Jared Credit Card's Additional Info
Deferred Interest Details: No interest if paid in full within 6, 12 or 18 months on minimum purchase of $300, $1,000 or $5,000 respectively.
Fixed Rate Financing: 16.99% APR for 36 or 48 months on minimum purchase of $3,000 or $5,000 respectively.
The Jared Credit Card is a good credit card to consider if you’re planning a jewelry purchase of $1,000 or more and your credit score is 640 or higher. There’s no annual fee, and you can save $100 on a $1,000 purchase or $500 on a $5,000 purchase. You can also get a $100 discount during your birthday month.
The card’s financing promotions could help you save money, too, but it’s less clear cut. If you spend $300 - $5,000, you could get 6 - 18 months without interest. That sounds great, but if you don’t completely pay off your purchase, you’ll owe a ton of interest charges – like the high regular APR was there from the start. This is called deferred interest. Similarly, the fixed rate financing offer could be useful, but only if you need years to pay off your purchase and you’re unable to qualify for a lower rate from another card.
Beyond that, the Jared Credit Card doesn’t bring much to the table. You won’t earn rewards on purchases, for example. If you’re interested in alternatives, you might save more with one of our best credit card picks.

HORRIBLE BEWARE! Shame on Jared for offering us a 12-month 0% interest-free credit card through the dreadful Comenity Bank, a Bread Financial company. Sneaky Jared Jewelers do not mention that you will wind up paying a $20+ "promotional fee" which defeats the purpose of the 0% offer! It's unreasonable, and neither Jared nor Comenity Bank take responsibility; it's all about the sale. Well, I refuse to pay this outrageous and sneaky promotional fee they added to my first billing statement, and I've paid my balance off in full and closed my account. DO NOT be fooled by fast-talking salespeople, and if necessary, use your own credit card. Writing a letter to the BBB and the CFPB!

Beware of the "residual interest" when signing up for their credit card! I went to Jared for an engagement ring and ended up signing up for their credit card for my purchase. I had 12 months interest-free; my total purchase was around $5,500, and by the end of the interest-free period, I had about $1,800 left to pay off. Now admittedly, I didn't realize that I was coming up on the 12 months, but by the time I realized the promotion had just expired, I was hit with about a $1,000 interest charge. To me, that is a ridiculous amount of interest, and like I said, I know I should have kept better track of the time, but I also feel that as a respectable company, there should have been some notification that the interest-free promotion was about to end. I didn't receive any notification in the mail or on my online account giving me a heads-up.
To me, it seems like they're banking on people forgetting so that they can charge them with these huge interest fees, which is a very sleazy tactic. So I tried to see if they could work with me at all on the interest charge, but they wouldn't budge. Okay, so I bit the bullet and paid off the entire remaining balance (which came out to around $2,800). But then the next month, I got hit with a $38 interest charge, even though my balance from the month before was $0! So I called to see why I'm still getting charged an interest fee on a $0 balance, and they said it's because of residual interest. All right, so a huge and very expensive lesson learned here: I will be more aware of what I'm signing up for in the future, and I've already closed my account.
But I want to bring to light that A) they should do a better job at explaining just how expensive it is if you have any remaining balance after the interest-free promotional period ends, and B) they should do a better job at reminding or notifying customers when their promotional period is coming to an end. And I get it, ultimately it falls on me for not paying better attention, but as a respectable company, you should be looking out for your customers and not trying to bank on them losing track of time just so that you can hit them with ridiculous interest fees because now you have lost a customer for life. I went somewhere and bought my wedding bands and will not be going back to Jared for anything in the future. Also, rest assured, I will warn anyone I know purchasing jewelry to avoid signing up for their credit cards.

Quality supply, friendly and welcoming staff at their Murray, Utah store. Their Assistant Manager is well-versed, and she is willing to extend an extra hand. I haven't met the new Manager yet. I loved the old one!

They will not leave me alone. At all. Even though I have 18 months no interest. It's so unprofessional. I have hit a snag and cannot pay for a while but yet they won't leave me the frick alone. It's frustrating. Always have this issue with synchrony.

It's a very convenient card to have but the interest rate can be very high even if you just carry a moderate balance. It's very convenient and easy to make payments or purchase new items online.

Easy to use. Website is easy to set up and make payments. Make sure to pay off during your promotional periods so you dont incure interest. Highly recommended.

Only good if you are going to shop for jewelry regularly. Otherwise it’s useless to have and I would only recommend using your own credit card to pay for whatever you may need and then paying it off.
