Eric Allen with Farm Bureau in Kernersville, NC is the worst agent I have ever experience. He treats the elderly very bad. He cancels your insurance without an explanation. What I have discover is a rainbow at the end of riding him from my life. First we took our car insurance away from them. He will harass you to get you to buy more insurance. He should have harrassment charges and charges for not letting us know in a timely manner on our homeowner's policy. But I aint wasting anymore of my time on a less human being than I need. Just writing this to warn everyone but find out yourself. Back to the rainbow we have found another agency for car and home insurance and it is so much better with the same coverage. So apparently he was ripping us off on the preminums. To make the clarification of a rainbow, I am so happy to get rid of this pest and I did not need a pest control company lol.

While their rates are competitive, the claims processing is anything but. I was involved in a fender bender at 10 mph (I was at fault) and I found out after I had left NCFB that a BI claim was filed by the other party even though they said that no one was injured at the time. That BI claim will follow me for 5 to 7 years. Another time I was hit by a driver doing excessive speed that totaled the car and NCFB refused to subrogate the claim. I hired an acident reconstructionist to prove it and they still refused to subrogate it. They put in the least amount of work possible and leave their insureds out to dry. Stay far away.

A person insured with Farm Bureau struck my vehicle, accepted fault, and we filed a claim. I waited 3 days to hear from them before I called, only being told that liability couldn't be established until Kayla Hill (adjuster) received the police report, and when liability is accepted, I had to go through my own carrier since they arranged a tow from the scene. She was very unprofessional, never took a recorded statement, asked for damages or injuries, and I had to ask for the claim number. Almost a week later and still no contact. I called today and was told the FB adjuster told me liability is still pending, but then sent approval over to my body shop to repair my vehicle. I'm so irritated by the unprofessionalism and conflicting information. Farm Bureau is horrible.

The Farm Bureau has unprofessional people, and they are inconsiderate. When you cancel with them, they hold your request in the office and don't send it to the main office. They make you get a membership just for being with them during these hard times. It was a mistake to go with them; they are not good.

I recently was involved in a car accident with NC Farm Bureau being the insurers company of insurance. NC F.B. has been nothing but slow to respond to me. They’ve taken two business days to even get me in contact with the right adjuster. Unfortunately for me they don’t seem to have any sense of urgency to help me with my matters. It has taken an entire business day for them to refer me to a new adjuster. I was told early in the morning on 9/10/2025 that a new adjuster would be reaching out to me and it is currently 9/11/2025 and the adjuster dealing with my claim has not even reached out to me. No information was given to me to even know who the adjuster was. It was up to me to contact the Bureau to even know his name. My car accident was on 9/9/2025 and by the end of 9/10/2025 my insurance National General has already deemed me to not be liable for the accident. I am only waiting on NC Farm Bureau. This is more than upsetting. Their communication towards me has been very poor.

My house insurers recently withdrew from NC due to climate change, so I was seeking new insurers. I had Progressive for the car, but their joint car/house insurance was rather expensive. In the end, I chose Farm Bureau for both.
Recently, we were involved in a car accident (the other driver was liable), and we found out how good Farm Bureau is. They have been efficient, helpful, friendly – truly excellent. I cannot praise them enough.
I hope I don't need to test out their house insurance.

Fifteen years ago, a claim was filed after my upstairs neighbors had a plumbing leak to repair my unit. I was informed I only had $1000 coverage for the condo unit, not a $1000 deductible. Fifteen years later, after thinking this was fixed, the same thing just happened. The adjuster did not report or photograph the mold damage, did not offer the displaced living insurance coverage, nor the personal property coverage that I have. My friend, after several phone calls to the adjuster and insurance office, realized I had the additional coverage this time around. I am blind and deaf, so I depend on the honesty of others. This company is terrible, and I will be changing as soon as I finish remediating the damage for over $27,000 to my bathroom and closet. How can they even offer $1000 policy coverage for a condo? You can't even replace flooring for that anymore.

This is the worst company I have ever worked with. They failed to cancel policies when requested, causing an absurd increase in mortgage payments. They downgraded car policies without an email or phone call and never admitted fault. In fact, they had to be pushed even to admit that they failed to cancel the policy and NCJUA. Even if their price is a bit cheaper, they are not worth the hassle unless you are willing to triple-check behind them.

My 25-year-old daughter was involved in an accident. I wasn't there, was not involved in any way, and they listed me as the driver and raised my premiums instead of hers. They refused to fix it for 2 years despite phone calls, emails, and letters. Incompetent and unprofessional.

Contacted by NCFB demanding insurance information for son from Geico. Said if I didn't provide it, they'd add my son to my boyfriend's insurance without permission! Son has been covered and DMV approved by Geico.

My concrete floor collapsed on my covered porch. It's the main entrance to the house, the entrance with a ramp, and the only entrance my terminally ill mother can use. We had a big storm, and it collapsed. We didn't have flood insurance, but we are on a hill. Thirty years of homeowners and never a claim. Will check on changing when the policy comes up for renewal. The adjuster was hoping a tree fell. I had all the trees cut down to prevent that. Very disappointed with them.

I was satisfied with the service I received from my agent until he left Farm Bureau for another carrier. The new agent I was assigned provided subpar service and often required prompting just to get a response. Unexpectedly, I received a cancellation notice for my homeowner's policy. When I inquired about the reason, I was informed that unless I agreed to increase the coverage value of my home, which hadn't appreciated to the level they were demanding, my coverage would be canceled. Reluctantly, I agreed, which raised my premiums by 25%. After some research, I found Erie to be much more competitive for the same coverage. Over three weeks ago, I called to cancel my homeowner's insurance with Farm Bureau, and they still haven't processed it. I expected to have received a refund for the unused premium by now. It took a call to the corporate office to discover that it still hadn't been taken care of. The level of service has been disappointing throughout this process. I surmise that if they are so overwhelmed with business that they cannot manage it efficiently, then they do not require my patronage.

I have had insurance with Farm Bureau for many years. They have only had to pay a claim once, and it did not involve a lot of money. Several weeks ago, I asked them to remove the comprehensive insurance from one of my vehicles. When I received my last bill from them, the comprehensive insurance was still on the bill. I called the Laurinburg office several times to inquire about this, and they assured me that they had done what was necessary to remove it. I have never had a problem with Farm Bureau until now. The bill payment is due on March 4, and the charge is still there. I am currently looking for another insurance company. I am very disappointed with Farm Bureau.

I have been using this for four years now with no claims at all. I'll just say it may be cheaper, but when I went to file a claim for tire blowouts after I ran over debris scattered all over the interstate, for a mere $2,000, I was essentially told it was my fault for not swerving to avoid things on the highway while going at speeds over 60 mph. Moreover, on top of my deductible, my insurance rates would rise. It feels like a scam against American citizens. I pay enough already; help out the little guys.
