You can transfer Marriott Bonvoy points to your Delta SkyMiles account online, using Marriott’s “Transfer Points to Miles” page. The conversion rate is 1,000 SkyMiles for every 3,000 Marriott points you transfer. To complete a transfer, your Marriott and Delta accounts must be under the same name.
How to Transfer Marriott Points to Delta
- Go to the Transfer Page: Navigate to Marriott’s “Transfer Points to Miles” page.
- Initiate the transfer process: Click the “Transfer Points” option and log into your Bonvoy account.
- Choose Delta as the travel partner: Select Delta SkyMiles from the “Frequent Flyer Program” dropdown and enter your SkyMiles member number.
- Select the exchange rate: Enter the number of Marriott points you wish to transfer to Delta SkyMiles from the “How many Marriott Bonvoy points do you want to transfer?” field.
- Review and confirm your request: Double-check all transfer details, then click “Continue” to finalize your request.
You can transfer up to 240,000 Marriott points per day. Transfers aren’t instant, so it’s best to allow a few days and avoid waiting until the last minute if you plan to book flights.
Is It Worth It to Transfer Marriott Points to Delta?
Marriott points are worth about 0.82 cents each when you use them for hotel stays, so 3,000 points get you around $24.6 in bookings. But if you transfer those 3,000 points to Delta, you'll only get 1,000 SkyMiles, worth about $11.20 - meaning you're losing $12.8. As a result, transferring points to Delta usually results in a loss of value.
