This is my first negative review of any company. This is the WORST company I have encountered in the past 45 years. We purchased workers' compensation insurance with them for many years. I retired 4 years ago with no employees or claims. Final audits clearly indicated the above to the company. However, instead of giving us a refund like other companies I've worked with, this one charged me an additional $800 for nothing! They did not explain the reason behind this. Now they've sent the bill to a collection agency trying to force me to pay them. I already responded to the collection agency and am ready to fight them in court. I am writing this to inform the public that this is a dishonest, unethical company. Please stay away from them!

I've never seen a worse company than Amtrans, which denied my claim filed against their insured after acknowledging his mistake for professional liability. The claims adjuster made a denial decision within five days from the date the claim was filed without talking to me or looking at my evidence. The claims adjuster seemed like an idiot who was talking like a parrot, repeating his denial reasons, which stemmed from a biased and incomplete investigation after I pointed out valid reasons for the claim. I've filed a complaint with the state insurance department. I don't think this insurance company should be in business.

AmTrust is the worst company I have ever dealt with. The customer service is horrible, and for five years, every time they conduct an audit, it takes months to get my refund. I always have to contest their attempts to charge vehicle reimbursements and tip income to my workers' compensation policy, which is illegal in Colorado. I win every year, but they are unscrupulous and will take from you if you don't push back. Finally, I got sick of them and canceled this year (still waiting for my refund). My new policy was $2,000 cheaper.

Fraud, fraud, Jeffrey Raymond not doing his job. No one answers calls for more than 30 days, no one responds, no email back. They're unemployed with a paycheck.

This is a horrible company. If you cancel because they are so bad, they will conduct a fraudulent audit and have their lawyer from Leviton harass your company. They threatened us with a phony report that would increase our insurance costs tenfold in the future, potentially ruining our small business. We owe them nothing. This is a major scam! Stay away from these dishonest individuals!

Terrible company. Ridiculously high rates for what you get. They have billing practices that do not comply with the state law, and they charge a processing fee in states where it is prohibited.

Had an AmTrust policy for six years. I cancelled and switched to a new carrier. They sent me a bill for almost $3,000 for an "audit" six months after I cancelled. Unethical. They will get you in the end.

We’ll it’s been 10 months and Nicolaus Ehrler, and Adriel Whitmore told us sorry we didn’t respond for 10 months to your emails, phone calls, calls to IT to help us get into our account to see what was going on you didn’t somehow certify for benefits right. You can only claim 1 month and a half out of the 10 months short term disability. Wait but you told me to hang tight for one more week to get a settletlent offer. An offer that doesn’t even pay for my medical or my wages for that time. Oh sorry my mistake when you told me nothings to worry about. Do not make the same mistake I did and fire or not hire a lawyer on your case. Lawyers stink in the workman’s comp situation but who knows. But definitely don’t do like we did and trust a system that completely bankrupted us and I’m still not 100 percent. Just want this process finished so I can move on than to have to deal with another lawyer delay when next stop is us being homeless. Upon telling this to this company they couched up a number after a week with no breakdown and said this number is to buy your PEACE. WTH did that mean. Just another slap in the face knowing that we’re broke and accepting this does nothing but finish paying back the doctors. The doctors they initially turned me down for after 90 days of drawing this out hoping what that we’d forget. Lost my home, vehicle for a while, marriage took a complete dump that we’re trying to at least work through when I said don’t worry honey we’ll be ok soon. I hate Amtrust and lost any respect for a system that wasn’t about money but about getting better. Now it’s about money but we can’t fight any longer. I won’t watch my family be homeless on the street. This company caused us problems for years to come with credit problems, mental anguish, and physical problems that isn’t they’re problem I guess. If you have a choice run from these guys, it’s more than just saving a few dollars. They’re happy to say opps. Messed up. Here’s a couple dollars that you need now to look the other way. Extremely upset.

Horrible Place, Bad for business…. Very unprofessional, lady called business office and asked for the owner and started telling the owner’s business to random person that just answered the phone even after they said she will call them back ! DO NOT DO ANY BUSINESS WITH THEM

Absolutely terrible experience dealing with AmTrust. They quoted us around $780 for a 1-year policy and then at the end of the year conducted an audit in which they completely disregarded our actual payroll and decided they would multiply it by 10X and are trying to bill me an extra $8,000+.

Completely criminal and a nightmare to deal with. STAY AWAY.

Bumper to bumper warranty is a joke, I tried canceling they sent me a form 2 months ago, won’t return emails, 1245 dollars is nothing to sneeze at that’s only a third of what I paid but that was the difference when they refused a warranty issue! Buyer Beware!

BUYER BEWARE !!! IF YOUR contractor has this insurance ... RUN!!! They do not pay legitimate claims . You can verify bond on Contractors State License Board using General Contractor license number. The insurance companies retain lawyers to deliberately deny all claims. Amtrust is the parent Company . If you run into a contractor with this bond you be in for a headache should run into problems with your contractors.

Very unprofessional in handling a claim of mine on a vehicle. It took 15 days for me to get a response but the moment I started taking down names and asking to speak to managers they started working. Bought an extended warranty through them on a vehicle had taken care of some repairs without getting prior authorization and sent them the receipt about reimbursement but they refused to do anything. I’ll never purchase another extended warranty through this company. Sometimes taking care of a customer is better than saving a few dollars! Definitely wouldn’t recommend them to anyone.
