They are the absolute worst bank I've ever banked with. They bought my old bank, Santander, in November 2025 and the transition was horrible. There were several issues with direct deposits and auto debits from the start. My account was immediately overdrafted and several credit card payments were returned. This caused unnecessary fees with my credit card companies and issues with my credit lines. The fees they charge for overdrafts and returned payments are the highest in the industry at $36. Their customer service is a complete joke and they cannot do anything over the phone and they make you go into the branch to ask for fee reversals and to close your accounts. Many customer faces issues with the transition and had to visit the branches, who were too understaffed to deal with the issues, causing hours of wait time. My issues were not revolved as promised during the first visit and I had to return to the bank the following week to wait again. This is not my experience with any other bank that I bank with, so I know that their practices are not normal. I have rarely had to visit any bank branch in person to resolve an issue, so I know that this is not normal customer service. I would avoid this bank at all costs. I have since joined 2 incredible credit unions that I have had no issues with (I have never had to visit either branch thus far, as their customer service is superb). I also never had an issue banking with Santander for over 10 years until they came along. Please avoid this bank. If you are in the LV area, try People's First.

This bank is a complete disaster. Internal theft and fraud concerning customers' personal accounts and information by company employees. No 24-hour customer service, and they have the nerve to ask why you didn't call over the weekend. Admit the wrong doing and fix it.

This bank is a scam they will allow your account to overdraft and charge a 36 dollar fee, then refund the charge that over drafted then allow it to be charged again to create another 36 dollar fee. Refused to pay the fees so they took the money out of my mother's savings account because my name was on it from when I was a child.. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS BANK!!!!

Today's visit to Community Bank was the last straw. I had an appointment—set up a week ago, with reminder texts and emails—but when I walked in, no one had any idea why I was there. The person who was supposed to help me was in a hurry to leave and clearly did not want to be bothered. I was there to handle trust-related banking—something that should not be this complicated.
This was not my first bad experience. Two years ago, while setting up my late mother's revocable trust, the same employee had no clue what to do. It got so bad that my mother had to threaten to move her accounts just to get any progress.
To make matters worse, this bank has repeatedly frozen or stopped payments on my debit card for no clear reason—causing more unnecessary frustration and inconvenience.
Yes, I got angry. And while I regret raising my voice, I do not regret pointing out that someone who still cannot do their job after two years should not be handling trust accounts.
I am done. I am moving all my accounts elsewhere and would not recommend Community Bank to anyone, especially if your needs go beyond basic checking or savings.

Community Bank N.A. (CBNA) closed the two branches about two years ago in the nearby small towns in Upstate, NY leaving the towns without a bank. People used the bank. CBNA closed the bank branches around the same time the drug dealers left, maybe a coincidence, but I doubt it. The area always had a bank since the 1800s. CBNA is also involved in a used car scam that elaborately took my Honda Fit 2018 (with less than 38,000 miles) that had no lien. I used CBNA for two car loans that were substandard in rates. I paid those back anyway. I have another loan with them, but I have not paid that because they are involved in stealing my car. I am a small ecology business owner, and how am I supposed to live and have a business in rural NY that has little transportation? They sent me a summons to answer a few days before Christmas when it is difficult time of year to find a notary, lawyer, etc. This is regarding a small personal loan that I am not paying because CBNA is involved in the theft of my car in a used car scam. I am on a shoestring budget, a senior, mixed-race female. I wanted to relocate out of NY/NYS, but have received little help in doing that so far. The banks in the area are horrible. I still use CBNA because it is better than the others, but it is awful. I did not dislike banks until I moved to Upstate, NY. It is against my religion to use loans, etc., but due to elder abuse, and it started when I turned 60 last year, I have been forced to use financing. I hate financing, and I hate all of the excessive paperwork that goes with it. I do not see CBNA helping the community. In the next larger town about 20 minutes away by car, they helped put a creepy car wash that usually pollutes the water with detergents, near a waterway. The top of it looks like Homeland Security funded part of it also. There was and is all ready a very large car wash a few blocks away. They also give lousy investment advice. CBNA has helped to ruin my retirement, has helped to leave me without a car in a rural area with little transportation.

This really is to cover all services. They are terrible, no 24 hour customer hotline. To have an issue on a weekend is to be penniless for two and half days. The computer voice will string you along for 30 minutes just to tell you to call back on Monday when they are open. The bank makes an error and shuts down all your cards and accounts. After the mass firings last November, no one in the branches has a clue of what's going on. Horrible service is mandatory, and to be treated so rudely for asking questions is disheartening. Next they will kiosks and no humans at all in the banks. Just wait for that mess. And double fees for everything. 2.00$ just to use their ATM. At your own bank? It only shows up on statements. What a horrible criminal empire it is.

They do not compensate customers when they make mistakes with your account. I had an automatic payment set up with my city water, sewer, & garbage pickup. Someone at the bank sent a notice to the City of Ellisville instructing them to change my account number and to start drawing my payment from someone else's account. I spent several hours on the phone and had to make numerous trips to the city hall and the bank to get this corrected. No one at the bank would acknowledge this mistake. It seems to me that some sort of compensation would be appropriate in a case like this. They merely said, "I'm sorry."

The worst banking experience! Do not bank with them. Machines are always out of order. If you have an unauthorized transaction, good luck with that; the customer service is HORRIBLE! I will be closing the account I have with them. I've been with them for over 15 years, only because the bank was close to home, but trust me, you can find better options. This banking center does NOT care about their clients. I'd give zero stars if it were possible.

This bank took over the note on my father's modular home. When they took charge, they reversed a payment and never reapplied it, even though the funds were never returned to my father's account. We tried to get it fixed for years but they kept insisting we were behind on the payments by one month. We always paid the note early. They suggested we could come in and talk to someone at a branch, but we live in PA and the closest branch is eight hours away. Finally, we sold the place, gave in, and paid the $2,000 late fee because I was so worn down by the runaround; it was insane. Then we had to pay an additional $175 to get a new title because they would not notify Penndot to release the title, forcing us to file for a lost title. I'm very displeased with this bank. I would never choose to do business with them; they were imposed on us. I strongly advise against engaging with them.

I have been a customer for 30 years. I went in to cash a refund check from our car insurance. The check was written to my wife and myself. We both signed it, but because my wife was not with me, they wouldn't cash it. I asked to speak with a manager, but the head cashier said they were all busy. This has happened before, and the manager came out and cashed it with no problem. In the old days, the employees would bend over backward to keep their customers; now, you are just a number. I am now looking for a new bank.

I recently had a truly awful experience with this bank. Despite closing my account, they continued to charge me without sending any notice. To make matters worse, I discovered late fees on my credit history spanning six months, all because the first person I spoke to failed to properly close the account.
When I called to address the issue, the representatives were shockingly rude, dismissing my concerns with comments like "leave the old matter for goodness' sake." It's clear they were trying to shift the blame onto customers rather than taking responsibility for their mistakes.
This bank operates in a questionable manner; even after closing your account, they'll find ways to keep charging you, resulting in unwarranted late fees. Save yourself the headache and avoid banking with them at all costs.

I've banked with Community Bank for 20 years now and it's finally time to find a new bank! My account was overdrawn due to my mistake but $36 to cover $47 is a tad ridiculous. I can count on one hand how many times I've overdrawn in 20 years! I get that it was my screw up but $36 when my pay was deposited 2 days later. Highway robbery for sure!

The website is primitive. Most services need to be initiated in person or via phone. But via phone you cannot do many services so they need you to go in person and waste your time. It's a 19th century bank. I tried to like them to support a local company but they are so inconvenient that we are moving our business to BoFA (where we are actually treated well and we have good customer service as business owners).

Beware. This bank likes to change due dates on statements then charge late fees. When you call customer service, they cannot explain anything properly and just say the billing cycles change from month to month. The first one from payment to next payment due date was 28 days the following was 21 days the following 15 days then back to 30 days. I have serval other credit cards and don't experience this issue. I transferred all my charges to another credit card this bank doesn't deserve my business.
