deactivated our debit card, as they said (for our protection) Well, this is on a Saturday. I told them we do not keep cash, we use our debit card. They said sorry we can't help you. No more. I'm done
The staff is always helpful, highly competent, friendly, and real. If I have a question about a transaction, I submit a secure message, and they always get back to me within 24 hours.
I once had an issue with Paypal withdrawing funds from my savings by accident when there wasn't enough in that account. I talked to ATelco and they waived the overdraft fee for me. They did a lot of research to find out what went wrong, and I felt very taken care of.
Their new mobile banking apps are awesome. I use them on my iPad and Android phone. The mobile check deposit feature is pretty great, although sometimes a bit finicky.
I haven't had any issues with their online banking interface. It's not the prettiest, but it works! Sometimes the check images won't load, though. It links up to Mint perfectly and it's easy to set up automatic transfers between my checking and savings.
First of all, every SINGLE employee in this bank was helpful and attentive. As I sat in the lobby waiting for a banker to assist me, I was asked if I was being assisted by several employees in passing. I also have to say the fact that I was offered coffee and water while waiting was also a plus in my book. Anyhow, I sat down with the teller and she gave me all the info I needed and so I signed up. About a month later, I had found out that Austin Telco ALSO had partnerships with other businesses in town. Not only did I have a bank near my work but I also had one near my residence on the other side of town. There are over partnerships which may not be called AUSTIN TELCO, but still allow banking at no additional cost. They did give me this pamphlet and list when I signed up, but I didn’t think much of it then.
Now here I am, living in Houston. Have I switched banks? NOPE. I called them and asked if it would be a problem if say I lost my debit card and couldn’t get to an actual AUSTIN TELCO BANK, and they said not at all. Given that my account says I’m living in Houston, they would certainly work something like that out on an individual basis.
Overall, this bank is awesome. They’re kind. They work with you. They see people on an individual case. If you have previous banking issues, they will still offer you a checking account – FRESH START CHECKING. I’m very happy with this place and would recommend it to anyone!
I did some research online and found some incredible reviews from past Telco customers and decided to give our local branch here in Austin a try. The customer service staff was incredibly nice and helpful making me not feel so embarrassed about trying to get this kind of loan as some kid with hardly any income. A service rep took the time to go over the entire application process with me and explain all the interest rates and contingencies were being placed on the loan. I was honestly very surprised at how affordable the rates were!
What was more surprising than the low rates and service was that I actually ended up getting approved! With the help of Telco, I was able to pay for the car and save even more by bundling with Telco insurance. The loan's now all paid off not too long after initially needing it, and I'm still so glad one credit union would work with me in good faith!
