I wish I could give fewer stars. By far the worst experience I've ever had working with an insurance company or any business 'sales agent.' I would never recommend working with this company. They are absolutely the worst; they will not provide anything on time nor care about your actual situation. Run away.

What horrible people own or operate this company; pure greed is the only thing they know. They are literally stealing money. I will do everything I can to expose this company.

I currently have no income or health insurance. I became disabled in 2021 with seropositive rheumatoid arthritis. I was given Brown and Brown as an advocate by my former employer, the state of Delaware. I was so sick at the time, I did not realize that they were not attorneys, and yet I would be paying them an attorney's fee. So it's been 2 and a half years. I submitted all my paperwork initially by myself, mind you this was during grieving for the death of my husband. Until a few days ago, I was covered by the Hartford. I was notified just a few days ago that I will no longer have any income or health insurance and was told to submit an appeal. The response that I got from Brown and Brown was an email for low-income health insurance. I was notified by an attorney that it is their responsibility to file an appeal to the Hartford, not my responsibility. After sending an email today, I have yet to receive a response. This is disgraceful. I am contemplating contacting an attorney as I said I have no income. And I have had little to no contact with Brown and Brown during the process. I need to file an appeal on my behalf to the Hartford and it needs to be done by Brown and Brown, and it needed to be done yesterday, and yet still no reply after an email today. I only want to hear a response from them by email. I am reconsidering and looking into an attorney.

This service is a JOKE. Everyone I have dealt with at the company is incompetent, lazy, and apathetic. They are literally RUINING people's lives. Consider yourself warned - DO NOT hire them.

I experienced a loss of my spouse mid contract. I informed Brown and Brown of my situation, thinking that It would decrease my insurance rates for the rest of my contract. Not the case, the agent sent me an email telling me that my insurance rate was going up $560 for the year because I now have 1 less good driver on my policy! The way that she handled it was like she could care less for my situation and this is just another "To Do" item on her list. I switched to a great office that was able to give me BETTER rates than what Brown and Brown did the 1st time. This was VERY UPSETTING since I have been a client with Brown and Brown for over 20 years!

IMG turned Brown and Brown and underwriter made me aware of problems with home coverage that would have left me with next to nothing in event of total loss. All in the fine print. Cost me to leave, close accounts. Still have same underwriter with policy worded correctly . Brown and Brown useless

Thinking of hiring these people as a carrier? Run, run fast. They came highly recommended to us when we bought our first home, tree came down and braised the house, minimum damage. They refused to honor the claim, and we had the max in terms of coverage. Customer service was a joke, just ran us around and closed the claim.

Worst customer service of any company I have ever dealt with. Would not recommend them to anyone. Always gave the run-around and was never able to speak to the same person which necessitated going through everything each time. No one seemed to know what anyone else had done and didn't seem to know what the guidelines were for cancelation of my homeowners insurance. I lost money by changing to a local agent, but at least I don't have to deal with these incompetent people anymore.

I called the Ocala Florida Branch to get new insurance for a company that we are buying. It is an existing business, not a completely new business. I was told they could not insure us, because it was considered a new business for us, even though it is an existing business. She didn't even ask if we had owned other businesses in the past or had a track record that could be checked, just flat out said they could not insure us. What kind of company stays in business for long, when they don't take on new clients?

They were fairly polite over the phone and offered me a really nice rate, invited me in to finalize things. I went to the office and started getting things in order. The rate they were now telling me was a good deal higher than the rate they offered me on the phone. I was pretty angry and raised my concerns. To extend an olive branch, they offered me the phone rate for only 6 months, so I took it and continued to shop around. Dropped the policy after 6 months and went with another company. I dont like bait and switch, and that's what this felt like.

I had Brown and Brown for all about 5 minutes before I realized they were not the right car insurance company for me. When I was between insurance companies due to some financial complications, I was shopping around for a lower rate to try and save money. The rep at Brown and Brown was a little short with me when I went in to talk about switching to them. Their disclosures were not clear, and they had a lot of hidden fees and agendas. Lucky enough for me, I was able to read the fine print, and walk out of there without switching over. All in all, the customer service was mediocre at best, and they have a lot of sneaky fees that they word cleverly. I would avoid them.

Brown and Brown Insurance Services were not very impressive when I used them. I contacted them to save money on my automobile insurance. I was quoted a low price over the telephone, but when I went to sign the paperwork, they informed me that the quoted price was only for a year of prepaid insurance. I still ended up using them for roughly 6 months while shopping around. The customer service members were very sneaky and unprofessional. The rates are only competitive if you are able to prepay for the insurance needed. I would not recommend them to the average person.
