I have had Wells Fargo now for two years and just recently I exceeded the federal D limit on my savings once this month and once like maybe 6-7 months ago. I use it for emergencies and to save up for a car. But because I have exceeded it twice in the last year my savings account is being turned into a checking account . I emailed them about this because I only exceeded it twice which I have never done before and they said they couldn’t help me that it would be turned into a checking account so I guess I’m taking my business to another bank because that’s ridiculous I paid the stupid $15 fee and I’ve been a loyal customer for a long time I’ve only exceeded that stupid rule twice and this is how they treat me with bad customer service

I have had a regular savings account with Wells Fargo for years, and wanted to add something to help me save a bit more money without thinking much of it. When I was at a branch location, one of the reps suggested the Way2Save savings account, and I have really enjoyed it. I have automatic transfers each month from my checking to my savings, so I avoid any monthly fee. Additionally, with each charge to my checking account, a dollar is transferred from my checking to my savings. You don’t really notice it, but this does start to add up! The interest rate isn’t really much to speak of, but that wasn’t my main concern with this account anyways. I have never had any problems with any of my accounts with Wells Fargo, and I really enjoy having this savings account with them!
I have my Way 2 Save savings account with Wells Fargo and I have been very pleased with Wells Fargo. I enjoy the convenience of transferring money between my savings and checking account. It usually takes no more than a couple of minutes and I can transfer money online. Having had other savings accounts that required a minimum balance, I was attracted to the savings account with Wells Fargo because it was free of any minimum balance requirement. The only problem that I've ever had with this account was from not being familiar with the Way 2 Save Program. I wasn't quite aware that money would be transferred from my checking account to my savings account each time I used my card when I started with the Way 2 Save account and the automatic transfers actually led to my checking account over-drafting on one occasion. Wells Fargo was very helpful and waived the fee as a courtesy. After learning this, I haven't had this issue again. All in all, I've been extremely satisfied with my Wells Fargo savings account.
I have one of my multiple savings accounts with Wells Fargo (as well as a checking account). I’ve had my account slightly more than a year. I’ve no problems and there really is nothing spectacular to share…. Except the fact that I have NEVER been provided with the exceptional level of customer service and professionalism that I have with Wells Fargo. The only down side, specifically related to my savings, is the minimum balance required to avoid the monthly fee. Now, I have a balance far exceeding the minimum requirement, but my first few months establishing my savings, I kept being charged the fee for not meeting the minimum. I think they should either lower the minimum requirement OR, IMO, the best option, get rid of it all together, for those with a checking, in attempts to promote people saving.
I have been using Wells Fargo as my savings account provider for over three years now. My experience with them thus far has been nothing but positive. My savings account information is easily accessible and when I have had questions or issues in the past their customer service team is prompt and efficient at addressing my concerns. Wells Fargo also has a great mobile app so that my savings account balance is easily available if I need to check my balance. I also appreciate the fact that with the size of Wells Fargo, I am never far from a branch of an ATM that I can access my savings account if needed. While 'big banks' can definitely get a bad reputation, I feel Wells Fargo does a great job of earning my continued loyalty with the operations of their savings account program.

I've had the Way2Save savings for aprox. 1 year now, I really like it. I know it's not that much of an interest rate but it works like a piggy bank. I've had some difficulty trying to stay above the 300 balance required to avoid the fee because of recurring emergencies, I don't make that much money and we are a low income family. Apart from that, I love how everytime I make a payment with my debit card it transfers money automatically to my savings since I linked my accounts. Very efficient, don't expect to make money from the interest rates but overall I trust this bank so that's why I have it.
We've had our account for several years now. I've had generally no problems with it, however, try as we might, we can't keep the balance over the $300 due to emergency needs(car, doctors, vets, etc). I really do wish there was such a thing as a savings account that didn't charge or fault you for needing to go below the minimum for emergencies. We are a lower middle class family, and struggle to live month to month on what we have. Watching what little money is left in our account dwindle away month by month because we simply don't have the extra to put back in is discouraging to me.
I have been using the Way2Save account for about 6 years now. I love how low the fees are and how well it integrates with my checking account. If my checking account overdraws then the Way2save will automatically try to transfer funds into my checking account so that i don't have to pay an overdraft fee. The customer service for Wells fargo is top notch and while the account doesn't have the highest of interest rates, its consistent and very safe.
My favorite features of my Way2Save account are the low fees and ease of use. I have automatic monthly transfers from my Checking account in order to make sure I save for the future. I greatly appreciate the linked account overdraft protection I get with this account. It's the only savings account I've ever had and I plan on keeping it that way for the foreseeable future! Wells Fargo has always been very helpful in resolving any kinds of issues I run into with any of my three accounts. They have quickly cleared up any and all fraud issues I've had over the past 10 years.
I have really enjoyed my way2save account. The fact that it is linked to my checking account is very efficient for saving money quite well. However, it sometimes makes me tight on money after several uses, since $1.00 comes out of your checking into you savings every time you use your debit card, no matter how small the purchase. There is a $5.00 monthly fee if you let your account drop below $300, which is good so long as you avoid withdrawing from your account. Even in an emergency, $5 isn’t too bad. My previous bank charged $10. The interest rate here is pretty low, as to be expected from a savings account. Overall, I am very pleased with my savings account. Wells Fargo has been a wonderful bank to me.
The minimum opening deposit is different depending on the type of account you want to open. You can find the complete list here: https://www.wellsfargo.com/savings-cds/, and you can also open the account online using the same link.
The CD rate at Wells Fargo is 0.01%. There is also a 0.02% bonus rate. These are regardless of term or balance amount. To receive the bonus rate you must maintain a linked Wells Fargo Prime Checking or Portfolio checking account. The minimum opening deposit for a certificate of deposit at Wells Fargo is $2,500.
If you have the Way2Save savings account, you need to maintain a $300 minimum daily balance in order to avoid the monthly service fee. If you have the Platinum savings account, the minimum daily balance required to avoid the monthly service fee is $3,500.
