You can request a Chase credit limit increase by calling customer service at 1-800-432-3117. To raise your chances of being approved for a higher credit limit, pay your bill on time for at least six straight months, reduce your outstanding debt, and update the income Chase has on file. Chase will be more likely to increase your credit limit if the revised income clearly shows that you can afford a higher limit.
Impact of a Chase Credit Limit Increase on Your Credit Score
When you request a Chase credit limit increase, Chase will conduct a hard pull of your credit report, which will cause a short-term dip in your credit score. Chase cannot do a hard pull without your permission, though.
On the other hand, there are times when you could be eligible for a Chase credit limit increase without even requesting one. Chase may offer an automatic credit limit increase if its regular reviews of your account show a history of on-time payments and low debt. An automatic credit limit increase involves a soft pull, which does not affect your credit score.

I’ve had a representative from Chase confirm that they stopped doing hard pulls on credit limit increases a few years ago and that every form of personal credit limit increase only involves a soft pulls (whether it’s personally requested online or over the phone by you/the customer or it’s automatically applied by Chase). This has also been my experience when I personally requested a Chase credit limit increase through their secure messaging service on the Chase App and the several automatic credit limit increases that Chase has applied to all three of my Chase credit cards over the past three years since I opened my first Chase credit card. **PLEASE NOTE - I am a screenwriter NOT a banking of financial expert or professional. This is merely my own personal anecdotal experience. Please call Chase directly and ask a Chase representative to confirm their most recent and updated policy on hard pulls vs. soft pulls before you take any action regarding a personal credit limit increase
