This is the worst bank..you could ever hope to have. If your family member passes away, the bank will fight you and create obstacles. Not helpful at all. It is a terrible bank and I would not recommend using this banking facility. They are very unscrupulous!

I have many accounts and one credit card through them. I have great credit and haven't missed a payment in almost a decade on anything. I noticed something peculiar with my credit card: I would make payments, but the balance did not drop since November. It would indicate that the payment is paid or scheduled and there is money in the accounts. However, I was just notified on the 3rd that it now affected my credit. I requested a full audit, and they acknowledged that they can see my frequent logins. No payment was declined, but none were attempted either. I informed the representative that I am not logging in without reason; the issue is on their end. They're apparently having problems with the app for your phone or issues with their system because I make my payments exactly on time. My credit score dropped 120 points in a single day, and I'm about to get a mortgage, so I am extremely angry. Until they are willing to investigate further or rectify the issue, I will just pay off any balance I owe them in full. I'm going to leave a negative review everywhere I possibly can. Nothing less will suffice until they perform their responsibilities properly. If this isn't resolved, I will be taking my business to South State or elsewhere very soon.

I have been dealing with MidFlorida Credit Union for a year and 9 months now, and when I opened my account, a friend of mine referred me, so they received $100 and I received $200. Then my parents decided to open an account, so I referred them. At this point, it is $400, $200 for each of us. Well, at the end of the 60 days, they received their $400 but I did not receive my $200 because they say there's a clause about living in the same house or having the same address. However, I rent an apartment on their property. I do not share the same house with them and I'm still not allowed to get this. That seems unfair to me. This suggests that if you live in an apartment complex and have the same building number, you can't get the bonus. It seems like MidFlorida is willing to deny you the money by any means they can. If I could give them a zero-star rating on this, I would. I and my family will be closing our accounts at MidFlorida, and I will inform every acquaintance of mine who has a MidFlorida account about this situation, including all the business owners I know who also have accounts with MidFlorida. They will find that foregoing the $200 is going to cost them much more than they could have ever imagined.

I've been dealing with Mid Florida for about seven months now, and I keep going into the negative in my account. Although there was money in my account earlier in the day, later at night, I somehow become negative due to all kinds of charges that were made while there was cash in my account. This is ridiculous. I would not recommend Mid Florida to anyone with a clear conscience.

I joined for the $200 bonus. I like that they have early pay on Wednesday, but I set up an ACH and they withdrew it and then settled it all on Wednesday. Of course, my deposit was posted in the afternoon, and they charged an NSF fee. I think that is a bit sneaky since it was all on the same day. I guess they have no grace period, which other banks have, so most likely I will be closing this account soon.

I'm here now at the MidFlorida Bank located in Temple Terrace and I must say these people that work here do NOT seem to want to do their job! I pulled up to the drive-thru and no one came, so I backed up some and drove back through. Still, no one came. I then pushed the button for service and still... No one came to the window. I pushed the button a second time and still no one. I then looked at my phone to see the date and time, although I see people inside and only a couple of people, mind you. It's not that busy, so where are the employees and why do they not want to do their job? Then finally, a woman came to the window to assist me. This bank has really gone downhill. It's not a bank I honestly want to continue doing business with! Get it together, MidFlorida! As I was driving off I noticed that the woman are just standing around talking...SMH!

This review isn't about the credit union's model, but about customer service from management and being better.
I went in to do a deposit and transfer using the shared branching function. I've done it here before using my account number. This time, I was asked for my member number, which I was unable to locate on my app. No worries, use my account number like before, right? Before we could even get that far, the manager Ruth had a look of irritation on her face. She was assisting Manuel, who was unable to do a few things and asked for her assistance. Her attitude toward him was flippant, and her demeanor afterward was rude, unwelcoming, and her facial expressions spoke volumes. Regardless of any business-related transaction that went on today, Ruth was the worst part of my experience, all from across the room.

Communication is lacking. Mid FL stopped processing payments at the beginning of the new year because of how the auto-pay is set up. My issue is that I had to find out by receiving a notification about my credit and realizing it took a big hit. I received no email or phone call about the past due amount, only a message on online banking, without even an email letting me know there was a message. They said it's because I chose electronic communication, and the amount was too small for them to bother calling me. I'm very surprised a company wouldn't call to say your auto-pay expired, and you might want to renew it. Instead, they would rather it go to collections and let someone's credit be damaged. It shows they care nothing about their customers.

Damien helped me with my auto pay for my car loan payment. He was super courteous and caring. He called me back when he said he would with the information I needed. Very efficient and superb service.
I've been with MidFlorida for 20+ years and their customer service is outstanding. Whenever I have a question or concern, it is addressed immediately. I even requested a new branch in central Largo, and it was done!
Thank you, MidFlorida; you're the best in my opinion!

Their "overdraft protection" is awful, especially if you're already broke. They once charged me over $100 in overdraft fees. It was $30 for the initial overdraft and then $20 for every subsequent overdraft transaction after that, no matter how small. It's like giving away money for being broke.

They used to be great a decade ago. Now, if you have any issue, don't waste your time trying to call anyone; you'll have to waste your time driving there. Any customer service over the phone is awful. You wait on hold forever, and then when you talk to someone, they put you on hold, and you usually get disconnected, and then you just start the loop all over again. I've been a customer for over 20 years and it used to be easy to talk to somebody on the phone. Those days are long gone!

I have been with MidFlorida for 15 years. In that time, I have had several car loans, a line of credit, a mortgage, a credit card, and recently a CD. I've not been super happy with how they have operated but when my CD term ended, they automatically renewed it. Instead of the almost 5% yield I was getting, they put it at 1.2%, which is absolutely ridiculous. It's my fault that I did not take note of the renewal date, but to drop it that low is unfair.
When I called them to inquire, I was spoken to in a condescending manner. It's a quarter of a million dollars; 1.2% does not even keep up with inflation. They wanted a $2,500 penalty to cancel it and would not budge, so I paid it. Then, I transferred the money to another bank making 3.7% in a savings account, and I'm in the middle of closing everything down. It's very disappointing how they say they are a caring community credit union but are behaving like a large, impersonal bank. Shame on them; I'll take my money elsewhere.

I had the most frustrating experience with MIDFLORIDA Credit Union. They offered me a loan and, being cautious, I asked a lot of questions—so many questions, you wouldn't believe it. They answered every single one of them, and I was satisfied with their responses, thinking everything was clear and in line with what I expected.
However, when it came time to close the loan, after more than 30 days of back and forth, everything changed. They completely altered the terms and conditions that were previously agreed upon, and suddenly, the answers they had given me were all reversed. Everything that was a "yes" before turned into a "no." It was incredibly unprofessional and misleading.
Clearly, they had no idea what they were selling. It was like they were making things up as they went along, and they certainly didn't understand the product they have. This kind of service is unacceptable, especially when it involves something as important as a loan or financial product.
The level of inconsistency and poor communication throughout this process was beyond frustrating. I cannot trust a company that changes its rules on a whim and gives conflicting answers at every turn. This has been a nightmare of an experience, and I highly recommend steering clear of MIDFLORIDA Credit Union. The lack of professionalism, clarity, and customer service is astonishing.

I advised never to bank with MidFlorida. I literally have $30,000 in CDs here. Yet, when I applied for a personal loan, they denied me. How do you deny a loan to a customer who is literally allowing the bank to confidently lend out that money and generate profit through interest rates on loans, while only paying a fixed interest rate to the CD holder for the deposit?
