To report a lost Platinum Card®, call American Express customer service at 1 (800)-528-4800. You can also report a lost Platinum Card® through the American Express website or mobile app. American Express will request some information to verify your identity before sending a replacement.
How to Report a Lost Platinum Card®
- Call American Express customer service at 1 (800)-528-4800.
- Inform the customer service representative that you’ve lost your card.
- Provide any requested information, such as your date of birth or the last four digits of your SSN.
- Ask the American Express rep to cancel your old card and send a replacement.
You should receive a replacement Platinum Card® within 1-5 business days. When you receive your replacement Platinum Card®, you’ll need to activate it before you can make purchases. And if there are any recurring charges linked to the old Platinum Card®, make sure to update those accounts with your new card information.
Finally, it’s important to note that your Platinum Card® is covered by $0 fraud liability, which means that you will not be held responsible for unauthorized purchases made with your card while it’s lost. You should still give your card issuer immediate notice of any unfamiliar charges on your account, though.
