I came from out of town to help my son get a new account and found Centier Bank in Mishawaka, Indiana. The staff there, Andrea and Susie, could not have been more friendly and helpful. I have never had bank associates go so far out of their way to help me meet my goals. On my way out, a man told me he had been with the bank for about 3 months and how pleased he was with the bank. Well, now, that is two of us saying they are great. My son and I could not be happier or more satisfied.

Absolutely terrible experience with Centier Bank! They shut down my debit card without any warning, even though I had plenty of funds in my account. I found out the hard way—while trying to use my card, it was declined for no apparent reason. No call, no email, no explanation—just embarrassment and inconvenience.
I have been with them for years, and this is not my first experience with this bank and branch over similar issues. Very unprofessional! What about communication? We use them for our personal and business accounts.
When I reached out for answers, the customer service was useless and unhelpful at the local Winfield branch and then calling customer service at corporate. This is completely unacceptable for a bank that's supposed to provide reliable financial services. If you want peace of mind and access to your own money, go elsewhere. I wouldn't trust Centier Bank with a piggy bank, let alone my finances. I do not recommend at all! They always want to blame the card company, even though Centier has admitted that this was a major mistake on their part, not to mention their total lack of communication.
Their solution? "Come in, and we'll be happy to give you a new one." Oh, okay, in that case, all is okay... Don't worry about all the things that are paid automatically; I don't mind spending my Saturday signing up with all my vendors that they just canceled without any communication. This is such a shady way to do business. Blame it on anyone but Centier. I hope that Centier will be bought out soon. Good riddance!

Centier Customer Service in the Goshen, Indiana branch has been nothing short of amazing. Personal, caring, and prompt follow-up for our CD investments. We have called into the branch several times, and it always seems like you're talking with family. We have discussed investments and ideas with Michel, Jocelyn, and Ana, and everyone truly shows caring support and commitment toward assisting us. A true small-town banking experience with big ideas, service, and.

Centier Withholds Funds! They have been withholding a Payable Upon Death account from a disabled beneficiary for over a year. Without permission or consent, they have been auto-paying his deceased mother's mortgage from said account, rather than the account left to the estate. Kelly is nothing short of foul and is unwilling to answer the most basic questions. This bank is so backwoods. No one in the entire Winfield branch, including Jill, the bank manager, has an answer as to why they are continuing to violate Indiana law. They have also refused the estate representative access to an additional checking account despite court documents. Borrowers, go elsewhere.

They closed my checking account and didn't give me a reason why, and I had it for less than a month. First, they told me that I visited a second branch, which I never did, to cash a check, which I didn't cash there. I just asked them to call and verify the check. Then they wrote a statement on my account, saying that I deposited a check when I never did, so that was a lie. They don't offer personal credit loans, they don't offer credit cards; they're more of a mortgage bank, and they're not good at that either. I wouldn't recommend this bank to anyone. It's better if you go to CHASE, Bank of America, or a credit union. But avoid this bank as if you were trying to avoid getting Covid! They deal in mortgages, but just imagine all the negative reviews they've received so far about their mortgage department. If they treat me like this with a checking account, just imagine how they treat customers trying to get a mortgage. Think about that for a minute! Don't waste your time here. Avoid these people like the plague, Covid, the Ebola virus, and every severe disease on the face of the Earth. Don't go to this bank! Oh, by the way, the branch I went to is located in Zionsville, which is right next to a CHASE BANK that sits on the corner. The CHASE bank is always jampacked; you can't even find a parking spot. About 10 feet away is Centier Bank. I've only been there a few times, but their parking lot is almost completely empty. Think about that for a second! Why is the CHASE BANK parking lot always jampacked, while the Centier Bank parking lot is almost deserted? That has to tell you something. Read all the other past reviews. I'm not the only one who's filed a complaint against them. I'm going to make sure I spread the word against this bank all over social media. Stay away from this and go to a real bank that cares about your needs and won't close your account a few weeks later without telling you why. Because now I have to change my direct deposit information, tax refund information, and I have to change everything because of them. Don't go there!

Kelley is the worst individual I have ever had to work with. She is in charge of home loan department. Kelley will take funds out of your account when she shouldn’t, she talks to you in a belittling way, she is never available to speak to, she is by far the worst I’ve seen in her position and believe someone else more educated and professional should take over. Please ? please ? please ? take your business elsewhere you will be treated better, save money, and won’t waist countless hours on the phone!

Centier Bank executives are Bumbling Imbeciles or simply ignore being truthful.. March 10, 2023 I received Centier Email notifying me "Excited refreshed website new look, [is coming] streamlined navigation, Your online banking Sign In remains the same - No Action is required to Sign In." So March 27 preparing to do my taxes I go to my check account(s) plural, on its refreshed exciting web site - 6 (SIX) times I tried to sign on my normal way - repeatedly wouldn't go through, so then I phone call the bank after 10 (TEN) minutes or so waiting on hold, reach a nice sounding LIVE person, who reported problem, while waiting & listening to your hustling commercials announced support open to 7 pm, but person told me Support leaves at 5 PM which was going to be in another 20 minutes, Delete this LIE off your recording then! So I tried 7th time after 5 pm hoping problem would be fixed, but I was thrown into the long original application process that I did maybe 2 years ago. "What's name of favorite childhood Dog & so on." Centier owners, like too many large companies get mindlessly pulled around by the nose of greedy techies who need something to do with their time & propose schemes where they earn excessive money needlessly- "Centier company you need a new look." Me, this customer, didn't ask for a New Look. Ethical techies would say, my work here is done, call me should I need to fix a problem. Centier's technical support did a D-grade trouble shooting to see what Centier customers may get trapped & blocked out of your "New Look" gap. All I know is I've spent over 4 (FOUR) Hours -240 minutes - on Centier's New Look wasting this customer's time. Tomorrow I drive to a branch, go inside, stand & wait for my account paper printouts which then delays my tax appointment for at least 24 unnecessary hours. I hope other Centier customers don't get such a bad now running into 5 days delay of Centier "No Action required change." If I ever, ever be able to log on to my Centier on line banking again, Centier's New Look will simply make me gag & vomit. It's too bad because the people who work at your branches are really nice & helpful & I appreciate your supposed security concerns - But Centier's upper echelon decision makers you'all made expensive pathetic decisions on this upgrade. Centier had a system that wasn't broken and this is what you did to me fixing your new streamlined look which be called IMPOSSIBLE to access.

Go somewhere else this credit card is problematic what they don't tell you is they give you a very small cash advance Even if you have a lot of money in their bank and have a great credit rating every other card gives you half of your credit limit in cash advance and what they don't tell you is when you need help the bank says they don't know what's going on because it's new and the card letter says they don't know what's going on that center should know so the whole thing is problematic and they will not fix it for you once you figure out after 20 phone calls who you're supposed to talk to!! I would definitely have gone somewhere else you get a hard hit on your credit and you already have open credit but they don't give you any cash advance to pay off your other credit card no matter how good your credit is

DO NOT BANK HERE!!! Three Strikes for me. Centier's out. I've had nonstop issues with this bank since I was forced to open it due to it being a previous employer's bank (Who also screwed me over financially, go figure). At the beginning of the pandemic (Late February-March 2020), I became unemployed & watched my money carefully. At $20 left in my account while I awaited the first unemployment check, Centier charged my first overdraft fee which caused my minimal needed purchases that still kept my account above $0 to cost $35 a pop. That being said, I disputed it. A YEAR AND A HALF GOES BY BEFORE THEY REFUNDED IT ($175!!!) Fast forward to Strike 2 in November 2021, Centier DELETED cleared deposits that were in my account AND THEN charged me overdraft fees. Claimed it was a "processing error" when I called & they said since it was a bank processing error, they were sorry & put my account back to normal, refunded the fees. I gave them another shot. Big Mistake. Should have closed my account then. December 2021, I had 2 charges outside of mine & Centier's control that hit my account, which I called Centier to warn would overdraft my account BUT I had wired alot of money to cover it & put me well into the plus side until these charges refunded. They took the wire, deposits I made as well, $140 in fees. When asked about the fees, they USED THEIR TWO PAST MISTAKES AGAINST ME & "It's Bank Policy after you've been refunded once as a courtesy..." AS A COURTESY?!?! YOU MADE 2 MISTAKES AND THIS WAS THE ONE THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN THE COURTESY SINCE IT WAS OUTSIDE MY CONTROL THESE 2 CHARGES (REFUNDED) HIT. So they refunded one of the 4 $35 fees & Still owe me $105. My wire & deposits were held up in fees & when Centier wouldn't allow me to close it with THEIR FEES holding it a minimal amount under I deposited more money they shouldn't have got to close it & get the heck away from them. I left Centier & cannot stress enough how they play with your account. Definitely not okay with me & I went to a couple other banks I definitely see alot better outcomes with. Hope one day like the bank processing error I'll get an apology along with a check for $105 I WILL deposit in my NEW bank. Couldn't make headway with the corporate structure but the branch ladies I worked with were the only saving grace for a poorly run corporate structure that definitely is NOT consumer friendly as "their policy".

Garbage bank , have over 3 accounts btw here and chase, credit union. Have over 8k a month in transactions. No mobile banking because they will not let me set it up. Had one transaction resulting in overdraft. Didn't know it. Then had 10 transactions btw $5-30 resulting in $350 in overdrafts. Then 4 more overdrafts for $140 for 4 transactions totalling $100 because the previous overdrafts. Others institutions charge around $200 in return fees. They just compile overdrafts and refuse to pay small transactions. PayPal auto charged this account resulting in initial overdraft. Costs me another $50 in fees to make instant deposit here from other banks because I can't make it to branch due to work during week. Call them and they treat my like a piece of garbage with a cocky attitude. because of a overdraft. Hang up on me. Pathetic , garbage bank
I'd been here 20yrs.

I have had my mortgage with Centier Bank for one year now and just received my new payment book. Last March I received an escrow analysis which told me I had a shortage which I then sent a check in and paid. I never received any other correspondence from them about any more shortages on my escrow. After receiving my new payment book I find that my mortgage payment went up over $50.00 to cover shortages in my escrow. I called them to find out why I was not told that the shortage I paid in April was not the actual shortage and was passed from one person to the next and was even hung up on. I spoke to 4 people at this family owned hometown bank and 2 of them were extremely rude side stepping answering my question and only answering it by saying escrow payments can change. I just wanted to know why I was told this was my shortage when in fact is wasn't. This is a very rude and poorly managed bank. I only hope that I will one day be able to refinance my home with someone else and part ways with this disaster of a business.

I really enjoy my checking account at Centier. It is simple and affordable which is what makes it appealing to me. I never receive a service fee and basic checks are $11. For someone just starting out, it is nice not to have to payout excessive fees or $20 plus for checks that I only write once in a while. Also, you can link your checking account with a "Round-up" Savings account where purchases made on the debit card round up to the nearest dollar and the difference is put in the savings. Those items add up quickly, helping build a savings account at the same time!

Yes, a Centier Bank account is FDIC-insured up to $250,000 per customer, per account ownership category. This means that even if Centier Bank fails, you will eventually be able to recover an individual account's balance up to $250,000.
If you have a joint account, each co-owner of the account is considered a separately insured customer. As a result, you can collectively recover the account's balance up to $500,000 in the event of a bank failure, assuming you have no other shared accounts.
