I would give zero stars if I could. I am trying to prepare myself to close this account, and I dread changing all my automatic payments; it will be daunting.
They are useless; the customer service is condescending and rude. I have been stranded in the mountains with no gas money and no help because they canceled my card for fraudulent use. It took two weeks for them to mail me a card, but they couldn't mail me a card where I was stranded because of their super special military-grade security. I called to ask about shared branching locations near where I was stranded, and the person told me to look it up on the internet.
I spoke with the manager, and he was apologetic, but there was nothing he could do. Why have any managers, if the situation is out of control over there? I opened a different account at another bank so that this wouldn't happen again.
They have blocked payments as suspicious, and I am stuck trying to figure it out in stores and restaurants while everyone in line is waiting for me to spend twenty dollars on lunch. What do people do when this happens? They just say it is for my own good. Perhaps, but they can't hold my money hostage.
Today I needed to transfer money instantly to my external account (the safety net), and they couldn't even do that. They claimed that I must have made a typo or entered the password incorrectly, so now I need to wait three days while they deposit a dollar into the external account and then verify it.
I moved my Zelle account to Harborstone to see if that would work, and nope, I can't transfer money to myself because I can't verify that either. I have wasted days of my life on these people. I have never willfully signed up for such frustration.
I also don't want to be a part of a credit union that donates money to political and social justice organizations of any kind.
There is a reason they changed the name to PNW Premier, or at least it makes sense they would want to rebrand so no one will notice. Here is my advice: save yourself the stress, anxiety, and protect your money from this extremely poorly managed bank. You will avoid a costly mistake. I don't trust them, and as soon as I can take a day off to transfer all my auto payments, I am leaving. I fear they will make that impossible too. They don't care about people unless it benefits them. Don't believe a word they say!

I deposited $5,000.00 a couple of years ago where I thought it would be a safe place. I checked on it today, expecting a nominal amount of interest. There was a balance of $4,730.00. It turns out they took $270.00 out of my account because I wasn't using it. They call it a dormant account fee. They admit they were paying me interest during the time they were calling it dormant.

The worst, if I could give them zero stars, I would. They hold checks even after verifying funds and deposit them into the wrong accounts. They take forever to answer the phone or get back to you. They used to be good. Now, I would rate them the worst. They charge you fees even if your money was in your account and a check goes through the same day you made the deposit. Rip-off!

I did a balance transfer with 0% APR until 2024. Everything was fine until I got locked out of my account online because the questions to get me in weren't set up by me. It took me around and around until I got so frustrated that I called in to get tech support, and the person I waited 10 minutes to talk to was so condescending and full of themselves that I got nothing done. She refused to give me a supervisor and just talked over me. I will do a balance transfer out of this credit union as soon as I can.

WORST CREDIT UNION EVER!
I get switched around over and over. Harborstone will tell me it's the fraud department, fraud department says it's the dispute department, dispute department says it's Harborstone that needs to issue the refund.
Talked to a guy today who said card member services should be able to issue a refund, i called them and they transferred me around to multiple people. After this by the third person and two calls dropped I was told I needed to call harborstone for the provisional credit. Called them they stated they couldn't do anything and that it was the fraud department for card member services, I was transferred again and told I needed to tell them " I have disputed this before haven't heard updated status. Looking to receive provisional credit because of the merchant not working with me to provide monetary resolve". I did that once I called in they stated it wasn't their department because there was no fraud. I have been transferred not to the dispute department for card me ever services
I am basically getting sent over and over in circles and no one is helping me, just constantly transferring. I have been dealing with this my entire Monday and still not an answer from anyone. Also card mem ever services hangs up on me, I had one card member services woman tell me the fraud department didn't have a phone number and they only had an email and fax. When I asked to speak with someone else she said have a great day then she hung up on me.
Finally talked to a person from Harborstone saying “the fraud department might not issue a refund because it’s just a dispute”. I asked her if they have ever given a dispute a refund before. She said yes. So what’s the issue? I believe this credit union is prejudice and has ZERO regard for their customers.
I will tell you as a person who has had an account for three years with them, they are a NIGHT MARE. And thanks Rebecca for being condescending.

I was approved for a personal loan on 9-7-2023 for $10,000 with loan officer Mrs. Rivera. I requested for the loan to be sent to me overnight to my mailing address on 8-7-2023. Mrs. Rivera told me that it would be a fee for the loan to be shipped to me overnight through ups. She emailed me the different cost for the overnight shipment and I choose the (2nd day overnight-$75.76). I spoke with Mrs. Rivera this morning on 9-8-2023, and she confirmed that it would be mailed out today between 12-1pm. I called her at 2:00pm and asked her if she had the tracking number for the check? She told me that she had just came back from lunch and she would send it to me in a few minutes. I then called her back to inquire if ups had already come to pick up the check, and she didn't answer the phone. Now when she was processing the loan application before it was finalized she was very fast and prompt to responding to me. Now that the money is ready to be funded she literally stopped all communication with me. I called her numerous of times and emailed her in which she never responded. So I contacted live chat on my online portal and spoke to (Marcus), and was asking him if he could get the tracking number for me. I paid $75.76 for the check to be sent overnight and I wanted to make sure that the check was sent on time. He was reaching out to different people for me, and I was getting highly upset that I couldn't get in touch with Mrs. Rivera. After I left a voicemail and emailed Mrs. Rivera several times that is when she responded an (HOUR LATER). Marcus said that (Dawn) wanted me to call her and when she called me my line was busy from calling Mrs. Rivera. When I got on the phone with Dawn I explained to her my situation and instead of her apologizing for the situation at hand. She immediately said I DID NOT qualify for membership and she couldn't verify my cousin who is a member. She immediately said that I was harassing the live chat agents, and my loan officer so this entire situation was a red flag for her. I told her Mrs. Rivera never asked me for my cousins information and I don't know who they called to even verify me. I explained to her that I was trying to make sure my check was mailed out and the ups tracking number show that the shipping label was just created at 3:02pm today. Which mean if ups already picked up the packages earlier today my check wouldn't be mailed out. Instead of Dawn trying to resolve the matter she made it worse trying to make it seem like I'm a villain trying to get an update on my loan. She kept trying to tell me how I did this and that wrong pertaining to the employees at this credit union. Her main concern was all of a sudden trying to see if this loan was (LEGIT AND CALLING MY COUSIN). A $10,000 loan have been opened in my name under my social security number that I was approved for! It was your employee job to do her due diligence to verify my membership with my cousin BEFORE the membership was opened. This credit union can't approve me for a loan, finalize the loan, and then all of a sudden tell me I'm not (eligible for membership). Due to the fact (DAWN) said there are red flags and was literally trying to find a way to make this an issue due to what transpired today. This credit Union is unethical and deceptive due to the fact a personal loan was finalized, opened in my name, and the check was NEVER MAILED OUT TODAY. The employee Dawn in digital operations discriminated against me in the worse way and became very volatile towards me. She was accusing me of harassment to create a issue with me being sent the loan, was combative, rude, and unprofessional during the entire call regarding the matter at hand! During the entire conversation Dawn was speaking to me in a very condensing tone, and coming up with everything she could think of to make it an issue with disbursing me my loan. The issue wasn't about her verifying that my cousin is a member, because she stated verbatim that " they usually don't call and verify memberships". So she all of a sudden made it a issue with saying "I AM NOT ELIGIBLE SINCE THEY CALLED THE WRONG PERSON" to verify me when she stated they DO NOT EVEN VERIFY MEMBERS? It is self evident she is not only a bad fit for harborstone credit union by how she conducts herself with customers, but she literally tried to ANTAGONIZE me which is obscured. This credit union CAN NOT have a loan that is opened in my name, and the NOT disburse the funds to me then think I'm supposed to make payments for a loan that (I NEVER RECEIVED).

Then, you left a voicemail and emailed again because you expected a reply within minutes. Yes, that's harassment, dear. You are not the only customer of the financial institution, and the employees are busy working. Getting a call back or reply after an hour is actually pretty good for anyone working in the customer service industry.

By far the worse bank. They were great in the beginning, but long story short. I cancelled a monthly external transfer that is usually done on the 1st of every month last month along with filling out the proper paperwork authorizing to cancel such transfer. I even went as far as transfer the money into my savings account so that the transfer would fail deeming, I do not have overdraft protection on my accounts. So, over the weekend I transferred the funds back into my checking account and on Feb 6th, 2023, five days after the 1st, what do they do? They did the transfer without my authorization only to offer no explanation implying that they intentionally screwed me over. Offering no explanation is unacceptable and unprofessional on their part. Then, I only knew that something shady was going on with these folks!! I don't recommend this bank, unless you want to assume the risk of losing your funds without recourse.

Everyone needs to know out there that harborstone is a ripoff they will take your money and keep it they will tell you that you are apparently a victim of scammer he put a check in your account that's not even your name we cashed it and now we're going to bill you for it and keep your monthly money I have no money to live on I had to borrow to pay rent I have no food for groceries or gas they kept my widow's benefit of a whole $858 a month and social security of a whole $5 a month yes I'm one of the poor people of Washington state I'm one of them that needs help very badly but the state doesn't care and neither does the bank social security tells me they don't have the check the bank never mailed it back harborstone tells me oh we don't have it we mailed it back one of the entities is lying I have contacted the governor's office I have contacted the attorney general's office no help none in this God forsaken I won't say it state I just know I feel sorry for anybody that's banking with harborstone now. This is One bank that's keeping your money and lining their pockets like the government lines their pockets with your money and you'll never see it again and they're going to bill you and tell you that you owe them almost $1,500 and you have a month to pay it in well you know what I told them that if I didn't think I'd give him pleasure I would tell them to kiss me where the sun don't shine but I refuse to give pleasure to people who steal plus they'll close your account on you so you don't even get your savings which they kept and they don't even get any of the sell money which I had there so they kept all of my money a good thousand dollars of it and they have not returned one red cent do not bank here you will be sorry

I can't even express the magnitude of incompetence at this institution. They "accidentally" deposited someone else's paycheck into my account, they realized the mistake and withdrew it a couple days later but then they CANCELLED the withdrawal and placed $10,000 holds on all three of my accounts instead. My accounts were 'frozen' to any type of withdrawal or use, but of course they allowed deposits. They left me with no access to my automatically deposited earnings. I emailed them and called them. After having called several times with no success (20+ minutes of being on hold each time) I was finally able to reach someone. They put me on hold again and then transferred me to a voicemail! I even tried emailing them. Their response back to me was to tell me I should call them. Being a single mother with cancer I was left with no way to pay for my expenses. This has been going on since August 20th (today is September 17th!). They have even charged me a total so far of $128 for putting my accounts on hold. You can't make this stuff up. This is a business who has NO business being a financial institution. Legal action is the next step. The ONLY reason they got one star from me is due to not being able to select ZERO stars.

this is the worse bank credit union I've ever dealt with and I'm 74. I can't get thru to them. They don't answer the phone and when they do, they don't know how to help. I got so frustrated. Don't go here, save yourself and pick a different credit union. You'll be glad you did.
