The Chase Sapphire Reserve card balance transfer limit is either your credit limit or $15,000, whichever is lower. If the balance you want to transfer is greater than the limit, Chase will either decline the request or transfer only a part of the balance. The Chase Sapphire Reserve card has a balance transfer fee and APR as follows:
- Balance Transfer Fee: Either $5 or 5% of the amount of each transfer, whichever is greater.
- Balance Transfer APR: From 20.24% to 28.74% (V).
These aren’t particularly favorable terms, especially since many cards offer 0% intro rates and some offer no fees on balance transfers. But that's because the card was designed to earn travel rewards, not to help you pay off debt.
