I have always found lines of credit a better way to access needed cash in contrast to other sorts of loans. You get more flexibility, usually lower interest, and no penalty for early payoff--and I always pay off early.

Used to love Inspirus, but since they merged with Gesa credit union their service has been a literal nightmare. Sent me a card that didn't work, then took weeks to fix it, and flagged my transactions for fraud for no reason. Get ready to sit on hold with customer service for hour after hour only to be given no real solutions. I'm going to switch as soon as possible.

I have been very happy with School Employees Credit Union. After being with big banks and only having them as experience this is a welcomed fresh air. No crazy monthly maintenance fees or hidden costs. They treat you so much better here, ATM machines are all over the place. I think once people who have used big banks for most of their lives give credit unions a try, they won't ever look back. I know I won't.

I've been a member for fourteen years now, through living in 4 different states and two countries. These guys are the best--great rates, low fees, the best international transaction and ATM fees I have ever found, and superb customer service when I've had my card stolen, etc. I've never had to worry that they wouldn't completely protect me even when I had a service complaint in France or needed to get a new card ASAP in Illinois. PLUS they actually pay decent interest rates and have reasonable credit card charges. I would absolutely recommend them--in fact, I already have recommended them to most of my family.

I have been with secu for over a year now, and for the most part am really pleased with them. They are right on account security and are fairly easy to contact. I have had problems with applications not being processed quickly, and my account is not allowed to make deposits at ATM's. Other than that, they are located very far from my house so convenience is not great. But I would recommend them to others as I have a unique situation.

School Employees Credit Union of Washington is a fantastic institution. Previously I had been with Washington Mutual which during the financial collapse of 2008 had all its’ branches become Chase Bank. I was then charged fees and constantly asked to pay money for things that I had not had to under Washington Mutual. I switched to School Employees Credit Union of Washington soon thereafter. Not only have they helped me set up my new accounts, but their online banking is superb, their notification options are prompt and able to be sent to phones, and they even have great personal customer service. I have not felt limited as a customer there. Their dividends are also pretty decent on the checking accounts.

We signed up for this credit union after being continuously hit with fees and extra charges at a more traditional bank. Sometimes we could not figure out why we were being charged overdraft fees when the account clearly had money in it. Anyway, since switching to School Employees Credit Union of Washington, we haven't had a single fee or extra charge. If an overdraft happens, they will happily (and without charge) transfer some money from the joint savings account to cover the charge. What a brilliant concept! Treat your customers with respect and stop trying to gouge them at every turn and you will build a great amount of loyalty. The credit union is also part of the NCUA, so we can use almost any other credit union's ATM machine with no fees. I would recommend this credit union with no hesitations as it's been a joy ever since we joined, as opposed to the constant struggle we had with our previous bank.
