Do Not Recommend. The 5 stars are a front! Worst credit card I’ve personally owned. Contacting company is anything but convenient. Making a payment is anything but convenient or timely. I set up electronic arrangements, it's the only way to make sure it’s paid on time.. but they will take the money from bank.. after pending for 3/4 days the money is still not available for use, the longest I’ve waited was literally 3.. not 2 weeks and 3 days. 3 entire weeks. I called customer service and he claims in order to have funds posted to account faster I have to call my bank, get verification it’s been paid, call them back fax, or email over the verification and it will take a few hours up to 72. Most times I wouldn’t notice because I didn’t need to use the card, but once I did and couldn’t access my funds. Livid! They’ve also lost track of money in my account, after noticing an off-balance they counted it down and had no explanation on where the funds could have went.. supposedly to be investigated, haven’t heard anything back in over 2 months account is balanced now but still off by a measly 5cent but still no explanation on how the funds were not accounted for if everything is done electronically. Not to mention the fact that I’ve requested a PIN number for my card for over a year and then some, after ordering it at least 7 times, one actually finally showed up right before my two year anniversary with them, so sweet.. but with that.. after so much time not having a pin, customer service recommended I take advantage of the cash advance feature. Not until my second advance I noticed and called.. they casually tell me “oh yeah there’s a $6 charge for every advance.“ After a good two years I’ve had enough. I read the reviews and seemed like a good idea, they said they loved it and all these cute things.. No. I Do Not Recommend.

It's highly recommended! Just pay your balance on time in full and don't go over 30% of your credit limit, otherwise will be a temporary bump on your credit score.

I agree with the reviews that say you need to apply for this card with a VERIFIABLE home address (not a mailing address) that matches with your own credit report. That's to prevent fraud. You need a driver's license with your actual home address on it that can be verified by the bank and the address on your driver's license also needs to match your credit report.
You also need to be realistic - don't make a payment at 11:45pm on the exact day the payment is due and then complain that the company credited you late. Don't mail in payments and wonder why they get it a week late. Pay online - it is very easy. Their app works very well.
The longest I have had to wait to reach customer service is 20 minutes on hold, but that is pretty standard during COVID.
I've never had a problem using this card, it is a regular Visa and is accepted everywhere. I make my payments 2-3 days before my due date and have never had a problem at all.
I've had this card for 28 months now and am almost ready to go on to non-secured cards - but it has helped me a lot and I have never had any problems.

The people posting negative reviews need to get with the times. It is 2021. Who mails in a payment in 2021 (when it is very easy to pay online), "hopes" it gets received on time, and then blames the credit card company if your mailed payment arrives late? Seriously. Look at the ridiculous types of things people are complaining about and you can easily see that the problem is with THEM.
I pay on time every month and have never had a problem. I've called customer service a few times and never had a problem. I use my card everywhere, pay IN FULL every month, and everything works fine.
If you are not paying on time, then posting unkind reviews as if it is not your own fault, then you are the problem, not a credit card company.
Every payment I have made online within the past 2 years has posted to my account within 24-36 hours of my paying it. Every. single. one. So I don't know why anyone else would not tell the truth about that. Maybe they're just bad because they messed up their own account somehow.

How do I make an OpenSky Credit Card payment?

You can make OpenSky credit card payments in any of these three ways:
1. Sign up for Auto-Pay in the online account management (click MyAccount from the blue button located at the top of the screen at openskycc.com). From there, schedule recurring, monthly payments.
2. Enroll in a recurring Bill Payment service with your personal bank to automatically pay your OpenSky credit card.
3. Send a check with the remittance slip that is included in your monthly billing statement.
How secure/safe is the OpenSky Secured card?

The OpenSky Visa Card is safe. It offers the same $0 liability guarantee as any other credit card. In other words, if unauthorized purchases are made on your account, you won't have to pay for them.
It is worth noting that OpenSky currently doesn't come with an embedded computer chip. But that shouldn't be too big of a concern. Traditional magnetic stripe credit cards are plenty secure, especially with the backing of $0 liability protection. You can learn more about why that's the case here.
At the end of the day, even if other cards may be slightly more secure, that concern does not outweigh the importance of getting approved for a credit card and beginning to add positive information to your credit reports each month. So if you have very damaged credit and can't get approved for a cheaper secured card, OpenSky is a solid choice.
How can I check my OpenSky credit card application status?

You can check your OpenSky credit card application status on this page: https://www.openskycc.com/app/checkapplicationstatus.
What are the OpenSky Credit Card payment methods?

You can pay your monthly bill electronically, by check or money order. There are more options for funding your security deposit, however: debit card, check, money order or wire transfer. Hope this helps.
