No, you don’t need a U.S. Bank account to apply for the U.S. Bank Shield™ Visa® Card. You can apply for this card without having an existing relationship with U.S. Bank.
However, you’ll need a U.S. Bank checking or savings account to redeem your cash rewards as a deposit. If you don’t have one, you can still redeem your U.S. Bank Shield™ Visa® Card rewards as a statement credit.
