Step is great. I recommend Step to those who like smooth transactions!

Don't deal with Step! Very dishonest company. As soon as I opened an account and was offered products, I logged in later the very same day and received a message saying that I was no longer eligible due to a "change in their assessment" for those same products. I was never asked for nor did I provide any additional information within just a couple of hours, so how does that happen? That's very suspect.

Great for being able to add money to the card from another bank, with seemingly unlimited deposits. However, when you withdraw from Step to another bank, the withdrawal amounts are very limited.
It advertises early direct deposit, but I have yet to have my funds available early from a government pay direct deposit.
Step has no customer service telephone; if you need to contact them, your only options are through chat in the app or an email.
Every question asked is answered by a generic canned response. Customer service is non-existent.
If you want a prepaid account, I would go with Chime or another provider, and avoid Step.

Mine and my daughter's accounts were closed without any explanation. We had money in the accounts, but we just didn't use them often. So, we stepped out a message on the account to transfer all the money to another bank by a certain date. The account would be closed.

Do not bank with Step; you will regret it. Their promises are not genuine. They claim you can receive your direct deposit two days early, which has proven to be untrue. On two occasions, my paycheck was deposited on the day the check was issued and not two days prior. They blamed this on my company not notifying them two days in advance. However, when I contacted my HR department, they confirmed that Step was notified. It's important to note that Step's partner bank is Evolve, which means there is a two-step process involved. I only used this account to pay bills, which caused issues with some of my vendors.

Please take my advice: opt for a well-known brick-and-mortar bank. I have just switched to Discover and will never deal with an online bank again. When you use a brick-and-mortar bank, you have the benefit of communicating with a live agent, which can be incredibly valuable. Additionally, some vendors do not accept credit cards as payment, which I found frustrating while banking with Step.

Mark my words, do not bank with Step. Their customer service is AWFUL

Step is a scam. I had my tax money sent to it, and Step took it and acted as if it was never deposited. When I contacted them about where it went, they said they never received the deposit. I insisted that I saw it that morning, but the next time I logged in, it showed a zero balance. I did some research and discovered they have been taking many people's money without any explanation. Do some Better Business Bureau research, and you will see they are criminals.

You can't get in touch with anyone, and it usually takes days before any response. I have disputed certain transactions, and they have closed them out - not because they were false, but because they didn't want to deal with it they will tell you if the case will be refunded or refused permanently . I am changing back to a regular bank and I'm taking a few others who are with Step as well with me. They can lock your account at any time, and you can't get back in until you speak to someone through email. Please not with my hard earned money St -u

Absolutely horrendous customer service. There is no way to contact them by phone, only emails. There is no way to contact a manager. There was an easy fix to my problem, and they only allowed me to use a convoluted solution which would put my daughter's money under their control for at least 90 days. They are crooks.

They have kept my daughter's money after we requested it back because they keep saying there are technical difficulties, and it's been over one month! Every time we request her money to be sent to us, they keep blowing us off!

Reliable banking without all the fees and the benefit of getting paid early. This bank also reports to the credit bureau and is good for teaching my teenagers how to manage their money and credit.

I really love this Account & definitely have recommended to others as it's great for parents and teens but also great for parents to improve their credit score as well as save, spend, and buy crypto.

Step is an amazing card and app, I love it, there’s so much you can do with it and so much you can get back with it, I recommend it to anyone.

I would recommend this card to anyone wanting to help there and credit. There customer service is top notch and definitely a must of you have teenagers.

This card is great and you get paid early and every time you swipe your credit goes up I love and if anyone asked I would recommend this card to everyone more ppl should be using this card it’s great
