I paid U-Haul directly for a claim of “damages” even though when we drove the U-Haul straight from picking it up to the office, the front light magically just started dangling and then we got hit for claims of damages when we dropped it off. Now I’m getting calls six months later after paying U-Haul already from these collectors saying that I didn’t pay it. It has to be a scam or just pure ignorance and I have receipts proving that I paid the cost of quote on quote “damages”we caused. We will definitely be using a different company for our Christmas Lights season rather than using UHaul.

Horrible company. Rented a U-Haul that had a leak and caused $300 in damage. Took photos and filed a claim. Pretty cut and dry. Just to be denied. What a joke. Why does anyone take insurance when they don't pay out? It's so disappointing. I only wish the employees who worked on my case experience karma. I will be going to small claims court. Now it's about wasting their time and money over $300.claim.

There's no point in getting insurance through U-Haul. I might as well buy a utility/car trailer so I won't have to use their services.

I rented a trailer from U-Haul and purchased the insurance because I was going to transport my toolboxes to my new job. I picked up the trailer on 8/14/25, drove almost a mile away, and the trailer detached and collided with my tailgate, bumper, and trailer hitch. I returned the damaged trailer, and they provided me with a different one. The manager filed a claim with Repwest on 8/18, and I received a call from the adjuster on the following Saturday, 8/23. She has not been keeping in touch with us about the damages, and they only approved repairs for the tailgate and bumper, but that's it. The body shop stated that the hitch needed to be replaced since it was struck by the trailer. The body shop has called numerous times but was denied payment for the hitch. I've spoken with the adjuster, and she stated the damages were cosmetic, and they're not going to replace the hitch. There were gouges taken out of the metal, which will weaken the structural integrity, and I have submitted pictures to them and to the adjuster. This company needs to restore my truck to its condition before the incident. It had never been involved in an accident, nor had any body work done until this. We have already contacted the insurance commissioner and will take legal action if necessary. Please repair my truck and restore it to its original condition, including the hitch.

So I purchased Safeload insurance for my move with UHaul, and unfortunately, this company is the carrier. A lot of my furniture was broken and damaged. They told me, "If it was damaged during the loading and unloading, it is not covered!" So please explain what is covered and why even buy the insurance. I can see why they only have a 1-star rating. Ridiculous and completely crazy! Jennifer then said she needed to ask the movers if they broke or damaged anything. What does she think they will say, yes? Of course not! Absolutely a complete waste of time and money. Save your money or use a different company, as this one does not pay your claims.

Victoria "Tori" Gallagher is the worst adjuster ever. Never responds to any emails or calls. I stopped leaving voicemails. It took for me to call another branch (AZ) to message her on Teams for her to respond. That's super unprofessional. I think I got it though. This company moves slowly with claims because they don't have much money. I would not recommend.

Worst insurance company ever. They don’t cover theft at U-Haul, even though I paid for insurance and U-Haul forces you to store the containers overnight when you are moving. This cheap insurance company is pathetic, and U-Haul stole my stuff.

Scam alert: unprofessional customer service, ignores messages, and declines to pay anything for damaged items that they supposedly "insured". First, they couldn't locate a receipt for our claim. After we received a note from the U-Haul GM verifying the receipt, they stopped responding to my inquiries for updates. (The GM expressed confusion about why they didn't just call to verify the contract.)

So I filed a new claim with a different claim adjuster. This time he seemed to have no problem identifying the receipt, but he claimed they didn't have enough evidence. Following their suggestion, I provided video evidence of a flood to the unit, along with additional photos of our water-damaged items. Then there was no reply to my texts, emails, or calls for many weeks. After calling a manager, the adjuster admitted he hadn't even looked at the video. He also insinuated that I fabricated the claim.

Obtain insurance elsewhere or you are paying for your items to be uninsured.

Absolutely Horrendous Experience—Avoid at All Costs!

I cannot stress enough how awful my experience has been dealing with this company and their so-called "claims process." After being the victim of a hit-and-run accident involving one of their U-Haul vehicles, I did everything right—immediately reporting the incident, providing detailed documentation, submitting photos of the damage, and even following their requested checklist of required materials. Despite my full cooperation, I have been met with nothing but dismissiveness, unprofessionalism, and outright negligence.

The claims adjuster I dealt with was condescending, accusatory, and completely unhelpful throughout this process. Instead of treating me like the victim of a hit-and-run, they acted as if I was inconveniencing them by expecting accountability. Their tone was beyond disrespectful, implying that I was at fault for not capturing live footage of the incident—because apparently, we're all supposed to have cameras rolling 24/7 in case their drivers decide to flee the scene of an accident.

To make matters worse, when I followed up to check on my case, I was essentially led to believe false information and told that my documentation was insufficient—even though I submitted everything they requested. I even offered to pull red-light surveillance footage if needed, but it's clear that this company is more invested in protecting their drivers and avoiding responsibility than in doing what's right.

A quick look at this company's terrible reviews and history of disreputable behavior should tell you everything you need to know. It's appalling that they are still in business after all the lawsuits and complaints. Based on my experience, their deceptive practices and complete lack of integrity are par for the course.

This company should be ashamed of how it treats people, especially those already dealing with the stress and trauma of an accident. If you are considering using their services, don't. Run the other way. And if you're unfortunate enough to have to file a claim against them, prepare yourself for the fight of your life.

I will continue to pursue this case, escalate it further, and expose their behavior on every platform available. No one should have to endure this level of incompetence and disregard for the truth.

I brought to their attention the egregious acts of an undersigned/insured company via the u-Haul MovingHelp.com platform and was gaslit about the claim, my interactions after being physically, mentally, and emotionally threatened by their insured and ultimately denied by ReWest. I am a young woman and had no choice but to use the MovingHelp platform but typically had positive experiences and was not expecting a predator to enter my home. They were unequipped, unprofessional and one of the movers even THREATENED TO SEXUALLY ASSAULT ME IN MY OWN HOME. RepWest was informed of their clearly reckless behavior from the time that they arrived and still deny my claim without any proof of their reason for denial or consideration to the extent of damages. DO NOT USE MOVINGHELP.COM NOR RELY ON UHAUL CARGO COVERAGE OR THE SAFELOAD COVERAGE OF THEIR MOVERS. They propped their feet up on my U-Haul truck laughing and yelling loudly late at night smoking cigarettes. Every single time I asked them to quiet down or brought anything to their attention (damages and them dropping and banging my property included) they would become combative, yell and make excuses for their behaviors and completely disregard me. One mover used the MovingHelp rating system as a way to manipulate and threaten me in to giving a positive review in lieu of him acting on his threats of sexual violence. RepWest, however, continues to use the positive review against me despite the fact that I have repeatedly articulated clear concerns of my safety and that the mover specifically threatened me in to doing a positive review whereas common sense says they know where I live and during this move they also boldly bragged about committing other crimes further showing a complete disregard for law enforcement. All of this supports and substantiates a pattern of behavior that validates my claims of their movers damaging my property.

The absolute worst... the epitome of untrustworthiness... do not do business with them. They only offer protection with a $100 deductible and many exclusions. If you look at the exclusions, they can avoid covering just about any claim. You will just be wasting your money if you purchase their worthless insurance.

I have coverage for my storage unit. My unit was broken into, and my claim was approved. I was supposed to get a $955 check, but after 2 checks were supposedly mailed out to m ti 2 different address provided by me, I still have not received the check.
