They say my call is very important to them, but then they say the wait is over 27 minutes. They offer to call back 'in the next few hours'. They could care less about my call. This is not a new situation. It's been going on for years.
To add insult to injury - they play the same music and inundate you with their ads - the same ads - over and over again!
Ya, they could care less about my call - or me.

Because I live in another state that has no MACU office’s I get the worst service ever. I co-signed a loan, they failed to make sure the insurance was current and the cars been wrecked! Now I am on the hook for a car I told them was going to be wrecked and ruined but they didn’t care would not help me and now I am on the hook for a wrecked car. They won’t even call me back and I have been hung up on! Worst Credit Union in the WORLD! I am closing all my accounts!
It was very easy to process to get a loan and be approved. I recommend anyone to use their service. Also having the auto payments set up is wonderful. You don't even have to be a member with them.
My brother, who suffers from mental illness, living 90% of the time in his car with his dog, had an RV loan with this credit union.
He had to do a voluntary surrender on the loan and was working with their collections department, as they released the title in error when they should not have.
My brother needed to get that release signed, notarized, and sent back to them ASAP. I made sure he wrote down both tracking numbers. He received the request and returned it the same day!!!
He went out of his way to keep them informed on changes in his life. Now they are reporting the account with all kinds of errors on his credit report, keeping him from getting an apartment.
Disgusting behavior!
These people are roaches, only thinking of themselves. DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY OF YOUR BUSINESS!
Yes, he failed on the loan. However, life happens and the least they could do is report with accurate information! The dates are not correct on the closing of the account, the amount is never correct, and payments/dates are not correct.
My brother will never get off the street so we're now looking at having him committed (he'll be safe). No self-respect for my brother now.
I will never consider a loan with this bank again. The worst customer service I have ever experienced. I am trying to set up online payments for my loan and my husband is on the loan with me. I called to see if I can get the account set up and "Erica" was so rude! I let her know what I was tying to do, and her response was "That's not possible" with no explanation. I said I was the co-signer on the loan and she said, "Exactly! You are not the primary! Have a nice day" and hung up! I want to make a payment, her behavior was absolutely uncalled for! There is no way to know where she was out of, so no way to report her directly. But if they are going to allow people like that to work there, I will never use this bank again!! EVER!!!
I love Mountain America! Not the biggest, but the people are friendly and try their best to help. Much more customer-focused than the other banks & CUs in this town!
My parents banked with Mountain America for years. Unfortunately for me they both passed away in a 3 month period. My brother and myself were on the accounts. When my mom passed we went in to let them know she passed and make the arrangements so we could run the account to make sure bills were being paid and set up online banking for one of us to monitor everything and eventually close the account. We had the power of attorney papers and trustee papers and we were both on the account. We were told that somehow I was taken off the account and just my brother was on there, which is not a big deal as long as he was on the account and we had trustee papers so no problem, so I thought. We were then told we couldn't have a log in for online banking because the primary, my mother had passed. We couldn't do anything with the account except close it, even though my brother was on the account. We asked if we could open a trust account and just move the money there. They said they couldn't do that, mainly because we were joint trustee's??? Nothing they said made sense. They blocked everything with the account except since my brother was on it, so we could close the accounts and take all the money. So their security was keeping us from doing anything with the account but we could take all the money out and close it????? What exactly are they protecting if we could take all the money out???? So instead of allowing all of her debtors to continue to be paid and making it easy on us to transfer out and get her debtors paid off we had to close everything and start all over. They are crappy for making a terrible situation for our family and made it much worse with twice as much work. There is no way I would let anyone I know use this bank because heaven forbid that something bad happens, you are screwed, or your loved ones are screwed!!! By the way we went to a bank next door and had a trust account set up in 20 minutes with a debit card, online banking and no issues. They even helped us reach out to some her debtors they knew and set up payments from this new account. The staff at the location on River Rd was amazing! Super friendly. This was all a problem with corporate. The staff was all willing to help until they got on the phone with corporate and then we were shut down with everything they were trying to do!
I am so happy to have switched to Mountain American Credit Union. They have been extremely helpful and informative about what I have to do to help with my credit. They also refinanced my car for me.
I enjoy the fact that I have a $1500 limit to start with, but I would like to increase that amount as soon as possible. Would like to get some rewards on my purchase that I make.
