MAPFRE INSURANCE seems to show little concern for this customer, and I wish you the best of luck. In late 2023, I had a minor bumper-to-bumper incident. My agent stated the damages were under $1,000, so I would be deemed "not at fault." Four to five months later, I noticed a surcharge on my insurance and a letter weeks later from the "At-Fault" RMV Merit Board regarding another surcharge. Upon immediate contact with MAPFRE, I was informed there was a supplemental bill that increased the damages to $1,014.00, and a procedural complaint had been sent to the Merit Board. The MAPFRE Supervisor also stated that they are not required to inform me (as their paying customer) about any updates. We discussed why their One-Time Forgiveness had not been applied in my case. In summary, a multi-million dollar company is unwilling to overlook an additional $14.00 for a loyal customer. For clarification, their Supervisor confirmed that their One-Time Forgiveness policy does exist. This situation was unusual and unexpected, particularly since I have had a perfect driving record since 1996, so it was certainly unexpected not to be forgiven for $14.00. I wonder if their shareholders are aware of this type of customer treatment. I am incredibly frustrated by this experience, which is beyond belief. Everything was fine before this. There's a virtual hearing set for October 11th, 2025, at the Massachusetts Division of Insurance. Wish me luck, and I extend the same to you.

My appraiser Nichole Cave made multiple errors during our claim. She documented the incorrect area of damage, even though she had a picture of the area that was hit, and the wrong area was repaired. I spoke to her supervisor, Michael, who seemed not to care. He told me they would pay to fix the correct area, but since there was a dent near the area to be fixed, I needed to pay for that. He would not assist us with a rental car either, even though we were without a car for six days having the wrong area repaired. I contacted a lawyer, and I am suing the appraiser and the company for misrepresentation and dealing in bad faith. MAPFRE, please do not write the same thing you have written on all the other bad reviews.

After paying for homeowners insurance for almost 10 years with no claims, our policy was not renewed due to a few cosmetic issues with the exterior of our home. I never received a notice and only knew because I stumbled upon it in my account documents online. Mapfre treats loyal customers poorly! I will never use this company again. I am canceling a condo and auto policy with Mapfre because they only care about making money.

We had our home insurance through MAPFRE. In early 2023 we were trying to sell our home. Went under contract, then it fell through in May just before the end of the contract when the buyer lost her job. We had already committed to a rental lease at another location when this happened. Our realtor assured us it would sell quickly and that we should go through with our move. Unfortunately it did take a while and we didn't get another contract until the end of June, that had a closing in late July. About a week into July, I got a letter in USPS mail from MAPFRE saying that they had detected that our house was vacant and that they would be cancelling our insurance policy as of a date that was 11 days before our closing. I was certain this was just an automated thing and that if I explained the situation, they would correct it, but nope. I was told on the phone that they couldn't do anything for me, even though I explained that we were at the house daily checking on it and only needed 11 more days. It took threats of contacting the DOI and alerting an investigative news channel to get them to relent, which they did, but I will NEVER forgive them for the stress they caused us at a time that was already incredibly stressful and horrible for us. Would give 0 stars if I could.

Absolutely the worst experience of my life. From the shop they had in their EZ Shop group (Michael's Auto Body of Beverly) to the appraiser Rick Koppa (doesn't understand a turbo vibration versus a rattling bolt or that all front-end accidents should have an alignment) to their supervisors never managing to call me back. Just awful.

In June of 2023, I purchased a new condo. Sadly, three weeks in, I had a flood caused by my upstairs neighbor and the HOA. I had three different construction companies come and give me estimates which ranged from $45,000 to $65,000. Mapfre gave me $13,000 and called it good. I pressed them to give me the total for repairs and then go after the HOA insurance, but they refused. I have been without a kitchen and bathroom for eight months, and they simply don't care. I have had to hire a lawyer to try and get the money to be able to live in my own home.
Whatever you do, don't use this company!

In the span of about 60 days (12/24 - 2/22) I was hit by two separate drivers who both had MAPFRE’s scam insurance. My first car was totaled and my brand new replacement car was hit so bad the bumper had to be replaced. This scam of an insurance company insures the most ghetto unreliable drivers who have no business being on the road. I can’t even comprehend how I had never even heard of this insurance “company” and now TWO of their drivers have totaled/damaged two brand new cars of mine. Unreal. Do not get insurance with this company if you are a respectable driver/human being. And try not to get hit by anyone “insured” by them. This company and its drivers are ghetto and gross.

I filed a claim 6 days ago for a major accident. They have a nice little App, but in reality, no one is available to help. I’ve emailed and called the rep multiple times, with no response. Now, their whole phone system is down. Not even the agents can get in touch with them. What kind of customer service is this? Premium payments have to be done to the day—-but they can take more than a week with no way to contact them. Very wrong.

Don't ever get this insurance..I have it they charge me 3 thousand, and change a year and I don't even have full coverage, and they be charging me extra. Won't send me the bill receipt and I had them take the money automatically from my account. I told them to stop, I'll do it manually and to stop taking money out of my bank account, and they took it. Last month I call them, they put money back, then I told them again: stop taking money out of my bank account. They said they took me off their automatic payments, then this month they did it again, called, they put my money back 2 days later, they took money out of my bank account ag.

Look around for a better company They start you off with a great rate. And insist that that only accept automatic withdrawal. As I combined my homeowners and car insurance I figured they would be great. Not customer service oriented and their rates skyrocketed within the next 2 years, no traffic tickets etc. their reviews are scary. I would say run if you have them or reconsider

After we accurately completed the application, bound the policy , they sent an inspector to the house, raised the coverages by 40%, and told us we had to install an elaborate burglar fire and humidity alarm system. Not the most consumer friendly company.

I found the same insurance coverage for $1000 less a year. I got a full refund on my house insurance, which is paid annually by my mortgage company. I make monthly payments for my auto insurance. I paid $227 and was refunded $86. They call it a 'short rate cancellation penalty'. My agent never explained this, and I was changing to a company throught the same agent. I had never heard of this before and it doesn't seem well-published. I just want people to be aware.
