Title: Disappointing Experience with White Sands Federal Credit Union
I recently had a very disappointing experience with WSFCU that I feel compelled to share. As a member, I expected transparency and honesty, especially regarding compliance with important regulations like the Truth in Lending Act. Unfortunately, this credit union failed to provide clear and accurate information on the terms and conditions of my loan, which I believe is a serious violation.
Moreover, the overall member experience has been far from satisfactory. Customer service was unresponsive and unhelpful when I sought clarification about my loan terms. This lack of support only added to my frustration.
I urge potential members to consider these issues before joining. It’s crucial for any financial institution to adhere to regulations and provide a positive experience for its members. I am highly disappointed and hope the credit union takes these concerns seriously to improve their services in the future.

Terrible customer service. They will not mail me the title for a car I financed through them and paid off. Paid off the auto loan in August and I am still waiting for the title; it's now mid December. Spent hours on hold trying to speak to a supervisor. I will never have anything to do with this Credit Union again. It is a shame as I have always liked Credit Unions and as a retired military member, have always been helped by Credit Unions in the past.

I have been with White Sands Federal Credit Union for more than 30 years. Customer relations are great and we have never had any problems in our dealings with the credit union. VERY occasionally, we have had to address an issue, and they have always been resolved efficiently. For example, on one occasion, another account holder who happened to have the same name as my husband had their deposit made in our account. When brought to the attention of the credit union, it was quickly rectified and any overdraft fees were taken care of – that's customer service! I have no complaints with my credit union!

In order to acquire a membership and continue being a member of White Sands Federal Credit Union you need to open a savings account with them. This way you will get access to their other products and services as well. Their minimum balance requirements are pretty low and they even offer competitive dividend rates on their savings account. Their Easy Checking account requires a monthly fee of just $1.99. If you want to avoid this monthly fee you need to maintain an average daily balance of $300. They do not pay dividends on this account. In case you are looking for a dividend based checking account, you should go for their Preferred Checking account which requires an average daily balance of $300 to earn dividends. I am sure you would love to bank with them and will be satisfied with their products and services.

White Sands Federal Credit Union was great to me when I lived in the Las Cruces / El Paso area. The Credit Union has a decent online banking system and bill pay available. They also have ATMs everywhere! Not just in the geographical area of New Mexico and west Texas but they are all over the country because they are part of the Allpoint network! I go to any Walgreen’s or 7-11 and those ATMs are always fee free! They do not offer shared branching though so deposits can be tricky if you are not in the area and they do not have a mobile app either. So, I mail my deposits in when I am not in the area. I still keep an account at Bank of America but hate going there and using that account. It’s more of just a backup. White Sands is the best credit union for me!

My family had been with White Sands for a good while, and then when I became the agent for my grandparents, I decided it was time to close up shop with them. For about six years my grandparents had an account with White Sands with no problems at all. It was actually preferable to dealing with most banks and other financial institutions. They had offered so much, from mortgages and credit cards to incredibly low rates. Their customer service was always impeccable as well. Every time I had gone in, I was treated well; they were both polite and well-trained. Their website had always been easy to use and convenient for online banking. So why didn't I continue with them? A matter of convenience, the branch that was nearest to where my wife and I live wasn't really that close. But I do highly recommend them all the same.
