This bank not only charges you interest on your loans, but then adds a $4 fee for any on line transaction calling it a convenience fee. They want you to obtain a checking acco7nt, which they will charge you $4 each time you want to make a deposit as well. If you are like me, the nearest branch is about 150 miles away, do its not convenient for me to pay in person. Can I charge this credit union a fee for gas to drive into a branch? No! Their on line site is a pain to navigate and you really have to search to find where you make your payments. Do yourself a favor, pass on this credit union. This is my first and only loan from this credit union. I will trade or refinance out of this auto l9an ASAP!

I personally had one of the worst experiences I’ve ever dealt with involving AutoPay Direct and the warranty companies tied to my vehicle loan.
Secretly, $4,000 in warranties and add-ons were rolled into my financing, and when I later tried to cancel them, I was constantly stalled, transferred around, or told conflicting information depending on who answered the phone. No one knew what was going on, and it was almost always the same rude people answering the lines.
The warranty was practically unusable. Trying to file claims or even get straightforward answers was exhausting. Then when I requested paperwork, I was sent unsigned documents that I had no knowledge of and was never properly walked through at the time of purchase.
The most frustrating part is they’re likely intentionally dragging things out until cancellation or refunds become harder. Consumers should not have to fight this hard just to get transparency about what they are paying for. This is predatory. They promise a refund of 2500 in refi but you don’t get it. Then the loan officer disappears. A loan worth more than the car was at purchase years prior. The 2500 refund didn’t come, but they added 2500 plus 2000 to the refinance. This was all hidden by the way. You’ll be upside down for sure they make certain of it.

Only because I had to give a star. But 0/5 do not do it!! BEWARE! The reviews are true. I’m based in Texas and had no idea who had took over my refinance.. it was third party, middle man mess. These people are clueless and rude. They give no real explanations and obviously have no training. No knowledge themselves. Always “let me see what my coworker says, let me check with my manager” on BASIC information. Loan information. They don’t know correct point of contact.. what language means. They don’t care what they tell you. Money hungry though. You’ll regret it. I don’t have an actual bank account, just auto loan and it’s about 5-6 different ppl with their hands in my loan altogether. You go to cancel something and they all point fingers at each other and then you can’t cancel. Don’t do it.

all they tried to do is get you over under on your car loan. I have a Chrysler 200 S 2016 I got a car loan from them. They were able to get me down to 13% but they added extended warranty and extended gap program that made my car loan worth more than what my car is worth. I didn't catch it the first time I got another loan in April 29 of 2026. it was 8.4% This time My loan was 14,000. They did the same thing and I caught it this time. They tried to get me with an extended warranty The most expensive gap they had took my loan from 14,000 To 18,500 this car is only worth from 6000 to $9000. This is what they do. I'm disabled on a fixed income. The guy name was George and his supervisor was Ashley. They think it's all right to treat their customers like This , I try to get someone at the bank that was in a position higher than Ashley. She's one of the loan management but they tell me she is at the top and I don't believe that I learned my lesson you can't trust nobody today all about greed the guy who did my application with me named George he would have not done nobody in his family like that but he thought that was all right to treat me like that take my loan from 14,000 to 18,500 and the car is not worth 6000 to 9000 I was a good loyal customer never missed the payment not one time I am a Christian and God fights my battle they think it's all right to have you upside down in your car loan. That means that your car loan is worth more than what your car is worth. They did it to me in 2025. I didn't catch that one, but I caught what they was doing in 2026 when I asked for a refinance they took advantage of a senior, there are honest companies who don't try to trick a senior just because they get a kickback when they sell the most expensive package to you T. These are the most incompetent people I’ve ever ran into. I need 50% of you to move onto another loan website because these guys are so stupid that it cost me another $102 to pay off a loan that I paid off over 20 days ago. I paid off a $15,000 loan and apparently because I missed a phone call that they kept running the interest on my loan. They told me it was put into a savings account. I didn’t ask for a savings account. I asked to pay off my loan. The incompetence is insane. Don’t trust these people with your money.

This is a terrible credit union. I regretted the switch immediately. The customer service, if you can contact one, is abysmal. I don't think they are a bank anymore, but instead an inept call center with an AI help desk. You are better off leaving them a message at 9 AM and waiting for the 4:55 PM callback, but make sure to pick up on the first ring, or you have to wait another 24 hours to do it all again.

I am trying to obtain a commercial loan. They approved me but requested additional paperwork. I uploaded the paperwork and checked to see if they needed anything else because I need to leave the office. It has been 2.5 hours since I contacted them, and there has been no response. I just found out that the person handling my loan is at a doctor's appointment. This should have been passed on to someone else. It is an awful way to conduct business. People deserve respect.

STAY AWAY. Meritrust secretly switched my free checking account to a $7/month paid account without my knowledge or consent and refused to refund me when I finally noticed. They claimed they had mailed a letter, which I never received. No email, no notification in the web interface, nothing. They also apparently sold my email address for third-party marketing services. Ten years ago, they were great, but now they are sadly worse than the for-profit banks I switched from.

Took $200 out of my account to pay the loan because I "broke an agreement," which I don't have, even though I have a good reason. I couldn't pay it back because I earn less than $500 a week from my job, as I have two biased managers, and they refuse to refund my money.

Do not get a car loan with this company. They added insurance to my vehicle even though it was already fully insured. I spent two days getting it removed. They are the biggest scammers!

Today I paid off my car loan with Premier Members Credit Union. This is not my primary credit union. CU of Denver transferred the money to Premier to pay off my loan. On my balance receipt from Premier, the balance was confusing. I went into the Arvada branch off Ward Road. I spoke with Catherine the teller, who was really kind. I asked to speak with the manager; her name is Lisa. She was a real snob. She was sarcastic and didn't want to help me. Her answers were short with no explanation; she was really rude. Maybe even prejudice, because she looked at me as if I were a nobody, how dare I ask to speak with her. These are the dirty looks and the vague answers I was getting. For being a manager, she had no answers, or anyway, any she wanted to share with me. Anyway, I closed my account at Premier, and it was only a loan I had with them. My other two credit unions appreciate me as a member and they treat me with courtesy.

Worst company ever! I've had a car loan with this company for a while. In September I missed a payment. I wasn't aware that I had missed that payment. Now it's December, literally a week before Christmas, and I'm a few days late on the December payment. Because of the missed payment in September, they view the late payment in December as my account being 60 days behind. Because of this, they sent out a text and email threatening repossession.
I decided to call them and discuss this. I explained my situation and the representative said, "can't you get a second job through the holidays to get caught up?" This is what they call working with the account holder. They tell you to get a second job! Did they offer to reset the loan, to cut the interest and lower the payments, to waive late fees? No! They insist that the account holder figure it out.
When she said I should get a second job, I lost it and got angry. I said they should go ahead and repossess the car and save me the money. She replied, "well you'll still owe the money." Which I said, "Not if I file bankruptcy." The moment I said that she got very combative and angry. Almost as if I would be taking money out of her personal pocket. She said, "If you're going to act like that, I'm going to end the call." She hung up.
I've realized that Meritrust is a predatory lender, disguising themselves as a credit union.

This place is the worst I've ever dealt with. I initially financed my car with them, and they ended up financing my ex's car as well. My payments are deducted every month at the same time, and when she fell behind on her payments, they started withdrawing from my savings account. I moved all my money to another bank, and when she fell behind again, they began deducting from my payments to cover her car. I will never deal with this institution again. I paid off my ex's car, and now I'm locked out of the app. Although they are still taking my payments from my account, since I'm locked out of the app, my payments are going to savings and not towards my car payment. Yet, when her car was behind, they had no issue taking from my account. It has been an extremely frustrating ordeal, and I'll feel much better when it's over. I will never have any dealings with Meritrust again. My ex has never had an account with them and I was not on her car loan until she started financing with them.
