When I lived in North Carolina for college, I used Highlands Union Bank as my main bank for several years. Their customer service deserves the most praise out of everything. I never once had an issue that wasn't resolved in a timely manner, and with incredible politeness and kindness from the staff. The application process was quick and painless, and they gave plenty of information on the checking account I was opening. If I move back there, I will definitely continue my business at the HUB, and may open additional accounts, and use them for car loans and other services.

To be honest Ive never given this bank/institution much thought despite being a native Georgian. I pretty much did the norm and joined suntrust saving bank. I was introduced to FCB by a friend and they were explaining to me their interest rates, the lack of monthly fees and all of the key points and advantages FCB has. Afterwards i did my due diligence and went online and did my research. After checking out the website and going over the terms and agreements i decided to go into a local branch and check them out first hand. The patron were warm and friendly. They sat me down and went over the plus/minus of having a direct savings account with them as well as some of the advantages and perks of FCB. I compared it to suntrust (which i have no ill-will towards) and the deciding factor was a higher interest rate and the special/promotion they had going on. A year later and i still have no complaints
I have been with Highlands Union Bank for over 10 years now. I have always had great customer service and excellent telephone service as well. I appreciate that there are several branches throughout the Tri-Cities area for my wife and I too. I also think that the hours are awesome! I have had some papers notarized as well. At 2 different branches, one in Abingdon and one in Bristol, VA the notary came to my car and did that paperwork for me since I was disabled and could not easily get into the bank! With direct deposit and great people at the helm, I will be with Highlands for a long long time.
