I am looking for a high yield CD with a reputable online bank. I saw that Kansas State Bank has the best rates for a 1 year CD. I then looked up and read their reviews. The most recent ones had lots of 1 star ( or if they could
less than 1 star) reviews with many, many negative comments. I tried calling the bank this morning to get some clarification on some items. After calling 4 times with the phone ringing and ringing, somebody answered and said I would have to wait 30 minutes. I said I would. After 44 minutes a person dealing with CD's picked up and talked with me. I asked her about the reports that they do a " hard credit check" on you before you deposit your money
( remember; not a loan but CD) into their bank so they can invest it and make money off it. That affects your credit score. The minute I asked that, the phone went mysteriously dead and the call was " lost."
Called back in the afternoon to follow up and after 3 times somebody answered. She said I would have to wait at least 30 minutes. I told her about the " dropped call" this morning and she said, " Oh that. We had a power interruption in Kansas." No apologies, nothing!. I then told her I would wait again and how important good customer service was to me..
She hung up on me!!!

So..... believe those one star reviews and the negative comments. Stay away from this bank !!!!!!. Good customer service, honesty, reliability, friendliness and efficiency are all important attributes when dealing with a bank.
Like they say, " If I could give less than a 1 star review I would! And you can " take that to the bank!"
