Zions Bank Checking Accounts

Incompetent bank and customer service. They do not send you a debit card upon opening the account, nor do they offer a virtual card like other banks. They also charge a $25 fee if you wish to expedite the card. The pin is sent in a separate envelope and takes 7-10 days, and cannot be expedited. Zelle payments made through Zion take 3-4 business days to post and receive. With other banks like Wells Fargo or KeyBank, it is instant.

The mobile app is constantly under maintenance, yet nothing improves; it's still slow and outdated. The entire bank is not up to current standards. Zion customer service representatives are rude, unhelpful and will hang up on you too.
Garbage!

Anyone who steals from me gets a one-star review. We have plenty of money, but because at one point there wasn't enough in the checking account, just in the money market, they charged us $29 without our knowledge. We found out two weeks later. I know many banks do this, but it feels like theft to me. I disapprove of any business that makes their money this way.

There was Fraud on my account. I wish I had the name of the man I talked to. But he accused me of knowing how the fraud was happening, made me cry, and basically gaslit me into begging for help after threatening to “just close my account permanently and no longer have access to it”. Like that seemed like the solution? I only use my online banking and was hoping to resolve the lock my account had on it. He was not understanding, very uncaring, and very unprofessional. Makes me want to switch banks! I have only ever used my online banking and he tells me I can ever use it, he was no help didn’t offer solutions, worst customer service. He told me he wasn’t customer service and that he was with fraud, while at the same time telling me I have to figure out what’s causing the fraud. And when I communicate possible ways I’ve been hacked he accuses me and treats me like I’m a crazy person, and like it doesn’t matter that I might need access my money, my savings, statements, transfering services? I get paid through Zelle and how am I even supposed to know what’s going on if I can’t use my online banking app? He tells me I need to go basically do more research and figure it out on my own. Isn’t it your job to help me??? Compared to Amex customer service Zions bank is garbage. I’ve always been talked to kindly with Amex customer service and then always resolve the issue quickly and with no accusations or threats.

My neighbor had a problem and went into Zions. The banker said, "Well, let's see what you did wrong." My neighbor went home to his wife and announced proudly, "I Fired Our Bank!" Much joy and laughter came to our small neighborhood that day! But Zions will get you on the small things, like a $3.00 paper fee. Even back in the old days when everybody used paper 140% of the time, nobody charged a paper fee! Zions does not look at it that way, they just find ways to flick you in the ear.

I am so sick of Zions bank. Every time I have to get something done here they fail. I’ve done wire transfers and they either lose it or forget to do it. They have a glitch on their website and I end up having to pay a fine. This bank sucks.

First, setting up a basic checking account is VERY intrusive. They make you answer all these private financial questions. Then they keep calling you after you set your account up to intrude some more. THEN we ask to have a debit card replaced when we are across the country on vacation, and it takes 3 WEEKS to get to us! How ridiculously cheap they are to choose bulk mail rate to send these cards, just to save 10 cents on postage. I could have sent my uncle a postcard across the country, and had him send it back to me faster than we got our debit card. When we get home, I will be closing all accounts with them, and going with an 100% online bank, that will expedite a replacement card. 1 star for sure.

It's one thing to have an old website that is not fully developed. It is another to lose bank deposits or have ATM give you a extra $1000 and then take $1100 back.... Something is very broken at Zions

The female teller with dirty blonde curly hair.... tall... rather masculine... should be fired.

She displays the worst customer service that’s ever been seen. Not only is she unfriendly, she’s also unwelcoming, inconsiderate and incompetent.

She has no place in customer service.

If you’d like your business to receive better reviews, start by getting rid of the dead-end employees. She was also NOT WEARING A NAME TAG. Perhaps it’s so she couldn’t be identified.

Zions Bank is probably the worst bank across the United States. If they made a better effort to hire worthwhile employees, they’d maybe have a chance. Until then, I won’t stop until this employee is removed from your roster.

I used Zion Bank for several years with no problems. I do most of my banking on line. They have recently started a "new" on-line banking system, and it SUCKS!!! It lost many of my payees, and stopped all of my auto-pay except for the power bill. I tried to pay one of my payees that were still listed today, and it would not allow me to do it. They wanted me to jump through some MORE hoops to pay the bill. What I AM going to do is change to my favorite credit union with all of my accounts.

Zions Bank took something that worked very well for me, and "up-dated" it to the point that I can't use it any more. Sooner or later these people will realize that they need us more than we need them. The people that answer the phones have always been very nice and knowledgeable, it is the big bosses that are the reason for all of this nonsense!
