The PNC Cash Rewards® Visa Signature® Business Credit Card offers rental car insurance as a complimentary benefit, and it covers you against damage caused by theft or collision. Cardholders are covered up to the actual cash value of most rentals. To get the coverage, a cardholder must decline the rental agency’s insurance and pay for the rental entirely with a PNC Cash Rewards® Visa Signature® Business Credit Card or rewards.
Key Things to Know About PNC Cash Rewards® Visa Signature® Business Credit Card Rental Car Insurance
- Coverage Amount. Up to the actual cash value of most rented cars.
- Coverage for Domestic Rentals. For rentals within your home country, coverage is secondary, meaning you need to file any claims first with your primary auto insurance, if you have one. This secondary coverage applies for rentals up to 31 consecutive days.
- Primary Coverage Situations. Coverage becomes primary if you rent the vehicle outside your home country (abroad), or if you rent the vehicle for commercial or business purposes domestically or abroad. Coverage lasts up to 31 consecutive days.
- Limitations. Not all vehicles or incidents are covered. The PNC Cash Rewards® Visa Signature® Business Credit Card rental car insurance does not cover certain vehicles like cars that are expensive, exotic or antique, trucks and motorcycles, to name a few. Certain incidents such as wear and tear, gradual deterioration, or mechanical breakdown also are excluded.
