Hello, in a few words, I will say this: "Keep a big distance from this bank. Customer issues are never taken seriously, and the problems are never solved. People working there are not held responsible for mistakes, consequences of which we suffer for the next seven years!!!!!!!!!!!!! So if someone is considering opening an account there, please think very carefully about it."

Debit card service is a joke with the 24/7 card center call service. I received my debit card 7 days ago while traveling in the USA. During my trip, I had cash and a credit card. When I tried to pay with my debit card, it declined sometimes for no reason. Except for a little bit of embarrassment, I paid with cash and didn't bother. But after a few days, it was so annoying. I called the bank, and they said that it was for security reasons and that they could change it. I explained I'm on a trip and I will spend money, so yes, please change it. They said they changed it and after that, it worked a couple of times and then again started declining.

The worst thing is that I had a hotel reservation, and like with a lot of hotels, you need to have a card to book. When I arrived, it was 11:30 PM, and when I tried to pay with the card, it declined, and then it declined 3 more times. I tried to call the bank, but their service hours were from 9 in the morning. The lady at the reception said I couldn't pay with cash, so I called the bank again and the automated voice call from Polish Slavic Bank sent me to their debit card service. After 15 minutes of going through various answers through the automated voice, they said it's fixed. So I tried paying, and it still declined. After calling the card service again, they said it's all they can do and suggested calling the bank from 9 AM.

Now it's 12:15 at night, I am exhausted from a full day of driving, my booking will be canceled from Booking.com, and I will have to pay a fee for that. On top of it all, I have nowhere to sleep or safely keep my car in some sketchy street, and why? Because the card didn't work.

Now I understand that there may be security reasons, but firstly, they said they fixed it a couple of days ago, and now my payments will go through. Secondly, if they have security like that, then they should be available 24 hours a day to fix that if somebody's in a situation like I was.

I wish I had read the reviews before I started banking here. Almost all 1s. This is the worst bank I have ever had to deal with in my life. They pass the buck and refuse to take responsibility for a mistake they made.

Very happy with the rate we got on the refinance for our investment property in Mundelein. I have submitted an application for a car loan online - Polish & Slavic Bank. They have called me several times, urging me to stop by and create an account with them to proceed with my application. I went to the bank in Mount Prospect to open an account. I spent some time there while they were entering my application into their system. They asked me to fill out a paper form where I had to provide my place of birth. I was very surprised when they said, unfortunately, we cannot open an account for you because your place of birth is Belarus, and this country is under sanctions. This is discrimination based on place of origin. People who are not originally from Poland should not go there; it’s a waste of time. Also, be prepared if your place of birth is not Poland and you do not speak Polish, you might be taken last in line.

Its a Visa so it's accepted anywhere. A good place to start if you are not banked or need a card.

The Polish and Slavic Federal Credit Union is one of the largest ethnic Credit Union in the United States. It became that way thanks to being responsive to its membership’s needs. Some great things about PSFCU include: a plentiful number coin-counting machines (in bank branches), a large network of Surcharge-free ATMs, and lastly a friendly and courteous staff of Tellers and Loan Officers. That is not to say that PSFCU has problems; one significant problem (for me) is that there are limited numbers of bank branches. Nonetheless, the mobile branch as well as PSFCU’s online banking option (which has significantly improved from the old platform) makes up for this deficit.

I will never go back to a big-name bank after my experiences with PSFCU! The staff is incredible and very helpful, their rates are great, and I know I can rely on them completely with my finances! If I have any problems or questions, I know someone will happily assist me, any time. I have both a savings and a checking account with PSFCU, and their online banking is easy to use. They also gave me the best rate on my mortgage, and I could not be happier. I have gone back to them for my financial needs many times, and plan on doing so in the future. I highly recommend PSFCU!

I am new to the neighborhood and was looking for a local credit union since I have grown weary of all the fees I get charged at my Big Bank. I had a friend who was a member of the Polish & Slavic Federal Credit Union and he urged me to check it out after saying great things about it. I walked to ask some questions a couple weeks ago and was really thrilled with the customer service I got. The banker informed that they had great relationships with international institutions and offer many great banking benefits such as countless services without charge, the ability to obtain credit cards and build your credit through them and also they have no minimum required balance or fees for dipping below that balance. He also discussed at length with me all the types of loans they offer to members. I ended up depositing a few hundred just to start out right then and there. I have been considering moving from a Big Bank to a local credit union and so far I’m thrilled with my decision. I have since moved nearly all of my funds over and recommended that all my friends switched over. I have not gone through their application process just yet, so I give that a 3. But everything else is spot on. It’s a great local credit union and I highly recommend.

I have been a member of PSFCU for over five years now, and have nothing but good things to say about this financial institution. First of all, every teller and personal banker is bilingual, which can be a huge plus if you need to make a wire transfer to a banking institution in Poland. The personnel will take care of any issues that their clients may face when dealing with banks across international borders. PSFCU also comes with all the typical benefits of credit unions such as no minimum account balance, a wide range of free services, low interest rates for many types of loans, and good credit card offers. Also, I was able to receive a credit for a debit card purchase that was made without my authorization when I lost my wallet. Most banks will avoid reimbursing their clients for unauthorized purchases made with a debit card, but PSFCU proved to be the exception to the rule. Highly recommended!
