To get 5% cash back on travel with Chase Freedom Unlimited, you need to book your travel through the Chase Travel portal. Travel purchases available through the rewards portal include airline tickets, hotel accommodations, car rentals, cruises and other activities. If you use your Chase Freedom Unlimited for travel outside of the Chase portal, it will only net you 1.5% cash back.
You can access the Chase Travel portal online, via the Chase mobile app, or you can call customer service at (800) 432-3117 to reach the Chase Travel Center.
