Bragg Mutual Federal Credit Union

I can't say enough good things about Bragg Mutual. I went to them some years back for a CD. I had received some money from a automobile accident and it was a sizable amount, so someone close to me convinced me to get a CD to help out with our daughters future college. I went to them just to feel them out, and came away convinced that if I went anywhere else, I would be sorely mistaken. I went back the next day and got a 10 year CD. The interest rate on it was more than generous. It worked out perfectly, the timing of my daughter going off to college and the due date of the CD. Bragg Mutual was nothing less than super proffessional every time I corresponded with them. They always sent me quarterly statements, and kept me up to date on every thing. I would highly recommend to them to anyone.

I opened a checking and savings account with Bragg Mutual for a brief period after my account with another credit union had been compromised. I switched initially because I had heard good things about Bragg Mutual, but left with a different feeling. The associates that I interacted with were often friendly, but I felt as if they didn't quite know exactly what they were doing. The biggest issue for me was the lack of branches in the area...which is something that is very important to me. They also failed to offer some services for free that most credit unions waive (such as ordering checks and ATM fee reimbursement). Eventually, I decided to use another bank.

My parents started a savings account for me at Bragg Mutual FCU when I was an infant, and it is an account that I still have in operation. I have always received consistent and clear information when I visit the branch, and appreciate their attention to customer service and satisfaction. I don't visit the branch or make transactions frequently, but when I do the tellers are quick to identify my needs and treat me as a respected member of the credit union.

The quarterly statements I receive via mail are clear and easy to understand. A few years ago, I called (from out of town) as I'd lost my wallet, and the representative I spoke with told me she'd make a note of that in my account, and that whomever I spoke with the next time I visited a branch would request my picture ID and remove the note from my account. Upon my next visit (nearly a year later), the clerk requested my ID, asked about the situation, and showed genuine concern and interest in me as a client. Excellent service and reasonable rates. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a small town credit union.
