Working with this company has been nothing but a pain. To get my money, they have made me go through so many hoops, and they have dragged out the process so much that I am having to restart the process.

I think this company has the poorest customer service of any financial company I have dealt with. I have to send in a new power of attorney and a letter from my attorney confirming that the power of attorney is still valid every 30 days! I think this is absolutely ludicrous. All they want to do is use your money and make it very difficult for you to access any of your own funds. So imagine having to contact your attorney to obtain a new power of attorney, as well as a letter stating that the power of attorney is still in effect and valid. It's a waste of time, a waste of money, and I would steer anyone away from this company.

Archaic methods. Check mailed rather than EFT transfer. Took 5 days to receive. Now must wait as my bank places a hold on a check. Every other fund I have uses EFT, receiving funds in 48 hours. Moving my money to a more efficient institution.

They are criminals, they only want to keep your money and not disperse it when you request it. After all, it is your money, not theirs!

Trying to make a catch-up Simple IRA contribution for 2024. Requested on April 1st. They submitted the ACH request incorrectly to the bank, so the transaction was denied. I called them on the 4th and determined that they had identified the account as checking, rather than savings, causing the denial. They said they would correct the issue and resubmit. On the 11th, nothing was showing, so I called, and they placed the blame on the bank. I just got off the phone with the bank and determined that they never made a change, still identifying the account as checking, resulting in another denial by the bank as the information provided from Capital Group is incorrect. I have been on the phone for an hour trying to fix it and still have no answers. The deadline for the catch-up is the 15th. This is not good. Terrible customer service and ability to handle a simple task.

Rips you off. I took out a 401(k) loan on myself. I specifically requested $1000, and the payout is only $915. Why would I want only $915 when I requested $1000? It makes no sense to me. There is a fee that I was aware of, but I didn't plan on requesting a certain amount with the fee being taken out of my payout. It's definitely ripping me off right now.

For over a week, they have been making baseless excuses for not wiring my money to me, placing more and more hurdles in our path before being able to withdraw money we have not yet seen. After waiting a week with no valid reason for them not to wire my money, I requested that it be expedited today. They informed me that only a "manager" could facilitate that, and the only option was for them to email the manager and inquire if they would be willing to assist us. Then the manager gets to decide whether they want to help or not. We are expected to be awaiting that call, meanwhile, it is Friday again! Banks will be closed for the weekend, and we will have to wait even longer if the money ever arrives. This experience feels like a scam and is, in my opinion, unethical.
UPDATE: It is now 5 days later in the middle of next week, and still, there are problems and delays with getting our own money.

They will collect your money and not actually invest it. I have been out money for the last 50 days without them depositing it into the investment account. This company is a scam! The "financial advisor" won't even return contact.

These people are thieves and have no customer service skills. I took a loan out of my 401K and paid $30 for expedited shipping (2 days according to their web site). It is now a week later and still no check. I called in and got Edwin on the phone. He was just a rude human being with no customer service skills!!! Took 20 minutes to get a "manager" and i do not think he was one. If you have choices for your investments I would not choose Capital Group. I have stopped making 401k contribution and have chosen my own investor to make IRA contributions instead, that way I control my money, not someone who does not give a hoot!!!

Similar problem here. How did you end up getting your money? For over a week they've been making bs excuses to not wire my money to me. After waiting a week of there being absolutely no reason to not easily wire my money, I tell them that I want it expedited and wired today. They tell me that only a "manager" could do that for me and that the only way there would be a chance of that is for them to email this manager and ask him if he would please help us. Then the manager gets to decide if they want to help or not. We are supposed to be waiting for that call, meanwhile it's a Friday again! Banks are going to be closed for the weekend and we have to wait longer.

IRA to 401k rollover process is horrible. Worst company ever. They make you go though hoops just to roll over your IRA money to your own 401k. You have to have your bank Stamp signature guarantee or medallion guarantee on the form and them mail the form and then follow up. Wasted my time going to one of my banks and they didn't want to do it at the branch. They have to mail to the main office and get an approve. Getting Stamp signature guarantee or medallion guarantee here is not an easy process. It's a waste of time. They don't take notary either. Avoid Capital Group.
