They hit you with the deferred interest and boom... you call them and they say, "NOPE, WE CAN'T DO ANYTHING..." Customer service is the worst. "Mitch" especially... what a fake name they give. Oh well, I'm going to cut this card up and share my horrible experience with everyone.

The Synchrony Car Care credit card is a joke. I needed to get new rear struts for the car, and I bought them via Amazon. Amazon has parts stores that sell parts via the Amazon website. Well, I said, why not use my car care card? It's supposed to be for buying parts like batteries, tires, oil, but because it's Amazon, Synchrony Bank declined my card. They expect us to go to the parts store and pay an astronomical amount of money just so we can use the car care card. It's a joke. I do all the repairs to my own car. The only time I let Toyota do something was with the airbag recall, and they tried to give me back my car with my dashboard gouged. They tried to sand it and paint it. That's why no one will ever touch my car again, seeing that I'm a certified master technician who worked for Ford Motors, now retired due to a severe injury.
People who can repair their own car, stay far away from the Synchrony Car Care card. And on top of that, they hit you with a 34.9 percent interest rate. So, if you don't pay the bill off at the end of the month, it's going to cost you a heck of a lot more money. It's a bad card, stay far away.
When I need parts, I look around for the best price. If you go to the store for parts, you're going to pay a 100% markup. I won't do that. If you look around for just a little while, you'll find what you need cheaper, and 90% of the time it's the same brand that you were going to pay double for at the parts stores. I wish I could leave no stars.

It's a decent card if you have a large emergency car issue and need to pay it off by or before the 6th month promo offer ends. I'd rate it 5 stars, but they charge you to make each payment (it's not interest) and the APR wasn't so high. I pay it off monthly (excluding the promotion purchase) when my new purchases are at $250 or under. It really could be a better card without the payment fee, and I'd definitely use it more if that fee was eliminated and the APR was lower.

They canceled my card after three years with near-perfect payment history because I fell behind on my mortgage, which had nothing to do with the card. I would give this place a 0 rating if I could.

The worst customer service. When an agent no longer wishes to respond to your inquiry, you will be placed on hold and then disconnected. Use of non-promotional and promotional charges can be allocated. I choose to pay non-promotional charges in full to avoid interest and make a partial payment on promotional charges before the expiration date. In this world, there is no interest accruing. But for the last four months, I have requested my payments to be reallocated so that non-promotional is paid in full and the balance goes to promotional charges before expiration. Care Credit is getting sneaky and applying payments so that interest accrues. I filed four disputes over my allocation requests. I have received four different answers as to why my instructions were not honored. The interest is very small, $4.12, but I should not have any interest charges. I will never use this card except for promotional charges that are interest-free when paid within the time frame allowed. I can do this, but agents at Care Credit do what they want. If you cannot afford payments under the promotion, then do not apply for this card. The interest is 39.99%. This is not a typo! Customer service is awful.

"Disgusting" is the word I would use for this type of business. They draw you in with a no-interest payment option, which is of course very helpful for those who can't afford a $1,000 car part. You absolutely have to complete your payments before the promotion ends, or you will be charged with all the 12 months of interest payments for the interest-free year plus 30% interest from that point forward. So my charge was $1,100. I didn't get the bill paid in full before the end of the promotion, so I was charged with a $285 fee plus 30% interest. I have paid $460 in interest for the year and still owe $520 on my balance. Some help is not helpful; just know you have to pay before the promotion ends or don't accept the money from here.

The site is useless. I could never log on to make payments or set up automatic payments. It does not recognize my card/account number as valid. I had to make the first payment through their automated phone system. When it was time for my second payment, and I went through the whole maddening process again, I used the phone system to pay off the total balance, so I never have to deal with this horror again.

Drop my credit line from $4000 to $250 for no good reason, I told them to just close out my account with them. What a waste, they already don’t give rewards on purchases when the dealership told me they do before i even applied for the card.

Great card for gas and parts that you need for your car I haven’t had this card for very long, but seems to be a great car to have specially when you’re out on the road and need repairs.

Watch your account carefully. I was set up for automatic withdrawal and decided to make a small extra payment in the same month BEFORE the automatic withdrawal took place and the bank backed the same amount OUT of my automatic payment without my consent. This meant my automatic payment deducted my extra payment making my automatic payment less the same amount. An example: Automatic set for 100.00 extra payment 20.00. Automatic payment now reduced by 20.00 so now only 80.00 automatically withdrawn. I was notified by a letter after the transaction was completed. Not a good way to do business...I feel they totally want to make it difficult even when you are trying to pay a balance off! Work around...(there shouldn't be a need for one) is to pay AFTER the automatic payment is posted. I hope this information helps someone!
