HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! Simply wanted to add my card to Apple Pay. Over 4 phone calls, 1 disconnect (without provocation), multiple layers of identity verifications and over 2-3hrs of combined time dealing with their team, the issue is still not resolved. ANYONE ELSE BUT THIS COMPANY!!! VERY REASON WHY SO MANY ARE PUSHING FOR AI!!! GET RID OF BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE AGENTS!!! --- File a complaint with BBB and CFPB to get proper service.

I am extremely dissatisfied with Fortiva and their customer service. When attempting to discuss billing issues, I was treated as if I had committed a serious offense. I have been making timely payments on my car loan for several months, with a consistent payment date around the first of the month. However, without explanation, Fortiva changed my payment due date to the 20th of the month, resulting in an unjustified late fee. Despite my requests, they have refused to revert to the original payment schedule. As a result, I intend to settle my outstanding balance and close my account. Furthermore, I plan to file a formal complaint with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), and the Better Business Bureau (BBB) to caution others about the company's business practices.

I contacted Fortivia to request a later due date for 2026 after working on my budget for the New Year. I started with chats with the system and then requested a representative. After waiting with the first representative, Jacob, who did nothing, I was kicked off the chat. I started over and got Daxton and questioned if my account had been noted from the previous chat. He had me on hold forever before telling me my due date could be changed but it would take 2 billing cycles and I still needed to make my payment on the current due date or my due date wouldn't be changed. I asked for a supervisor and got David who assured me he could help and asked to review my account. However, he never returned to the chat to assist me. So today, I tried again and requested supervisor David. Representative Tianna advised that she would help. I thought I was finally getting somewhere. But then she comes back with the same scripted response from the other two representatives. They seem to want to charge fees and risk damaging the credit I've built up from paying on time. All I wanted was a due date change. I was just amazed at how they treat customers who are good with their payments. Stay away from this company!

I obtained a Fortiva loan as part of signing up with Vivint. The customer service is terrible. Their chat agent seems to be handling many customers simultaneously because it takes at least a couple of minutes to receive a response when already engaged in a conversation. Fortiva stopped accepting automatic bank payments without notifying me. Although my recurring payments had been working for almost 1 year, when they changed their policy, my bank had to start sending paper checks, which caused my payments to be recorded past my due date. Consequently, I began to incur late payment fees, and within a couple of months, it accumulated to over $100. It took approximately 2 hours on the phone with them and my bank for them to acknowledge that they had made the change. They struggled to follow the conversation, and as such, they did not issue me a credit; however, my Bank of America refunded the late fees. I changed my payment date to 5 days before the due date, and now I am noticing past due amounts again. I am going to have to spend another couple of hours dealing with this issue. Please do not sign up for Fortiva. There is a deceptive practice between Vivint and Fortiva.

I didn't know there were annual fees. I already had an account with them, but when I went to another store that was also with Fortiva, I could not use the same card in the store. I had to open an entire new account with Fortiva again. Now I have two annual fees and am still receiving annual fees after I have already paid both off and they are supposedly closed. I had to close the card to stop receiving annual fees! I have to call the other card and see what's going on! Now it's affecting my credit! I don't understand why it doesn't just link into one account!

I have two cards with Fortiva, and they have been wonderful, until yesterday when one of the cards was frozen for unusual activity. Okay, I give up. I called their service desk and asked what the activity was. Their reply was, 'We mailed you a letter which you should receive in 14 days to explain the problem. Call us back then.'
This smells like fraud, and after reading the other comments, they are trapping us to lower our credit. Then, I'm sure, we will be offered a service at a high rate to correct the problem they created. Pay your balance off and cancel these cards.

My card expired July 2024. I paid it off 1 month later. No contact until July 2025. Am being charged for card I did not renew plus late fees. I thought I had been hacked. Have reported to BBB.

STAY AWAY FROM Fortiva.
A 0-star rating is my actual opinion.
I received a notice stating that they WILL charge me an annual fee. I called a week later to cancel my credit card with them. A month later, I received a statement stating that I have an annual fee balance that I have to pay. I sent a check 10 days before the due date. However, they sent me another bill saying that I have to pay another late fee for that annual fee on an account that no longer exists.
I called, and they agreed to remove the late fee in 2 days. They acted like they were doing me a favor by wasting my time.
The problem is that this late fee inquiry may negatively affect my credit score.
This company tried to exploit people.
Does anybody know where to report this incident?

The worst card I have seen... lots of fees and they actually charge you for a credit line increase regardless of your on-time credit payments. I accidentally accepted their increase and then I noticed it cost me $50. When I called them to tell them I did not want the increase, they didn’t speak enough English to fully understand, so they decreased my limit. I will be canceling two cards with this company very soon. I can’t afford to do business with them, especially with the ridiculous monthly fees on top of yearly fees.

We were in the market for a new living room set. Went shopping and the salesman talked us into the more expensive option. Didn’t have that much $$ on hand so we financed a portion of it with them…and they use fortiva. We didn’t choose them, it was the only option… I want to make that clear. They gave us 12 months zero interest. On the first bill there was a $78 annual card fee…we don’t have a card and never received one and literally only had the account for two weeks and they already tacked on $80 in fees because also get this in order to receive my bill in the mail every month I also get charged a $2 statement fee. So here’s the part that really ***** me off, they also charge 36% interest on that hahaha so it’s an additional $2.06 every single month getting added to my balance and for what?? So I get the freaking bill?!! In order to make a payment you MUST create an online account, (or mail it in) no making a payment in the actual store where we made the purchase. Ok you think no big deal right…WRONG!! They make it as hard and confusing as possible to get the account set up. I’m a modern woman under 40 and skilled with computers but this was ***** me the **** off!!!! I promise you half of the people I know wouldn’t have been able to get it set up! ALSO if you make your payment after 5 pm eastern standard time on the date it’s due it’s considered late…in what world?!?! Thank god I noticed this when I made my very first payment and made a note of it, but again most people wouldn’t notice and may have gotten a late fee and interest for that. I can pay any of my other bills as long as the payment is made before midnight and it’s not late. It’s so dumb and feels so unfair like these guys are pirates and they are literally getting away with it. Historically speaking the mob didn’t even take 36% interest!! Class action lawsuit anyone? Let’s get some of our fees back!!! Beware, beware, beware

I received my card in May, paid the minimum due for May and June, but did not make the July payment on time. With all the fees they added, my card went over the credit limit. I received a notification from TransUnion that my account had been closed. I called Customer Service and was told that because I went over my credit limit and missed the July payment, the account has been closed. Sadly, I charged $36.95, $40.00, and $60 in May; in June, I charged $268.48 and $10.25 and in July. The total for goods charged in three months was $355.68. My total due is $635.68; the total fees and interest were $280. According to customer service, the fees will continue, even with the account being closed, if I don't make the minimum payments. I would never recommend this company to anyone.

This company is a scam. I paid off my balance in February, and in August, they charged me an annual maintenance fee of $79.00! For what? I told them to close it, but they gave me such a hard time. It's almost impossible to find on the website where to close your account. I thought once you paid off a balance, that should close the account, or at the very least, stop any charges. I had to threaten legal action before they would close it.
