I got at least half a dozen mortgage loans from R1CU for my rental properties, with excellent customer service and was even assigned a banker to help with the process. After I paid off all my loans, however, R1CU would not give me the time of day. When it came time to release the UCCs that R1CU had filed for each loan, I had to get the assistance of a title company to get the houses I sold released. I am currently trying to get a mortgage through a different lender, and R1CU is hindering the process. I can't get a new loan without the UCCs being released.

My husband and I applied for a Home Equity Loan. We completed the application and submitted it to George at Resource One Credit Union. Every day, George would ask us for another document, and then another, continually requesting more, which seemed to waste our time when he apparently knew from the start that Resource One CU was not going to loan us the $125k equity on our home, which is valued at $600k. Now, mind you, we have plenty of income and a 760 credit score, meaning we met all the requirements. Then, at the last minute, George informed us that our DTI was at 43%, which was the maximum. We were not over the max, just right at it. George with Resource One CU said that we did not qualify because of the DTI, even though pulling our credit was the first thing that was completed. If the DTI was an issue, the loan should have been stopped at that point. We have been with Resource One CU for over 15 years, and this is the treatment we received! We even said we would use some of the $125k to pay off one of our properties, but still, that was not good enough. I am furious.

I applied for a CD account. They waited 30 days to inform me that they needed to send my pre-approved, 30-day-old application to compliance (after I called to receive an update). I sent them all the required documents from the very beginning (30 days ago). Waiting that long changed the APY considerably. Manager Leticia handled it horribly. I ended up canceling my application. I do not recommend this credit union. Very unprofessional.

Worst bank ever. After changing my address online months ago and they did not notify me that they were changing from visa to Mastercard. They left me with no other way to pay for bills other than cash. Day 4 and there credit card machine is still not working to print out new debit cards. I had to drive to the location 3 times to see if I could get a credit debit card and still not able to. No sorry no apology no email showing concern that my auto payments will be late due to there Incompetence and lack of empathy for what there mistake is causing. 4 and a half hour waiting for a call back for the next available Representative. Finally got Mt cards that were mailed toy old address returned to send after I changed my address months ago. Still don't Have my business debit card yet. A representative rushed out my so-called business debit card. But to my surprise, the one that came in today was my regular checking visa debit card. They have made every mistake possible and the experience of being a member and having the worst customer service. I have ever experienced in my life. Very disappointing to the point I will be searching for a new credit union that hopefully shows a little customer service. I WOULD NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT HAVING THIS BANK TO ANYONE. YOU WILL REGRET IT I PROMISE!!!

Horrible underwriters un educated about finace and Tax Laws and there software is out dated, by 10 years! Avoid at all cost they pull your credit and then choose the worst credit bearaeu to give an interest rate. So I had 10.3 percent which I thought it was 6 percent. I just refinanced at my own credit union for 2.9 percent. This company is GREED Driven. This Frank Medillan at the Joned rd. Thinks he knows about finace ?Needs to be let go and shuned!?

They claimed to have sent my title out once my auto loan was paid off, but they didn't confirm my address prior to sending it out, years after I started the loan. I have no way of confirming if they ever sent it or if it was mailed to the correct address. So when I try to sell the vehicle years later, I ask that the release of lien be sent directly to the DMV. They offer resistance for some reason, wanting instead for it to be sent directly to me. There's no explanation as to why they insist on sending it to me. It takes multiple emails to convince them to send it to the address given to us by the DMV. The DMV never received it.
Resource 1 refused to mail it with a tracking number, saying "we don't do that." I asked to have the release of lien sent directly to me, and they then told me "we're going to have to charge you" a $25 penalty fee for the documents to be sent out again. Going to have to? There's no judgement or consideration for the circumstances here?
I'm less frustrated with the dollar amount than I am with being nickeled/dimed/penalized *and* not being given the benefit of the doubt after years of trusting my money to this organization. I told them that I wouldn't pay the fee unless they provided me with a tracking number, and somehow they managed to do it this time. The customer service provided to me by the members of the title department rivals that of the government in terms of lack of appreciation for the very people keeping them in business.

I have had a checking and savings account with Resource One since my junior year of high school in 2007. Not once have I had an issue with them until I moved to Denton to attend college. It wasn't so much an issue, as it was miscommunication I believe, but either way it really messed up my first few weeks of college. I had my card stolen and when I called customer service to let them know the initial conversation was simple, but they messed up inputting my correct address and I did not receive my card for about 3 weeks, and that was very hard to manage with being in a new city and having no money. It was terrible, but to this day I still have an account and that is the only issue I have ever had with this company. Even so, I highly recommend them for anybody looking for a stable bank, and no hassle or monthly charges.

I have banked with Resource One Credit Union for three and a half years and have been very happy with their service. There were some initial problems getting my accounts set up properly, but their customer service representatives were always courteous and knowledgeable and worked with me to get the mistakes corrected with the least inconvenience possible. Fee-free checking, optional overdraft protection, convenient hours and locations, friendly staff, and partnerships with other credit unions make them a real pleasure to do business with. Their additional “perks” such as discounted rates on car insurance and warranty programs make banking with them even more attractive. Additionally, they go out of their way to make customers feel welcome when they visit a branch. Coffee, juice, and popcorn are always available in the lobby of the branch I visit regularly in Houston. I would highly recommend Resource One Credit Union to all of my friends and family.
