Don't do it. Save yourself a giant headache and the hassle of doing business with a company that lacks honesty, ethics and any type of accountability. Mt. Pleasant office -- steer clear. Highly recommend taking your business anywhere else.

My daughter initiated her Meemic auto insurance claim on September 6, 2022. Although the Meemic Insurance website boasts 24/7 availability, it is November 6, 2022. All we have to show for her call to Meemic Claims on September 6, 2022 is a consistent, condescending resolve from Meemic Claims to continue to deflect actually doing what we have paid our insurance for decades for. We were guided in good and honest faith to their"guaranteed preferred auto body collision shop". When we returned the Hertz rental car and went to pick up her car from Jim's Collision Auto Body shop, her car was not repaired. There were obvious scratches on the bumper of her car and blue paint on her car, that was not there before she was rear ended in a traffic accident that she made the claim for on September 6, 2022. Meemic's "preferred guaranteed auto body" told us that Meemic "declined to authorize the repairs".
When we asked if Meemic had actually come out to see her car, rather than to simply speculate as to what happened or did not happen we received no response from Meemic.
When she dropped her car off, she was referred to Hertz Rental in Ferndale. The car that she received from Hertz Rental was filthy and unkempt. She contacted Meemic when the Hertz Rental car maintenance alerted ⚠️ her that the rental car required maintenance, which was responded to dismissively. During my daughter's after-work errand, the Hertz rental car malfunctioned. Consequently, she was stranded.. It was pitch black outside. Meemic's apathy and lack of professional courtesy put my daughter in harm's way, adversely impacting my daughter's environmental well-being in an era of human trafficking. To date my daughter neither has a rental car or her car of which we pay Meemic insurance to have.
Teachers talk with each other.
Tomorrow one of her colleagues will more than likely ask: where is your car?
The answer to that inquiry has an infinite impact and furthers the residual effects of this review.
I am a United States Armed Forces Military Veteran I have talked with Veteran Advocates concerning this horrific matter.

I’ve never filed a claim in the 10 years I’ve had Meemic. In September I lost a diamond cross at a dentist office. The assistant did not put it on me securely after an exray. I called Meemic claims and i was immediately told

Get proof that I owned the cross - I sent them several pictures of me wearing it
Get proof of purchase- I was able to get the original receipt from the jewelry store
They would not cover the deductible-
Then they said to file a police report against the dentist office.
Before I had a chance to do that, the agent called me back and said it didn’t matter I had followed all these steps, that they would not cover the loss because I had no proof of where I lost it!

The cross was worth $895. Why do we pay for jewelry coverage if they won’t allow you to use it. I’m canceling.

I joined Meemic car insurance in the beginning of this year around (April), been paying full coverage on time every month. However, my car was severely hit in August while parked. Made a police report and made a claim for the accident because it was a HIT & RUN meaning I wasn’t able to get the other persons license plate or anything! They took my car in to fix damages but said the car was totaled! Okay so I wait 3-4 weeks with no communication about my vehicle what so ever. Now they telling me they’re not going to fix my vehicle for whatever reason. I wouldn’t recommended joining this I feel my money went no where! Now I’m out of a vehicle an it wasn’t my fault!!!

DON’T FALL FOR THEIR LOW RATES! AVOID THEM AT ALL COSTS!

As a teacher, I appreciate companies that want to help teachers, but I do not think MEEMIC does. This past August, as many well know (it was a national news story), a tornado touched down where I live. There were very high winds, torrential rains, etc. I wondered about roof damage, as I was missing siding on the rear of my home. After a pre-inspection from a roofing company, there was some damage to warrant filing a claim. I did so with MEEMIC August 23, 2021. After numerous calls, It took them nearly two weeks just to schedule their inspector. Their inspection was delayed for weeks due to more severe weather. Mind you, my neighbor NEXT DOOR, as well as several neighbors(4-5) on my same street, had their insurance companies inspect and REPLACE their entire roofs within about two weeks! Meanwhile, I’m still trying to get an inspection! I finally got an inspection OCTOBER 1, over a month after the initial claim. After the inspection, after no communication, I call and am told that an engineer needs to do an inspection. What?! They’re willing to pay an outside engineering firm to do another inspection?! None of my neighbors, who weathered the SAME storm, had this happen to them. The engineer didn’t come until October 26, more than TWO MONTHS after the initial claim! Now, it is November 3, and MEEMIC just reviewed the engineer’s report and now want to send it for further review to other engineers!! I do not understand how my neighbors sustained wind damage but I did not. It sounds like they do not want to pay. They’re willing to pay outside contractors before helping a loyal customer. I have been a customer for nearly twenty years and this is how I’m treated? I will cancel them ASAP and move on as this is how they treat their customers. Avoid them!

My auto/home insurance keeps going up every six months. We were penalized for filing two claims that police report stated we weren’t at fault. My wife's credit score went down due to a creditor mistake and even though it’s back to 769 we were told I have to wait a year for meemic (Gordon at Ann Arbor) to review credit again. Auto from $356 to $524/Home from $900 to $1400. No home claim.

My mother was in a near-fatal auto accident almost one year ago. Our claims adjuster has been the worst. He never answers phone calls, and it's extremely difficult to get any kind of response from anyone. I've submitted several forms which I'm supposed to get reimbursed for, but have not received a single penny. Nor has anyone even explained why I've not received payment. I would definitely NOT recommend this company.

Bad insurance company, I pay for unlimited full coverage PIP and they refuses to pay tje medical bills. Don't trust them, they stole our money .

They send out adjusters that can't do their job and tell you something is covered when it`s not their call. Was asked to contact customer service again so they could look my coverage over and all the guy could say is sorry not covered.
