Wellcare has terrible customer service. I have spent hours on the phone, and rarely are my needs met. They also have an extraordinary number of reps who are not proficient in the English language. I am very tired of wasting my time on the phone with them. It is exhausting trying to understand their representatives.

I was tricked and they said they offered more or better than my old company. I haven’t had any luck with WellCare and advise ANYONE who is looking for part B or D to go elsewhere. 🙏 PLEASE STAY AWAY FOR WELLCARE…. This is the most legendary legal Scam if I Ever seen one. They said You can use the allowance card for bills. You can’t. They said You could buy Your meds or even food. A LIE!!!! Then the kicker is You have to get a doctor to send a paper in for extra help to buy meds and food on the allowance card…. A LIE LIE!!!!! I Wish the government would shut this down.

With few exceptions, this is the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Wellcare by HealthNet denied a dental claim and mishandled the appeal. A 20+ year-old cap sheared off and Wellcare denied coverage because there was "no decay" under the cap. The dentist confirmed decay, and I also appealed based on the age of the cap (average lifespan 5-15 years according to .edu dental websites, which I included in my appeal). I paid the dentist in full and sought reimbursement. I got the runaround on the address to send the appeal/grievance to. Whenever I called about the appeal, agents told me to send it to MO, then to CA, and when I said I'd done that, they told me to send it to yet a third address -- OR Wellcare by Trillium (a different company). One agent stayed on the phone with me for 90 minutes (with multiple 5+ minute holds) while we got bounced among agents, again directing me to resend paperwork to MO and CA offices. At least two agents filed grievances on my behalf. I spent 15-20 hours on the phone with this claim over the course of 5 months. Now I'm told the appeal went through, but I think they are sending the money to the dentist after I've told them multiple times, in writing and on the phone, that I have paid the bill in full and am seeking reimbursement. The left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing.
As with another reviewer's experience, I also had problems accessing an agent when I called. I was assigned two member IDs -- one on the laminated card and the other in my online account. They said, "Don't worry, you can use either." However, when I input one ID, the "bot" would correctly repeat my member ID back to me and tell me there was no member by that ID. So, I would input the other ID -- same response. Then I'd be asked to do this again.
With $0 premiums and a $120/quarter OTC card, my husband and I saved close to $1,000 by going with Wellcare this year but the frustration was not worth it. We are not renewing with them for 2026.

Your overall healthcare is designed for you to make money. The people who answer your phones are difficult to understand. I also shouldn't be forced to go to the dentist you choose. Additionally, you take too long to pay bills that should have been paid as soon as they are received. Do not sign up with this company. You will be very sorry.

A consumer's nightmare... Listed drugs will not be covered by this company, particularly specialty drugs. That pharmacy is just as bad as Well Care. Constant calls and every time you either cannot understand what they are saying, or the story changes daily. Stay away from these people.

They send me all these letters in the mail stating I can earn a gift card after my annual physical visit, although I do that anyway. But as soon as I call to claim the reward, they state I'm not in the program. So why do they keep sending me these promises? I just don't get it.

Same old story... The only way to get anything done with this company is to file complaints about the ridiculous way customer service treats your concerns. And yet, this company refuses to change the way they do things. Why does the government not step in and help the consumer? How many complaints does it take? It shouldn't be allowed to do business.

The worst customer service. No one speaks English; they promise to help you and not transfer you, but their word means nothing. Thelma, Maria, Oshella—they all get paid to put people on hold.

This company is inexpensive, but as the saying goes, "You get what you pay for." The customer service is the worst! Every time your prescription is changed or transferred, it's not approved, and you have to struggle with their outsourced "customer service" to get it cleared up. That involves long times on hold, constantly having to repeat answers because they don't understand, going over general information repeatedly, being transferred to different departments several times, and holding even more because they do not know what they are doing.
They also call and/or send mail daily trying to interfere with your health care. Their website is inadequate. You can't accomplish anything on it. They're inexpensive or free because nobody would pay for this inferior service!

What kind of a health insurance company doesn't cover insulin? I will tell you, Wellcare should be known as Doesn't Care. What a sad excuse for a Medicare Part A company. As worthless as this company is, you may as well not have a Part A plan at all.

Seems like I am having to pay for more things than with my last insurance, which was included! Oh, why did I change? It could have been because of the fast-talking WellCare salespeople. Not a happy customer!

United Healthcare is much better than this plan. I've been doing this for 15 years. The absolute only plus with WellCare is that you can buy gas for your vehicle. WellCare agents misinformed me several times about items like hygiene products, housewares, protein powder, and spoons. The only thing it covered was spoons, and then they asked me for $100 I don't have. And it's taking $175 out of my paycheck. So we're done now. Thanks and good luck.
