North Jersey Federal Credit Union

Njfcu has thieves. I'm on a set income (ex military). So to me, Every penny has to be accounted for. Upon paying my credit card bills.
I was informed that my payments had been returned back to the bank. So I went to the office to find out why, and what happened. The young lady tells me insufficient funds. Not only that but they're billing me a fee of $35 for each so called transaction that shouldn't have happened in the first place. Mind you I have been paying the same bills EVERY MONTH. No later than the 5th of each month for over 2yrs. (I've been with this bank for almost 19yrs.) I'm showing her screenshots of my transactions, in which I keep until the following month then I delete & repeat. OK, so now as I'm trying to show her, and telling her what she's showing me on the computer is NOT correct, she's now talking over me. So I'm saying to myself now that I have to take this to the BBB. But while I was waiting to speak with her I made a transaction which left my balance say $229. So before I left her office I asked her so what is my balance to make we're on the same page. She tells me my balance is $83. So I show her my receipt that I had Just received from the teller. And she once again tells me insufficient funds. (So now I'm like to myself that I need to lawyer up ASAP!) And it charged me $35 fee. Then she put the $35. Back on my account only for it to be put on hold. So now, I can't even withdraw.
ALL IM ASKING FOR IS FOR A REFUND of MY $779. and that's not even including the 3x $35. Fee. Tell me, with darn near $2k amonth. Same bills. Oh. The credit card companies canceled my cards. So now I'm trying to play catch up. Never been late with a payment. This also tells me a lot about them. So I won't mention Any company names. Let's just say..EYES WIDE OPEN. thnks NJFCU. ALL U HAD TO DO WAS PUT MY FUNDS BACK in my account. This happened just 3months ago.

So here was my most recent experience at NJFCU. I stopped by the drive thru at the Elmwood Park branch so I could make a simple check deposit because it was raining & I had my 1 year old in the back napping. I could barely read the sign in barley large print indicating the drive thru was closed. I pressed the button to call a teller over just to ask when they would be back up & running since getting a rep on the phone is another nightmare in itself. If you want to waste your time & get aggravated definitely give them a call. Anyway, Latia I believe her name was incredibly nasty & rude by telling me she doesn’t know when the drive thru will be open because they’re short staffed & she’s the only teller. Quiet frankly, I could care less what the situation is, what matters to me is being able to get my banking business done quickly & efficiently without dealing with awful customer service. I’m a reasonable person & patient. I understand it could be incredibly difficult planning for training for a system conversion & making sure you have enough staff to serve the membership, however it all comes down to poor planning & lack of organization. I truly hope the CEO & upper management is also finding time to squeeze in customer service training because it’s desperately needed. I can’t wait to close my accounts & never have to deal with this financial institution. If I could give 0 stars I would. The customer service & everything that has to do with the “Credit Union experience” is horrendous. Since the former CEO has retired it has gone downhill in the worst possible way. STAY FAR AWAY FROM HERE.

This Bank is the worst!!!Especially the Newark Branch with the New bank Manager she rude and shes ghetto a little dirty smart mouth disrespectful ,She doesnt like to help solve issues if this bank wants to prosper they need to get rid of her!!#

Applying at North Jersey Federal Credit Union was a lot simpler than I thought it would be. The staff was very polite and helpful, which was surprising given my experience with others. I had lots of questions about their services and a possible future loan. They took their time and went through everything with me until I felt I understood it clearly. I would definitely recommend them to anyone who wants a friendly credit union.

I have a Checking and Savings account with North Jersey Federal Credit Union as of a year ago. I have to say that I am overall happy with my experience with them and do not have many complaints. The hours and location are not of the utmost convenience for ME personally but beggars cant be choosers. Its great to have an opportunity to safely put your money away while you are trying to rebuild your credit and stance with the banks and this credit union gives you the chance to do so. I have an interest bearing savings account with them and am going to be looking into getting a car loan through them and the rates seem pretty decent. Their customer service is good and they offer online banking too which is extremely helpful for a credit union to offer. Keep in mind this is only available to people who live or work in Essex and Passaic county. Overall I am pleased with my time with the NJFCU and would recommend it to anyone in the area who doesn't want to put their money into a bank but does want it somewhere secure and with options.
