Safeway Insurance

Cannot get anyone to answer phone in emergency. In October 2024, I locked keys in car around 11pm, and needed a locksmith/tow truck. Could not get Safeway to answer emergency number. About two weeks ago, I was stuck in the ditch on a Saturday about 130 pm. Could not reach local agent or toll free number.

I had an accident which was not my fault. The insurance company, Safeway Insurance, stated they didn't have enough coverage from the other party to pay for the full damages to my car. I had to get a rental car to attend work and school for my disabled daughter, which was not covered by my insurance. I had to pay out of pocket. When trying to get reimbursed, I was told to email what I had paid, which was $936.00. Once I sent the email requesting reimbursement, I received a letter months later stating I would receive the $936.00 in full. Two weeks later, I received a letter stating they made a mistake and now they can only pay $360.54. I called and left a voicemail to have a callback. Once I received a callback, it was the rudest lady I have ever talked to. As if this isn't already a stressful situation. When answering, she says, "Yeah, this is Safeway. What do you need?" I explained about the reimbursement for my rental. Her response was, "You need to email it over, then we can look at it." I stated, "Ma'am, I have already done this." She then said, "Oh well, then what do you need?" I'm sorry, but the rudeness was too much. I would never recommend this place to anyone. Thank goodness I have GEICO now. It's the absolute worst place to deal with, especially Gina Kratky. I wish there was a no-star option because they don't even deserve the one star.

DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE!!! They will not honor claims!! I had a fender bender (out of state on vacation), and they are saying that's why they will not be able to open a claim because I was out of state from where my address is! And I've had this insurance for a year! We are currently seeking legal advice against these people. They also scammed my brother-in-law.

My experience with Safeway Insurance has been horrendous. I cancelled my policy on May 8, 2024. Five days later, they made an unauthorized withdrawal from my bank account for a policy that had legally been cancelled and was not in effect. I made several calls and visits to my agent, each time Safeway informed the agent to relay to me that "the check is in the mail." As of today, June 3, 2023, I have not received my money back. I am now forced to incur the expense of legal advice in order to get them to pay for their injustice. Do not do business with Safeway.

I’m taking y’all to court this insurance is a scam !!! Y’all don’t need any stars or customers y’all need to close down y’all literally playing with people everyday lives and that’s not cool at all me and my daughter almost died because my car caught on fire and it wasn’t my fault that’s why i had insurance because stuff like this like what was the point getting insurance if this was going to happen and everyone keeps getting Angelica Jimenez like is she even a real person because she not answering

They take their dear sweet time when it comes to claims...no concern for the customer

Not a good company at all. You pay for a policy and they don’t honor their claims.. not a good company at all.. I give it no stars. They do not honor their policy.

I’m a customer and they are the WORST. I will be switching companies ASAP. My car was stolen and damaged and they don’t want to cover all the repairs. They even have the nerve to ask me to cover half of certain parts of the car that need to be repaired. They have made this experience a literal nightmare. RUUUUUN from this insurance company. They need to be taken down asap and sued for all the crap they put people through.

Safeway Insurance Company of Louisiana is one of the worst insurance companies I am left with an injury to my neck after a wreck that wasn't my fault and they refused to fix this problem if anyone else have a wreck with this Safeway Insurance Company sue them for every dime these people are not right so don't think that Safeway Insurance Company have your best interest they are all about the money and not taking care of the victim I am left with a lifelong neck injury I called the Louisiana state Insurance Commissioner and made a complaint against this company Sue this company and make them pay for your injuries they will try to lowball you into a settlement please retain an attorney to fight this company for the compensation that you deserve for being injured I took a low ball settlement that will not cover the injury that I sustained in this wreck that was not my fault after going to the emergency room and being checked out the doctor just thought it was soreness and inflammation but it turned out that the soreness never went away call Safeway Insurance Company back to be informed by them that is nothing they could do about medical payments for this injury that was caused by the accident that was not my fault I feel that Safeway Insurance Company still should be liable for my medical payments im a very dissatisfied consumer

Being on the victim side of a Safeway insured driver is a literal nightmare. They have the worst service. I wouldn’t recommend Safeway insurance to anyone. My mom was killed over a year ago by a Safeway insured driver. We still haven’t settled the claim because Safeway continually “loses” the claim. Or the employees pretend they don’t have it. I don’t know. What a nightmare.

A Safeway insurer let his daughter drive his car and she let her boyfriend drive the car he ran the stop sign going at least 40 mph and struck my vehicle and drove off with the help of good Samaritans I was able to get the vehicle's plate info
The cops found the driver which wasn't the owner and wrote him citations.
My car was towed to a tow yard
5 days after before I even talked to anyone from Safeway an adjuster gave orders to move my car without me knowing anything about it
I was hot
I never got a rental or payment for my damage vehicle
Why are these people still in business
Their scam stops here
I'm a hard worker and I'm not rich I can't afford to fix something that someoneelse did
That's what Insurance is for pay for your mistake
So now I gotta do what I gotta do
Let's take this company down now before other people become victims
I'm going to fox 8 news cause it's a lot of innocent people on the roads that don't know the danger if they get hit by a Safeway insurer

I would give this company less than 1 star. This is the WORST insurance company EVER! DO NOT get insurance at Safeway. They don't answer messages at all but if they want something from you they expect it immediately.

Worst company I've had to file a claim with, they are giving my wife and I the run around getting our vehicle fixed after one of their clients hit us at a stop sign. We had to get the accident report and sent to them because they claimed they couldn't get it. Then they asked us details of their client that we didn't know about. We waited weeks before they would get back to us and they want us to send all the photos we took of both vehicals for the 3rd time. This is a horrible company and you'd be better of filing an uninsured motorist claim.

And thanks Safeway is a good company it’s just some of the employees, That may give this company a Bad name Because the experience I had with agent this morning was unacceptable to me, this guy name Daniel Mares, was extremely rude, he didn’t care to take the time to help me resolve my issue, telling me that he would call me back in the next two hours because that’s how long it would take to upload my pictures of my vehicle, and also said that he didn’t have time to stay on the phone with me to help me with my issue, so I wind up calling back speaking with another agent, by the name of Benito rodriguez, and he didn’t hesitate to help me with my issue no matter how long it took he even stayed on the phone with me over an hour to help me with my issue I am so grateful for people such as him he definitely deserves five stars he was so polite and courteous and he didn’t get off the phone with me until my issue was resolved, so Mr. Daniel you really need to work on how you treat customers, thank you so much Mr. Benito rodriguez
