Busey Bank Checking Accounts

I was treated unfairly and had a terrible experience with someone named Joseph at the Mt. Zion branch. Ridiculous...and he was very rude. I am very disappointed by the way my business was handled.

Predatory on overdraft fees. Removes the human element and does not care about long time customers. You are just another number and account to them. 0 stars if it was an option.

When your account gets hacked by the no-good people via technology, Busey Bank Will Not Go To Bat For You! What they will do is discharge you as a customer!!! And say see you later after you repay all of their extensive and expensive fees!!! Busey security technology is the worst I have seen. Their customer service is non-existent!!! Their support of their customer is non-existent!!! Do Yourself a favor and stay away from them as far as possible in every and all regards!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In any other bank when you run your debit Card as credit it stays on pending for no more than 24 hours, at which point the balance reflects the transaction. At Busey, the balance is affected immediately but the transaction stays on pending status for five to six days. If and when the account goes into overdraft during that period the pending item generates another bank fee. What a nasty bank!

I've had a checking and savings account with Busey Bank for 10+ years, but I'm done with it. I'm tired of feeling like they are taking advantage of me and acting against my interests. In addition, mobile banking and ebanking has become inaccessible in recent months. I would not recommend this bank.

Worst bank I've ever dealt with. They just shut your account down if you have no money in it during the corona virus. Now I can't even receive my stimulus check because my account doesn't exist anymore. Also not allowed to log in because my login is gone now too. They tried to fix it for me once and said I had 5 hours to basically deposit money into the account or it was still going to be cancelled. Depositing money via wireless transfer takes 3 days from another account. Would never recommend Busey to anyone.

Worst Bill Pay System Ever! The features are very limited. There are software bugs. It's not user friendly. Most payments take 7 days because they send checks instead of electronic payments including utility companys..why would a bank this size send paper checks to a utilitiy company??? You can't tell WHEN your money is going out. You cant balance your checking account because you have no idea what is on the week long mail trail. Everything is marked "Paid" once it hits the send date even though it has not cleared your account. Nothing is shown by the cash date, only the send date and that date is in reverse order (with the furthest out listed first). You have to load 3 screens to see what checks are going out THIS week and then use the search function in your account to see if the check has cleared your account. The recurring payments don't work. If you choose to pay more or less in the current month, it changes every month after with no other option. It's like the software was written by a teenager!

Things will seem fine...until they drop the ball. I cannot explain it any better than that, I simply suggest doing business elsewhere.

The worst bank I've ever banked with, can't go to my app and see what bills have come through , I pay all my bills the first of the month here it is the 7th of the month and the busey app show none of my bills have come through, yet is show I have a low balance. I keep track of whats come through on the app, Well not anymore cause it won't let me see whats been paid. SMH. Gonna be looking for another bank. Thanks Bank Of Edwardsville for leaving your customers hanging.
