Wow, when I thought things couldn't get any worse. I was contacted by the AVP of Real Estate Lending Kelly Murakami who I subsequently called back on 08/06/2019 at her request. I thought Ms. Murakami may attempt to correct the poor judgement and discriminatory behavior FreeStar Financial Credit Union (FFCU) visited upon me, I was wrong. I guess poor business practices are standard operating procedure at FFCU. On a positive note: My conversation with Ms. Murakami only strengthened my resolve to ensure no other customer suffers the same indignity which has now been repeatedly visited upon me by FFCU. Anyone who is looking for an honest credit union, I implore you to not consider FFCU.

In dealing with the mortgage department representative at the Sterling Heights Branch, incompetence does not begin to describe how my experience was processed. The short version is: I was pre-approved for a mortgage by Joshua Puranen of Freestar Financial Credit Union (FFCU). Upon spending many hours searching for a home, finding the perfect home to purchase and spending an excessive amount of money, FFCU would not process my mortgage for a reason not listed on the pre-approval. I believe I was discriminated against, however that remains to be seen. I was definitely cheated by FFCU. I am speaking as a member of FFCU long before it was FFCU. I have been a member since it was called Central Macomb Community Credit Union (CMCCU). Finally, FFCU could have easily financed my purchase to make-up for their error and; it is for this reason I feel they discriminated against me as they possess detailed information about me as I have been a member for many years. If you are looking for a mortgage make FFCU your very last option. I will be looking for another financial institution to transfer to for my banking needs
