Terrible. I have an autoimmune disease and every time my case is up for review I end up going into a flare from all the stress they inflict. My doctors have faxed the paperwork over several times each and Prudential says they've never received it. They accepted a physician statement from some psychiatric provider in another state that I've never even seen nor heard of and used that statement as a reason to deny and cancel my claim for a physical disability that has nothing to do with my mental health.
I finally got approved for social security disability, and Prudential decided that I can go back to work full time now despite the social security judge finding that there isn't a single job that I can do. They say in the denial letter that I can do a desk job, even though every single physician statement my doctor has sent them says that I can only sit for 1-33% of the time. I wish my old employer had chosen a different company to contract LTD benefits through. I hate Prudential.
Do not purchase Prudential Disability Insurance. They received their requested documentation 30 days ago. They confirmed on recorded calls my approval and the imminent direct deposit. Today, they decided to decline it due to insufficient documentation that was never requested. Oh, I can appeal, but that takes 45-90 days. The entire application process is a bait-and-switch without updates. They deserve 0 stars.
Do not do business with this company. I have been trying to close out a life insurance policy for over three months! The account has been processed four times and expedited three times with five supervisors saying, "The check is in the mail." They have lied and delayed closing this account for three months, and I must now seek legal assistance to close it, and it's only $5,000. Poor to no customer service!

My fiancee was an employee of Prudential and had to stop working when she was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. Recently, when she had a major relapse and was battling depression, Prudential cut off her support when she was at her lowest and physically unable to care for herself. They did not reach out to her emergency contacts and cancelled her disability payments, money that she deserves and needs to survive. Prudential's actions are despicable due to the falsehoods they spread. I strongly advise against doing any business with this company.
Sending them important documents on behalf of my mom (PArkinsons, and dementia etc) has been a nightmare. My POA is floating in their cyberspace has they ask me to upload it many times. WOrst company I have ever dealt with.

I have been trying to work with this company for a number of months. I have filed a claim and an appeal. They say I am entitled to receive information they used to make their decision, but when I requested the information I get no response. Have tried to reach them by phone, mail and their member portal. They say I have the right to file a law suit under ERISA, but I don’t think I should have to go to that extreme to obtain the information I am requesting. Poor, poor customer service!

I am presently trying to take care of my mom with Alzheimer's and my father just passed away. Unfortunately he had a life insurance policy from Prudential. The website wasn't working well and I couldn't submit the life insurance claim online and so I called three times to take care of it by phone. All three times they just said to go onto the website. So I called the customer service line and asked if sending people to the website was all they do and was told by a nice genteman that it was not how it was supposed to happen. So he transferred to another person who again said to go to the website to file the claim and I tried again and the website again didn't allow me to submit. The bottom line is that if you are going to buy insurance you can quickly get someone to your door but making a claim, you will not get appropriate assistance. Every time I got hung up on. Once, when I said there is a problem with the website, the Prudential employee just laughed at me. The shame of it is what happens to all the elderly clients that are not computer savvy? There are a lot of life insurance options.. I suggest that whatever you choose to do ask the agent to do the claim paperwork for you before you pass so that your beneficiaries have it easier. Also, just don't go to Prudential. No one who is mourning their loved one should be laughed at. Obviously poor training of employees and lack of passion by the leadership.

same type of problem here. Worst company I have ever had to deal with. They have gotten worse. My dad worked for them for 20 years and his level of service far exceeded what they provide now. They just take your money and don't provide a service.

Barefaced crooks, if you call the customer service number you get a call center in India, zero customer service. I bought a small life insurance policy as a young single woman, intended only to pay my funeral expenses so no family member had to come up money. I asked my family to give me the cheapest cremation possible. My father was the original beneficiary. Then I got married and changed the beneficiary to my husband. Thirteen years later he wanted a divorce and I have not seen him since and have no idea if he's even still alive. I told Prudential I wanted to change the beneficiary to my brother. Prudential said I had to have written permission from my ex husband to take him off the policy that I bought and paid for myself before I married him. It took SEVENTEEN YEARS to get Prudential to take my ex husband off as beneficiary and put my brother on. If I had died in the meantime, Prudential would have just said they couldn't locate the beneficiary and they would have kept the money. Now, more than 20 years later, they still take all my dividends and give them to themselves to buy me more "paid up insurance" that I don't need, and have told them I don't want, and have asked that they send me a check. Two years ago I spoke to one of their representatives who said she would stop this and there was no reason they couldn't stop this, and here I am with another notice for how much additional paid up insurance they have added to my policy. When I call the number on my policy I get some guy in India whose so-called English is incomprehensible. Prudential Insurance are thieves and con men, and if you check now you will find their customer ratings are "well below normal for the insurance industry". By the way, I used to drive past a burned out hulk of a house every day on my way to work. After a year, the owner spray painted across the front "I own a piece of the rock". This all should tell you everything you need to know about Prudential.

Nothing good to say about prudential. The people who work there are disgusting human beings, in my opinion. ..........................................
Terrible company and horrible customer service!! Don’t get life insurance here, don’t put your family members through the horrible experience they will have to deal with! All this company wants to do is hold your money as long as possible with stalls, unrealistic requests, and confrontational customer service! You will hear different information every time you call, nobody knows what is going on! Buyer Beware!! I would give minus 5 stars if I could!

What a nightmare to work with this company on a claim. This insurance is a benefit from my company. It literally takes me calling my corporate office to have them call and make Prudential do anything! They drag their feet on claims. They have a txt messaging service for paperwork. But they must not read it. They call you weeks to a month later after you sent it asking for the same information. Saying they havent received it. You go through your txt and tell them the date you sent it then they all of a sudden see it. All this prolongs your payments. I am yet again over a month without payment and I have yet again had to get my corporate office involved! They will not answer the phones when you call. They sit you on hold for an hour until you hive up and hang up! HORRIBLE customer service when you cannot even understand them when and if you do get ahold of them!
Prudential offers horrible customer service and excels in their efforts to keep your funds even when you have fulfilled every new requirement they MAKE UP for you to satisfy. My experience is with a life insurance policy that had a cash surrender value which I decided to invoke--the policy had been paid in full and on time for over 40 years. Prudential worked to make the process as difficult as possible--not providing the required forms, you can only get these "forms" by calling and sitting on hold, even then--Prudential makes you call several times before even sending them. Ok--so, you have submitted the forms as required, now Prudential makes up new requirements, which they WILL NOT voluntarily tell you. You must call and demand clarification. Okay--so you submitted the new required info--beware, Prudential now just starts over and pretends they never received anything from you or it was incomplete. So, you call and wait again, then they finally admit that they had all they needed with the original form. The "case manager" stated Prudential's policy is "NOT to communicate with customers!!" That sums it up & is the only true thing any of the call center employees said in all of my nine (9!!) interactions. Prudential still is trying to get away with not paying and violating the contract. Buyer beware--Prudential has NO INTENTION of honoring their side of a contract.

My Dad is 93 years old and has been a long time customer of Prudential. I am his Power of Attorney (POA) and previously had on-line access to his account, which was recently removed by the company. I need this access, especially during these Covid times, to get tax forms for dividends he receives as he is in an assisted living community where I cannot visit him. I just got off my 2nd call with this company this week. This one lasted 93 minutes due to long wait times and the need to speak with three different people. Two days ago, it was 30 minutes with two other people. After the first call I was asked to fax them a copy of the POA document and was told that the issue would be resolved "within a matter of hours" after they received it. It was not, hence today's call. The last person I spoke with told me that they normally do not grant on-line access to POAs, which completely contradicts what I was told a few days ago. I was then told that I would need to call back next week to see if this situation would change following a review of the POA document by their legal department. I decided instead to ask about the steps needed to cancel the contracts that my Dad has with them. I then called my Dad to explain the situation to him and he agreed that he no longer wants to do business with this company.

The most unethical corporation. I have been permanently disabled over 10years. I had a waiver of premium for 8 years but last March Prudenial wanted to review my disability. I also was in a car accident in June 2017 which now had made both knees disabled I am also near the age 65 where Prudential wants to remove you from the waiver {after 65 you cannot apply for the waiver, A CSR in September told me my waiver was approved and I would receive verification was in the mail. The letter never came and then in December I was told they were still reveiwing the waiver! Just last week I received the denial in the mail. A Prudential rep called 5days ago when Ii was in the hospital for a possible blood clot in my leg. As usual she never called back Lisa was her name and she said she would call Monday-the call never came I also was told Lauren B the claims examiner would call before in December and she never called! Other proposed calls never came either. They are covering up my the fact that I was told the waiver was okd Social Security approved my Disablity quickly and there in no improvement foreseen. Actually I am 10 years older and my condition has deteriorated greatly My Wife is now retiring 5 years early to take care of me , I am in tremendous pain even though I take painkillers and just living has become a struggle Prudential is the worst and just think they made 8 BILLION DOLLARS in 2017 and even more last year. I guess they need the $ 480 in premium payment per year more than I do . With my wife not working we now have more expense now with the $ 480 premiums . I believe Prudential wants to ruin the lives of the disabled. The life insurance policy has 51 years of premiums- that almost twice as long as a 30 year mortgage on a home, I even wrote a letter to John Strangefeld the CEO . Charles Lowery is the new CEO just announced . Bring your challenges is their advertising slogan -just do not bring them if you are disabled or become disabled!!

My working relationship with Prudential Insurance has always been pleasant. While their web based information is clear, well-organized, and user friendly, where they excel is in their customer service. When the website falls short and I have to call Prudential for any reason, the wait times are short, and the phone staff is friendly and courteous. My questions have always been answered and explained to me clearly and concisely, and I have found that I spend much more time talking to someone empowered to help me rather than being transferred endlessly from department to department. When speaking about a claim, I was walked through the multiple options available to me and assisted in selecting the right one. Efforts were made to ensure accuracy, and I felt listened to by the Prudential employee. It would serve other companies well to structure their customer service like this.
