Scott Credit Union

I would not recommend this bank/credit union even to my worst enemy. They find ways to take your money in small increments. For example, I have a few automatic transfers set up each week just in case I forget to transfer funds. Yet, these people continue to charge me $5 transfer fees. So, no sir, no ma'am, I don't recommend this bank/credit union to anyone.

I have banked with SCU since the 1990s. I will be closing my account due to the inept and bad customer service. Please, if you are reading this, stay clear. First, they switched over to a new system. They gave my ex-husband of 7 years access to my account and would not remove him even when he was on the phone with them verifying and asking them to remove him. After waiting in line due to the number of customers in the bank because of SCU transitioning to a new system, I was told to wait in line again. 'Deshon' would not remove him. Also, we overheard one of the customer service reps tell a customer that everyone should read their emails. How about that for customer service? I will be taking my accounts to USAA and NFCU. Good riddance!

Though they do offer many of the same services as other institutions, it takes way too long for anything to post to the account. I have multiple accounts across a few credit unions and Scott is the only one that doesn't post 24 hours a day. All other CU's you see the purchases posted within 2 days maximum which assists to coordinate account use. With today's online capabilities, it should be automatic.

STOP! Don’t even waste your time trying to deal with them! I had sent all my stuff in for the pre approval and have yet to hear back from anyone over a week later. I called on a Friday and was supposed to get a call back from the manager on Monday, needless to say I didn’t get a call back until Tuesday at almost 4 and still have received anything regarding the pre approval. Check out a smaller community bank first, because SCU told me I would need a co-signer and all this other stuff when the small community bank I’m going through was able to approve the loan with just my name and even offered a grant to use. Not to mention the small bank has FANTASTIC customer service unlike SCU.

A bunch of crooks!!! The rich getting richer off of scu members transfer fees and overdrafts charges. Loan department is bias and let's not even mention how rude some of the staff is at some of the branches.

Vert helpful was always there to help.me when I needed no matter when I called they were there to help and answer my questions and guide me through the process

Scott credit union is awesome, would recommend to everyone. Very nice people at all branches, always willing to help you and get thing figured out. Just wish I was a little older and wiser when I had my accounts with them.

I have been a member since 1998. When I moved out of state, I thought I had to close my accounts but they said no, I didn't have to. Since then (5 years ago) though, customer service has tanked! Right now I am not even able to get through to close my accounts! If you call the member line, you stay on hold forever; if you select to have them call you back, no one ever does; I sent them a letter in the mail requesting that my accounts be closed--no response. Worst!

I’ve never had an issue with this loan company. They also offered a lower interest rate for a used vehicle than any other bank I’ve tried with.

Scott Credit Union decided to let go of my Loan Officer but no one followed up with me when I was trying to refinance my home loan. I got back in the cue when I emailed to find out what was happening months later. Then they got all the way through the process of my loan, I paid for the appraisal and then they wouldn't proceed with it. I lost all that $$ with no refund even though I had already done an appraisal earlier this year that they wouldn't accept. Not happy with the service or the outcome with this credit union.

No body came close to offering me what Scotts Credit union did!!!!! My instrest rate in low and my payments are low thanks to them, would recommed them to anyone in the market for a new loan of any kind.

Paid off in full August 2019 why still showing delinquent???? They have a really bad attitude in customer service . I will never deal with them again.

This is the absolute worst credit union or financial institution I have ever done business with!! Avoid them!! I wasted 15 yrs of my financial life with this bunch of narcissists. I am a twice widowed mother and they gouged me for 20k in o/d fees in that 15 yrs refused to give me a low interest loan or credit card but instead pushed their courtesy pay overdraft protection, charging me unlimited $27 fees a day and their ready reserve line of credit at 18%!!! I finally got out and opened two new accounts elsewhere and dumped them for good but have informed the regulators and going to contact a lawyer. They are also claiming a non profit tax status but gouging widows and now getting their slimes, greedy hands in investments!!! One day they will have to answer to God for all and I pity them those of us who are Christians and have read the Bible know that those who harm the widow and orphan will face the wrath of God, nothing angers him more!!!

I sold my vehicle to someone who obtained a loan from Scott Credit Union on Carlyle. The appointment was at 4 and we did not get seen till after 5. Service was terrible! I will never do business with anyone that is using Scott Credot Union for financing!!!

SCU is a great bank, until one payment is late. Yes, I know, pay your bills you leech. Well that's all great except a car got totaled, their GAP didn't pay for 60 days of my calling SCU and the GAP corporation over and over. Got another car in that time, and awaited to see what my leftover payoff would be after everyone paid out for the claim.
During this time my wife's job ended and so I am the sole provider. No big deal, except this was unplanned so a bill got behind - the totaled car I'm waiting to get the payoff for due to their slowness. So the totaled auto loan hit 30 days past due. During this time I have been calling them and trying to get GAP done. According to SCU this is an absurd amount of time and they don't know why it's taking so long. Short version - I'm not ducking my bills, and am trying to get it over with quickly.
The day the auto loan went 30 days past due, my debit card and all accounts were frozen. This is after no late payments for our mortgage, totaled car loan, and new car loan over at least 4 years. 48 payments and great credit and they pull this after being in communication constantly.
*Fortunately* for me they were gracious enough to unlock our checking, savings, and kids' savings accounts as a courtesy once I complained. After more complaining once someone called me back, they were sweet enough to unlock my debit card as well.
There was no warning during any of my calls that this could happen. I called them 3 times the day after this happened and got 3 different explanations as to why my card wasn't working - finally the last guy told me it was due to the auto loan hitting 30 days.
I will be leaving ASAP. I will take a hit on the current auto loan for a point or even two just so that SCU won't be getting our money any longer and will be going somewhere else. The mortgage - I am probably stuck with the excellent rate there, but I will be paying it off as soon as possible.
I'm sure they have this ability/authorization hidden in terms and conditions somewhere, so they have the right to do it. However just because you have the right to do something doesn't make it right.
This is the kind of crap that makes people do graffiti. I'm not threatening, but I understand.
