Lack of protection from unscrupulous merchants. Rented a car from Fox Car Rental in Ft. Lauderdale on December 23. Car had to be returned in one day as it was defective. Our return flight was cancelled by Southwest Airlines and no alternative flights were available from the same airport. We proceeded to the next airport, Palm Beach International, where we found a flight home with American Airlines. We were not only charged an exorbitant dropoff fee by Fox but they tacked on two days to the rental despite turning in the car on time. We disputed the charges with SDFU Visa which sided with Fox.
