. Berkshire customer service is rude and they do not try to help you at all. They pretty much say get me this or we will add on to your premium when the documents weren’t ready until end of year taxes where done. Horrible, greedy, money hungry company!!!
My employer had to have workers compensation by law. He obtained a policy through this Berkshire Hathaway GUARD and they failed me. I fell from a ladder and fractured my spine in 7 different places, my clavicle in 4 places, and the base of my skull. Going to my Dr visits I was prescribed medication for pain and the insurance company placed a pre-authorization hold on me picking up the medication from Walgreens. The hold lasted 5 days! My weekly benefits have never been on time, right now they are 2 checks behind and the last one was almost $200 short. This company does not care about taking care of their obligations or responsibilities, they have shown that they are only interested in collecting for Thier policies. If I could give them less than a star I would. I was seriously hurt working for a client of theirs and they are doing the absolute bare minimum while dragging their feet. I would not recommend them to anyone.
We had our catalytic converter stolen from our company van. The van is a year old and has 9,000 miles on it. Guard worked the mechanic and approved the claim but did so with what they called a “betterment”! Basically they deprecated the parts by 10% so in addition to our deductible of $1,000 we had to pay an extra $356.10. On top of that, I was never, (not even once) able to talk to a human about the claim and I called at least six time.
So the “betterment” was never explained. I feel like Guard gave me the middle finger! So? Them! I will be changing companies when the next renewal comes!

If I could give zero stars I would. They sub contracted to Ralph and Associates. WORST EXPERIENCE i have ever had with an insurance company and I'm a property manager so I have experience in this field. Never return phone calls or emails. I'm 6 months out and still have yet to get an update on supplemental. STAY AWAY from this insurance company.
The worst insurance company do not ever use them. My claim was filed in February when there was a national disaster declared for tx. 10 months later they have barely done anything. I rarely talk to an adjustor when I call, they frequently "lose" emailed documents, no one knows what is going on with my claim and I usually have to wait AT LEAST 30 mins before anyone will speak to me. Adjustors never call back and they make frequent mistakes with mailing, billing etc. There is not 1 dedicated adjustor I can call and when I do talk to someone it is from customer service and they have me on hold endlessly to speak to an adjustor who doesn't know what is going on, promises to check in and call back, but never does. Filing a complaint with TDI.

Really wish negative stars were an option! This is the worst company to deal with, with the worst customer service! They refuse to help after the claim being in for 7 months and being forced out of my home for 3 of those months! Ignored me, my restoration company and public adjuster. They refused to name an adjuster for the demand for appraisal and now I have to pay additional costs to file a lawsuit against this company for repairs, personal loss, and living expenses! Do not ever use this company, they don’t care about those they are supposed to be serving!

Amy, it’s just as bad on the car insurance side. Nobody can answer calls. My son was hit by a Guard client. We’ve probably left 100 messages. It was deemed (of course) easily not my son's fault yet nobody will repair the car or provide a rental car. This has been two months and there is no dispute. We just need a rental car and the car fixed. Worst service ever.

Hands down, the WORST customer service I have ever experienced in my life. 9 days after filing a claim, I have still not heard how to proceed with the damage from a wind storm. When calling looking for my adjuster after leaving her 11 voicemails in 9 days, the customer service rep I spoke to was rude and hung up on me. Haha what a joke. My agent is already looking to switch insurance companies for me as this was ridiculous.

Worst customer service experience I have had in a long time. I called to inquire about my balance so I could pay it. CSR was immediately combative. Very strange behavior and wasn't able to accomplish the simple task I had called for. I can't imagine how I would work with them if I had an actual issue or claim. This was just a simple billing question!
