Macy's American Express is the worst. Please never apply, or if they send you one in the mail, decline it. If you should have a fraud complaint—which I hope you never have to experience—believe me, Macy's will not help you. You might as well kiss it goodbye. I truly believe Macy's is getting a benefit when it comes to fraud; they are not interested in helping you at all.

Stay away from them and from Macys. Buy what you need to buy with cash you have. Instead keep the memory of the safer Gimbels (now gone) in mind:"the past is not dead; it's not even past."

Almost impossible to reach anyone who speaks decent English when trying to correct billing errors. I made a payment directly from my checking account (which I've had for 53 years) & they held payment for 14 working days before crediting my account. The Macy's Card is NOT an American Express card. Totally fake representation. They keep taking my points away after I've placed an order, so charge my account more, after the order is placed. Tried to cancel my card multiple times, but can never reach anyone, even overseas agents. Today's wait is 90 minutes. I used to shop at Macy's frequently, but not now. Very unhappy former customer!

Macy's Credit Card is serviced by a call center in Columbia, South America. The call center is only able to collect information. They are not able to provide any useful information. Terrible service.

Too bad I can’t put negative stars it would be -5 stars. I didn’t apply for a card, but someone did- in my name. They spent 185.00 2x Synchrony (after sitting on the phone forever) said they don’t know what I’m talking about and transferred me to their “ Fraud Committee” where I sat on the phone again. Then I get an automated voice saying all operators are busy “Good Bye” now I have to call back and start over. I had great credit- now they are messing with that. Who are these guys????

I have a Macy's Credit Card issued by Department Stores National Bank. In November 202 I over paid my account. Without authorization they indicated they sent a check refunding the overpayment without my consent. I never received the check and have called, emailed and chatted on line with what appears to be foreign customer service reps who have no comprehension of what is going on. I have spent hours over six months trying to resolve the issue and get my $249.84 back.

I am personally in disputes mode with DSNB over a $39.51 charge to my Macy’s credit card which has ballooned to $240 with late fees and interest. I never received my statements. They were sent to my prior residence even though my current address is on their website and I’ve changed it at least twice at the register when checking out. It’’s been 2 yrs since we moved and I’ve received prior Macy’s statements at my current address. Macy’s customer service no longer takes these calls; it sends you directly to DSNB. The best I could negotiate with DSNB was $160, and I’m not even sure the charges are mine! The purchase they referred to doesn’t show up on my Macy’s account web page. The DSNB rep blamed me stating, “It’s not my fault you didn’t change your address!”. I’ve been a Macys customer for 50 years. It was the first credit card I ever received. I am also a former Macy’s employee. I don’t know where I’m going to shop now, but but my guess is I’m done with Macys. Sad...so very sad...

I’ve been an account holder since 2016. I was set up for AutoPay, so I was never late with a payment. I was surprised when I got an alert on Experian that my account is closed as of 05/01/2021. I made a purchase in Mid-April and everything!! Even when I spoke to an agent who speaks really bad English, she said this was unusual. So if anyone is interested, RUN!! Just have 1-2 major credit cards and call it a day.

My mother was issued a Macy's credit card and after falling on financial hardship, she was unable to pay the monthly installments. She made every attempt to pay and even attempted to resolve her financial hardship by going to a debt settlement company. Unfortunately, she was not able to keep up with her overwhelming debt. This bank's answer to remedy their greed was to file a lawsuit against this 80 year old woman on a fixed income. Her only source of income is social security. She speaks very little english and this bank thought it was a good idea to start taking advantage of this fact by harassing her with relentless calls and threating her that if she doesn't pay, she was committing a crime. You would think that in these times, these large banks would be willing to help, but they're only interested in their financial bottom line. They should be ashamed of themselves!!

I had a Macy's credit card for approximately 4 years. I loved it, whenever I would shop at Macy's I would make a payment and see what they had. In 2018, I was hospitalized and underwent surgery. My sister was managing my finances. She would swing by my house and pick up my bills for payment.
I did not realize that I had coded my Macy's bill to be electronic and never told my sister to bring my laptop (after all after surgery where your body is shutting down, who wants to work?
Macy's decided that because I had not gone into the store or made a payment, they would just code my account as not able to be used, but accept payments. So when I got out of the hospital, they allowed me to make a payment at the register, collected the money, then did not allow me to use my account. It was absurd. DO not allow them to do this to you.
Stacy clear of DSNB and Macy's credit.
