Paid off under protest. Collections told me my Offer in Compromise was "submitted" and that during the shutdown they wouldn't proceed with collections, although fees would continue to accrue. Days later, an "appraiser" showed up at my late father's residence—and a $231.66 "appraisal fee" was added to the final payout amount that I repeatedly requested. They also relabeled a $188.96 'FPI' fee that I questioned to 'Late Charges,' which violated the terms of the loan that no late fees should exceed 5%. While $400 was quoted as interest, in the final statement, only $240 of interest was applied. After 45 days of being notified (both verbally and in writing), they still sent two pieces of certified mail addressed solely to my late father. One was to notify him that he was in breach of the terms of his loan and needed to either pay it in full or renegotiate the terms. I filed regulatory complaints—always get everything in writing and triple-check the math.

Do not get this card! They are predatory and charge you 80 a month in fees! Stay far away. I'm canceling and never again. They tried giving me a missed payment, but I filed for a missing card so I couldn't make the payment. They will fix it, or I will not give them another dime.

Cory Lucas doesn’t return phone calls at all. Filled out the application and get an email weeks later to fill out the application again. Not happy with this company and Cory Lucas lacks proper form of communication.

Payments take at least a minimum of a week to show that BS even if you pay more for the debit card payment it will still take a good half a week to reflect

Because of self I was able to improve my credit score from very bad to fair over the last 2 years without paying money to an expert. I am now able to get approved for credits with rewards and credit increase without asking which is a great feeling! I have four credit cards including self credit cards, Thanks to self I have gotten my life back on track and on my way to buying my first home.

Self is good for teaching young people responsibilities. I love it because it helps me stay disciplined with staying under .30% spending on your Self credit card I earned in 3 months. Very helpful tools. And customer service are wonderful helpful people to deal with. I love ❤️ this device Self.

This is a great card, as you pay down your CD balance, you will get higher credit limits on your self card. The only drawback is they do not do cash ATM withdrawals on this particular card. You can only buy goods and services.

Self is great card to have they give spending limits on the card as you pay the loan . Part one is the loan after 3 payment you can choose to a credit card.
